Mac Pro :: PC Video Card - Special Drivers?
Nov 6, 2010Last month, my mac pro stopped working. I can still hear the chime but nothing loads in the scree. So i brought it to a service center and they told me it's problem with the video card and that I have to pay 500 dollars for that. I am hesitant to shell out that big amount of a cash. Been using the Mac for 3 years now. the video card is nvidia p435(says on the sticker) which i think is a 7300 gt. My question is, can I use PC video cards for this cause I find the similarity. Since it's PCI-e then it should fit and work. My only concern is if they is a special driver that needs to be installed.

Jun 14, 2009Back in my PC days, I used to have to manually update my video card drivers ALOT due to the many games I played on it. I know that Apple has the update software feature, but I never seem to see any video card drivers for the 9400/9600 chip. Can I update this manually from the Nvidia site? Or trust that Apple will update drivers when they feel the need. BTW, I'm not having video issues on the OS X, but just wondering.

Jun 21, 2009I'm trying to update my video card drivers on my 13" MBP. It seems as if I am getting a nv4_disp.dll error on the XP partition of my hard drive when I try to exit BF2. Could anyone suggest good graphics drivers to download? I tried Omega drivers but they said that my graphics card could not be recognized.

2x EDIT: I'm getting this error whether the NVidia drivers are installed or not. Similar error with the Omega drivers. What shall I do? This screen has the Boot Camp NVidia drivers installed, I've tried it with them uninstalled as well. Sorry for repeating myself but I want to get that point across. These are the drivers from the Apple link.

I've inserted it in again and have now zeroed out the data about 4 times in the MS-DOS format, now whenever I try to insert it into a camera or printer it will say it's not useable despite being able to use it on my Mac. Mar 25, 2009I've got a Satallite dish system and two routers. I have router B plugged into Router A. Router b Everything is disabled, DNS, Gateway, **** like that, including DHCP. Router A has DHCP enabled, MAC Address Filtering, and DNS and Gateways for the dish system entered. I'm running this setup for my little out post in Iraq. The dish is plugged into the "uplink" port in back of the router, Both Linksys, btw. So I've got 30 people or so on this router, and some one, i fear is passing alot of crap and hogging all the network bandwidth. I suspect SpyWare/Adware of Virus problem on one or two machines. Is there anyway to setup my Mac or a Windows Machine to accept all the data through a network card, and then pass that data up to the satallite dish? I just need to see who's sending all this data and the Linksys logs are crap.
