I keep getting emails with no subject and no sender name. It will not go to junk and when I create a rule, it requires a sender address. How can I stop these emails?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just recently decided to try iMap for my google mail so that I could more efficiently read my mail on my devices and computer. Since setting up iMap, I've had a strange problem. I will open a message and the message will not be from the person that the subject and headers say it is from. Example. I get a Kohl's email with headers from amazon and then in the Amazon email is my Kohl's message. They look fine if I access the emails online through a web browser, so somehow they are getting messed up after being downloaded into Mail. This did not happen when I was using the Pop method of accessing my email accounts.

it appears i have an email account that is looking to digitally sign emails on when they are being sent. This causes my email to request access to my keychain every time I send mail.
How do you turn this off?
No i can't find a toggle anywhere to shut if off.

Apple in their wisdom feels that their emails are so important they should be highlighted in mail. i dont agree and do not need a highlight on their latest sale email.
i followed the support web instructions of removing the 'hidden' rule from mails preferences (funny it was not visible but did remove the 'apple news rule')
however, even after restarting mail - emails from apple are still highlighted (highlit?) ...
how do i turn off this annoying big brother 'feature'

I don't like the idea of Mail.app downloading the whole e-mail when I want to check for new ones.Is there any way to make it only get the subject? The idea here is to download the whole mail only if I want to (like clicking on the subject).
View 7 Replies View RelatedI switched from Ubuntu to Mac OS X 10.9.4 today at work. I'm already using Mac OS X on my private MacBook since two years now. We're using Cisco Jabber at work and I remember the Messages App to also support the XMPP protocol. So I added a new account, entered my credentials, the Jabber server and its port. All worked fine at first. Chatting with people using clients other than the original Cisco Jabber (either for Windows or for Mac) worked fine. But every message I'm receiving from someone using Cisco Jabber starts with an underscored "Subject" text. I don't think this is sent from Cisco Jabber as part of the text because I did not have such problems with receiving messages using Pidgin in 12 months.
So: Is there a way to turn this off or is it really sent by Cisco Jabber and Pidgin simply ignored it all the time?

When I opened my reading list this morning and added an entry I got a very weird list - multiple redundant entires that seem to replace the other entries I had. Checked on my reading list on my iPhone - just like it should be.

I have the weirdest problems. Every once and a while when I receive a new email, the text of the email is from a year prior. It is the weirdest thing. Anyone know what the deal is and how to fix this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am new to Mac-have recently migrated from PC to a dear little MacBook. This may be a server problem, but thought I would ask. Suddenly my inbox filled up with 1500 old emails (3-4 months' worth all marked "unread"). Have I inadvertently done something?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI started my Mac mail application today (set to connect to my gmail accounts through IMAP), and all my mail that was in my inbox is GONE. I don't know if my gmail accounts were hacked or if their implementation of "Priority Inbox" just trashed all my messages older than 35 days. I've changed my password and disabled Priority Inbox. Does anyone have any ideas about how I can recover my e-mails?

Apple mail out of office rule is sending auto replies to all emails not just newly received emails--HELP! I set up the rule according to another apple support thread and instead of only sending the reply to new mail received, it was sent to all messages I believe that were in my INBOX, I only had a few but several people that hadn't sent me emails since I set up the rule, received the OUT OF OFFICE reply. Here is the procedure I followed for the out of office rule-[URL]I just used my email account which is a business account- not an ECU account but these rules according to the apple thread apply for all emails.

How do I sync my emails on my phone with the emails on my Macbook Pro, so that when I delete items off my inbox on my phone it will automatically recognize it on my Mac? Rather annoying having to see the emails on my Mac again after deleting them all.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have one problem again regarding my "MAIL"
I can send emails, without any problems...but I can't RECEIVE any emails, at all. All of a sudden.
On the left bottom corner, I can see, receiving 1 of 4, and after 1 min, the bar is gone, and I cannot get any emails at all.
When I login to the webmail (abc.com/webmail for instance), I can find there're 4 emails sitting there "unread"
May I know what's the problem? and how to fix it? because I want to be able to receive the mails from MAIL instead of logging in to webmail all the time.
I have an issue with my Apple Mail. I've configured my server's email on it. Now it works all fine when I setup a new account; I can easily send and receive emails.
However, after I quit the application, and reopen it, I can ONLY send emails! I don't receive any emails!
I delete a large batch of emails from my inbox, empty the trash, and the deleted emails reappear in the inbox. This happens repeatedly. How do I get rid of these emails permanently?

I've two Macs, a Mini and a Macbook. I've had no issues with wireless at all, but today when using my Macbook to connect to my network for the first time, I had a message pop up that I've never seen before and I'm not sure why. I checked the MAC address of my mini and it is not the one described in the warning message. I changed my wireless password immediately and do so regularly anyway ( weekly basis ) but the machine with the unknown [to me] MAC address is still connected when I look in the Attached Devices info pane in my router.
View 22 Replies View Related if it's possible to disable these annoying warning messages that pop up when trying to open certain files on the Mac? I work a lot with web files and constantly have to click "Open" on this dialogue box when opening a new file has become a bit tiresome.

When I shut down last night before my Mac went off, I got a big black box in the middle of the screen telling me to hold down the power key for a few seconds in 4 different languages. Did that and Mac went off.
Never got that before, what is that?
I have a 15 inch Macpro running Mac OS X Lion, version 10.7.3. It keeps shutting down without any warning. The screen just goes black and I have to press and hold the power button for a while till a hear a sound to turn the system off. This is happening like, more than 5 times a DAY.

Last night my macbook air turned off without warning and wouldn't turn back on until I tried again this morning. A few weeks ago I had my battery and logic board replaced and since then it the screen has gone blue for a few seconds and then back to normal a few times, (in case this is related at all). Is there something I should do to make sure this doesn't happen again.

Now this didnt always happen but as of lately my unibody macbook runing Lion has been dying without warning that my battery is low. It doesnt even go to sleep, it completely dies.
Info:MacBook, Mac OS X (10.7.4)
I replaced the battery in my MBP which wouldn't charge or run for more than 1 hour. Now, with the new battery, I have 2 issues:
1--battery status in menu bar does not change. It shows it's at 28% all the time
2--I not longer get a warning that my battery is about to run out.
This is a drag since the computer keeps going to sleep on me because it's run out of juice unbeknownst to me.

Had (used) iBook G4 several months now & thoroughly enjoy it, even tho' I live in the sticks where there's no hi-speed/wireless available; I connect to internet & power, which is fine.
This weekend I went to turn off my iBook & it wouldn't turn off. It's now permanently on, with opening info barely visible (like I need to click on F2 to brighten up, except nothing happens).
Currently using my "back up" computer, my iMac Grape, which is pretty much an antique by now.
I have a problem with my 17'' MBP unibody:
1) Bluetooth is ON:
I can't turn it off. The checkbox is inactive.
But I can turn it off, if I choose "Share my internet connection for other units". (I don't know, if this is the right text in english, because my OSX is in german)
2) Now Bluetooth is OFF:
But I can't turn it on, because the checkbox "ON" is inactive.
It turns only on, if I choose "New Unit"(?). Then there is a new window, that says, that this is only possible if Bluetooth turns on. If I say OK, bluetooth turns ON.
Back to 1)
What's the problem. Why is this f* checkbox for turning bluetooth on and off inactive?
This is not a hardware problem, because I can have stable bluetooth connections.
I did a smc and am pram reset. But it doesn't help.
