This is probably pretty basic, but I'm getting a lot of confused answers re : Apple ID vs email accounts.
I want to use the same Apple ID, but create a second (easier to spell!) email account name. Is this possible on .mac/iCloud?

I tried filling those out with my existing account info, then it gets into a continuous loop with the server, probably confused because I already have that account. I shut down Aperture and tried to order via iPhoto - no problem.

As the name implies HDD_tiger has 10.4.11 on it. goal state: I want to join the "shared" and "other" partitions without ffecting "HDD_tiger". Other data that might be needed: I don't care what the other name of the partition is but I plan to move my iTunes files from an external HD to this new > 70GB partition. I have 66GB in my iTunes folder (hence the reason it's on an external HD). Date of Manufacture: less than 8 months after Apple went to Intel processors
Processors: 2.16 GHz dual core
RAM: (maxed) 2GB DDR2 SDRAM
Start up disc: HDD_tiger

One thing I hate about the new 10.6.4 is that the names of Screen shots are a block and a half long... as they include that day and time..fair enough, but many dialog boxes in BB's where I want to post some screen shots trunciate that making finding it a time consuming thing. before it simply said screen shot and a number...anyway I can go back to that method/system that does not require a PHD in computer programing. I have googled it, and there are things about writing 'scripts' etc... (that loses me completely...anyone know an easier method... (and when apple change things like this, why dont they give the option to use the old ways...?

I'm a drummer and use a few different camera's to record my drumming. I have one camera capable of recording 720p or 1080p, but my other 2 only shoot 480p. I want export the whole video after editing in all the different shots, at 1080p or 720p. My problem is, the camera's that shoot 480p, have a border around them, so can I fill in that border somehow?

Control Shift Command 4 copies a picture of screen selection to the clipboard. The command works to paste the picture in any program except Mail. Paste does nothing. Is this a bug in Mail? Using SL on MacBook Pro.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI used GRAB to grab a couple of maps off of mapquest. I couldn't find them afterwards and I discovered they were in dashboard. Wierd??
Now I can't get rid of them. I've tried dragging them to the trash, clicking on them, trying to find them in the Finder. Nada. Nothing. I can't figure out how to get rid of them. When I clicked on one of them the entire machine froze and I had to turn the power off to get it to start up again.

I noticed that Aperture 3 is priced really, REALLY low on the Mac App Store. So I made the decision to buy it. But... I already have Aperture 2 installed. So what happens when I buy Aperture 3? Does it recognize that I have Aperture 2 installed, and upgrade it, or will it install Aperture 3 alongside Aperture 2?

shutting down. It looks as though it is shutting down normally and then the screen darkens from top to bottom with an error message. I can't get a screen shot of the message but all it says is that there has been an error. It happens seemingly at random occasions but then when I subsequently log back on there is an message saying that MACOSX has an error
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've used my computer everyday this week at school at home. At school I usually only have safari/textedit open. My cpu temp NEVER GOES ABOVE 45C
no matter what I'm doing since I just take notes/surf the internet.
Last night I decided to update to 10.6.1. I was playing some odst, but I decided to leave my computer on and just shut it down thinking that when i switched it back on tomorrow (today) that the update would take affect. os x does say I have 10.6.1 but as soon as i switched my computer with text edit running my cpu temperature shot to 60c and its stayed that way up till now. I can't find my cpu being used by some random processed but as I'm a real temperature freak, this is kind of annoying. Has anyone had this problem with 10.6.1 (10.6 is fine). My computer is a Late 2008 15" u Macbook pro
I'm sure I've managed this before, but can't remember how. You're playing a video and you want a snapshot of that babe singing to print and put in your wallet... what's the key sequence? If SHIFT+CMD+3 grabs a screen, what grabs a video shot?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Seagate external drive. In the past few days a message pops up "The disc was not ejected properly", in spite the icon is still on the desktop.
I restarted the finder and nothing showed up, empty desktop. I forced shot down, and I could not log in with my password, because the keyboard would not type. I shot down the computer holding the power button, and disconected the external drive. I could login, bot my outlook 2011 would not start and Adobe acrobat would crash. I rebuild the outlook, and restarted the computer. Went back to normal so far.
Question, what caused all this mess,
a) is external Seagate drive duying (Disk utility said that the drive is OK)?
b) Did I catch a virus?
Also every time I force shot down, I have to rebuilf identity for outlook 2011. Very disturbing. I never had these issues with Snow Leopard.
