Software :: Importing Outlook Pst Files From Windows?

Jan 29, 2007

If anyone knows how to import outlook pst files including mail messages, sent messages, calendar data, appointments etc. is this all possible in mac? I know a few programs have somewhat similar features, but, even if there is some solution coming out soon, like the new version of office with newer entourage? or leopard mail or even i heard a program like Daylite is similar.

Applications :: Importing Outlook Express Messages To Entourage

Mar 21, 2009

I used to use an old version of Outlook Express on my Powerbook 1400 running OS 9.2. Before I switched to my PB G4 (which a few months ago was replaced by a new MB Pro) in 2003, I archived my Outlook identity as a Stuffit file. The other day I discovered this old archive and thought I'd try to retrieve the message from it. I unstuffed it and the result was an "Entourage Database." Okay, but Entourage will not let me import from it. When I try to use it as the database for Entourage, it needs to be rebuilt, but when it is rebuilt, the file size is reduced from 190 MB to 18 MB and the content is apparently cleaned out. Does anyone know how I can get these old email messages out of this file and into either Entourage or Apple Mail?

OS X :: How To Automate Renaming Of Files After Importing

Jan 2, 2010

We got a Flip video camera for Christmas, and I'm trying to find a way to easily import the videos into a specific folder on my MBP.

I'm sure there's an automator action or folder action to do this, but I don't even know where to begin for that.

What I want to do is be able to drop the files from the Flip into a specific folder, but I want those files to be automatically renamed into a sequential order once they are dropped in. As it stands, the files are named VID00001, VID00002, etc., and when those are dragged and dropped into a folder on the HDD, the retain that numbering. They are erased from the camera, and the renaming starts all over again.

What I want to do is to be able to drop those new files from the camera into the same folder, and have the numbering pick up at 00003, 00004, etc.

I have just got my first mac and I am really enjoying it so far. I am trying to import video files from the hard drive in to iMovie, the video clips were captured using a Panasonic lumix tz7. I think the format is AVCHD or m2ts? , and my Mac is a macbook pro 17inch i5. Is there something I could be doing wrong or some software that I needed when I purchased my computer (when I purchased it from the apple store the genius's said that format was compatible).

Final Cut Pro X :: Importing Old Project Files?

Sep 1, 2014

I have a new Mac Pro running Maverick bought when my IMac running Leopard died on me. The reason I never upgraded the old IMac was because of FCP 6 which I did not want to lose. I backed up regularly onto Time Machine and kept my FCP project files on an external hard drive

I was part way through editing a project when my IMac died. I bought 7toX thinking I would be able to import it but now find that I can't because you have to have FCP 6 or 7 already installed to do so, which you can't with OS 10.9.4.

OS X :: Open .pst Files On Mac Without Outlook?

Mar 12, 2008

I've got some mailboxes in Outlook 2003 on my Windows work machine that I'd like to export and open on my Mac, maybe saving them on a USB key and taking them home. Can I open or work with these on my MBP running Leopard? The emails only have to be read-only, even just being able to open and read them would be OK, but I'd also like the attachments, if at all possible. I can't currently test this on my work (Tiger) Mac as Mail isn't working. Any clues from the wise ones?

OS X :: Transferring Outlook Files To Mac?

Mar 12, 2009

So here is the deal: My father is transferring to a mac, but he wants the outlook stuff to come with him, and he picked me to arrange that:
1) I want to transfer Outlook files to Mac, contacts and adress book will manage, but I want all the tethering of the saved emails (All emails saved in folders and sub-folders in outlook) to remain intact.
2) I searched and saw some shady way of renaming the files and messing around with them, don't wanna use that.
3) I downloaded trial of 02M by little machines, but that could not connect to outlook and they don't really offer support. (installed latest updates from MS etc.)
4) haven't tried Thunderbird, but I think it just won't do the job.

Applications :: Importing Multiple AVI Files Into ITunes

Apr 25, 2009

I have imported my DVD collection into my hard drive so I can have the entire TV series on my Mac without swapping DVDs all the time (I want to access them via Front Row). Currently the format is AVI and cannot be imported into iTunes. I can however open the movie in quicktime, save as a reference file, then import into iTunes. However, this would take me hours and hours with my video library. If I convert them to *.mov format, it would also take hours and hours. I know there's a program called videodrive that will import them all, but I'd like to buy it only as a last resort. Surely there must be a way to do it via Automator or something?

ITunes :: Converting Files When Importing - AIFF To AAC?

Jun 5, 2012

I was working with my brother import his cds into Itunes on his new Mac. I told him to import them as AAC files, but unfortunately he thought I said AIFF. He has imported his whole collection at CD quality, but now his computer is nearly full with his Itunes library. Is there a way to move the files to another hard drive, then create a new Itunes library, and have Itunes convert the AIFF files to AAC files when you drag and drop them into a new library? Or does he need to re-import his whole cd collection? The other option I thought of is to export as AAC from Itunes?

Applications :: Importing .mov Files With Wrong Date To Imovie?

Jan 21, 2010

I wonder if someone could help me out on this. I've imported a lot of DV footage from my DV recorder to imovie and it has generally worked pretty well. Some of it came up with wrong dates, and I was able to follow instructions to get it to the right date.I recently purchased a Contour HD 1080P full on helmet camera for skiing/downhill biking. I got it just before my first ski trip and just took it out and recorded. It doesn't have many controls, and I didn't think that the date might not be set, and it wasn't, needs to be set by connecting it to the computer and setting it. So, it records 1080P in quicktime .mov files.. well .mov files anyway. When I import them to imovie, keeping full resolution, it takes ages. And the result is a directory full of .mov files again.
