Windows On Mac :: Removing - Deactivate Serial First?

Feb 18, 2010

I've decided to remove Windows 7 from my iMac - the version installed is the 32 bit version, and I want to install the 64 bit instead as I've just upgrade to 8GB of ram (it's the 27 inch model). Do I just remove the partition via Boot Camp, or do I need to deactivate the serial number somewhere first?

Applications :: Using Mac CS4 Serial On Windows?

Mar 15, 2009

Excuse me if this has been discussed before, but I was not able to find a discussion relating to my question.

I just purchased CS4 for my Mac after using the 30-day trial, and I am very much a PS newb. I wish to use CS4 on my windows- based laptop. I believe you are able to use the one serial on two computers at the same time if I am not mistaken...?

If I download the trial version of CS4 on my windows laptop - will I be able to use the serial from the Mac CS4 I purchased?

I have 2 questions1 Do I need to run bootcamp setup on the new drive before cloning?2 On the old windows partition that I would like to turn into a OS X partition can I just reformat that partition to wipe out windows or is there another step. The other half of the drive is my boot disk so I do not want to reformat the whole drive.

MacBook Pro :: Removing Underside Of MBP 17 - Pop Sound When Removing On Cover Normal?

Jun 30, 2010

as an extension to my question regarding RAM utilization, I've decided to upgrade my RAM. I went through the process of removing the underside of my MBP. After taking the screws out and mentally marking which slot they came out of (some are of different size), I pulled the lid up at the black trim area (the "neck" of the display mount) as this was the easiest way to get a non-damaging grip on the metal underside -- read: I avoided using a screw driver on the lid. As I started to lift, I was surprised at the amount of force I needed to use in order to remove the lid; something near the center of the cover was still holding the lid to the underside of the body. In fact, the amount of force I needed to use made me pause to question if I missed an important step other than simply removing the screws. I decided to "go for it" and applied more pressure while pulling the lid up and away from the body and heard a "pop" noise.

OS X :: Problem Starting Up MacBook After Removing Windows Partition

I get a black screen that reads,

I can load Mac OS X if I press the Option key during startup, and select the Mac hard drive.

How do I load up the Mac OS X system without having to do it manually? I'm a brand new newbie with Macs.

Windows On Mac :: Removing BootCamp And Reunite Partition With Original?

Dec 3, 2010

IMac OS X 10.5.6 on 392.86 GB (392,855,289,856 bytes) of HD. 392.86 GB (392,855,289,856 bytes) of Windows Vista on what is left of original drive. My first action was to format the "Spare Disk" HFS+ which was successful but. The anomaly began once I removed the Bootcamp partition. I now have two drives which was once the original drive. The drive which had windows on now appears as "Spare Disk" when I view it through System Profiler but does not show up in the finder menu. It now appears as though the "Spare Disk" us useless and wasted space. My goal was to remove the BC partition and reunite the windows partition with the original. I'm not sure if I'm explaining this properly but simply put, I would like to connect the spare disk with the original disk so I have more usable space.

Windows On Mac :: Removing Ubuntu Partitions From Hard Drive

Mar 27, 2010

I know this isn't "Windows" per say, but I couldn't really find a closer forum to post in. I installed Ubuntu following their online guide using Bootcamp and such because I was curious. Now, it's not really working as much as I would like it to, and I'd like to remove the 90 or so Gigabytes I gave to Ubuntu in my partition.

I tried using the Disk Utility, and it always gets stuck on "preparing to remove partition". I waited for an hour and a half once, and it still had not progressed. I also tried using the Disk Utility off of my Mac OS X installation disk and saw the same failures and results. What can I do to remove this plaguing Ubuntu partition off of my hard drive for good?

I thought it would work by erasing them, but I may have made the problem worse. Here is what it looks like: I tried booting the Ubuntu disc as I read I could remove the partition using that, but I don't understand how that would work.

Mac Pro :: How To Deactivate One Of Two Displays Under OS X

Oct 15, 2010

First, I need to say that, regarding my problem, I wasn't sure if I should post in this section or in the 'MacOSX' one, but like I'm facing this problem on my Mac Pro 4,1. So, I have a 8-core Mac Pro 4,1 with an Apple HD4870 to which are connected 2 screens: The main one is a Dell U2410 (1920x1200, via mDP to DP adapter) that I use under OSX for photography retouching with DxO. The other one is a 27'' (1920x1080, DVI) I only use for gaming under bootcamp.

When under bootcamp, I only need to turn off the Dell and the desktop is resized for only 1 display. My problem is that, under OsX, even when the 27'' is turned off, the desktop is extended to this display, I can't find a way to deactivate the 27''. I can't even set the displays as 'mirrors', as they have different heigts in pixels (1200 vs 1080), and then I get a Dell resized to 1080. The only solution I have right now is to disconnect the DVI cable of the 27'' when using the computer under OsX.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Cannot Deactivate The Resume

Mar 27, 2012

I have two annoying issues and hopefully one of you can help. i have looked around and cannot find an answer to my question, especially my second one (which i think is connected to the first one). I am using Safari 5.1.3 and OS X 10.7.3. One of the accounts works perfectly, the other has two issues:

1 - Safari will always start with the same set of old windows, even closing some of them and then reopening safari will always get us to the same old set of windows. I understand the (new) standard behavior is that if i open windows A, B and C and then quit Safari, at reopening it will open the same windows A, B, and C. If i now proceed to close window (or tab) C and then quit Safari at the next opening i shouldbe presented with A and B only. This is not the case for me, i am presented still with A, B, and C. I can add to the windows but not subtract. Clearly something is wrong here. Thoughts?

2 - Trying to debug problem 1 i decided to close all the winodws in Safari, then in System Preferences-General uncheck the "Restore windows when ..." and so i hoped that closing Safari and reopening would get me to just the homepage, but this was not the case and i was presented with the same old set of windows. This is easily explained by the fact that under system prefs-general the box i had unchecked was still checked. It lets me uncheck it but does not retain it.... I obviously tried rebooting to no avail.

Applications :: How To Deactivate Photoshop Elements 6

Aug 3, 2008

How to deactivate Photoshop Elements 6 for Mac? I want to uninstall PSE 6 but the uninstaller tells me to deactivate PSE 6 first. However, there seems to be no option for deactivation in the applications installed with PSE 6 (i.e. PSE 6 for Mac itself, Bridge CS3, Stock Photos CS3, Adobe Help Viewer 1.1). I have tried to search the web and Adobe's knowledge base... with no luck. Search in PSE 6's internal Help returns one result for 'deactivate' - but it's something about editing pictures. There's no 'Deactivate...' under Help menu.

MacBook Pro :: How To Deactivate Faces In Iphoto

Apr 9, 2012

I definitely need to get rid of "Faces" in iPhoto. I don't need it and it is making me crazy. It shows up when I am looking at my photos at places (like on the ground, sky, etc.) where there is simply no face. AND if there is a face I don't want to see any names or pop ups from "Faces" on my photos.

It seems Apple again know better what their customers want and decided for them to have this stupid feature! It makes me really sick!

In case there should be no solution to get rid or "faces" I will just use another software and forget iPhoto.
