View 5 RepliesI just bought a Mac and need to export my OE mail to Mac mail. The Apple store would not help me with this because they said it could not be done perfectly, therefore, they do not offer this service.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have MSOutlook 2000 (not Express) and want to export my address book into Mac Mail. Outlook will export into a .pst file. Is this something Mac Mail will import? It will also export into "Comma separated values" if that helps.
View 17 Replies View RelatedI try now to transfer all my mails with their categories to Outlook too but I don't succeed. I read some discussions on this forum but they are obsolete as they were with snowLeopard and Outlook 2011. Would someone have good news for me and find a way to transfer all the mails with their categories from Apple Mail to Outlook 2011 for Mac ?

Does anyone know if there is a way to export email addresses from Mail? (2.1 using 10.4.11)
Mail must store them somewhere to use for its auto-fill feature.
Is it possible to extract these addresses?
We used to use Quickmail in the past which had a simple option to harvest all mail addresses for a particular inbox/outbox etc.
The last step in migrating over to fully using my iMac is my email. It's on Outlook 2007, and I want to make use of Mail on Mac OS. I've searched google, and found an Application called Outlook2Mac. Are there any other free alternatives out there? I don't see why I have to pay for something I'd use only once.
View 8 Replies View RelatedEmail recipients using Mac Mail have been reporting that when they get email from me (from Outlook2007 in the PC), it would include all the tags. Also happens when I send as RTF. Plain text is fine.
So I did an experiment and since I am a mac user too, I tested it myself on my mac mail. Test scenario is this:
1. I send email from Outlook2007 (PC) using HTML as default.
2. I open with Macmail, I get garbage. (see below and/or attached file for illustration.)
3. I open same email on Entourage, it's fine.
4. I open same email on webmail, it's fine.
I used to use Mail as my default email client, but then my company insisted on me using Outlook instead. I have successfully gone into Mail > Preferences > General and changed the default reader to Outlook and that works great. This is the problem: when I cmd click on a file, I have an option to select "New Email As Attachment". This is still defaulting to Mail.

My college email is a Microsoft Outlook Web Access Light 2007 account, using [URL]. I believe it is an Exchange account, as opposed to POP or IMAP, but I cannot find anywhere what to enter for "incoming mail server", "outlook web access server", or "outgoing mail server". I've tried [URL] which to me seems like the logical answer due to the generic example of [URL] along with a mix of other server names found on my email's about page.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am an educator and my school system "upgraded" their Exchange Server and subsequently put Outlook on my computer. I configured Mail to pop over from Outlook, but now, I can't delete an email sent to my school email account without opening up Outlook and deleting it....it just keeps reappearing in my inbox. The problem is not the same on my iPhone or iPad, just on my MacBook Pro. So, I go for several days while the emails pile up, then open up Outlook and delete them one by one when I can't stand it anymore. Also, when Outlook is open, my computer runs at about 1/2 speed...everything slows and bogs down. Can I just delete Outlook from my computer?

In the Mail app, I'm getting a circle with a triangle and an exclamation mark inside it. I can't receive or send my from this (Outlook Express) account. It's a work email account, but it has been working fine until now. I clicked Rebuild from the app menu (trying to fix it!), but that only removed all existing emails in the mailbox. Â

I cannot receive mhy me.com email on Microsoft Outlook on my iMac. I keep getting the message, "Mail could not be received at this time. The server for account 'iCloud' returned the error 'Authentication failed.' Your username/password or security settings may be incorrect. Would you like to try re-entering your password?" Reentering the password seems to have no effect and the above message repeats itself.Â

I am VERY new to Macs have always had PC,s. we are switching the house and personal laptops to Macs. My major problem at this time is email. Is there a way to add outlook express email to the mobile me email account?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have decided to start using gmail and keeping my email online instead of stored locally in the Mail program.
I have all my old mail and sent mail downloaded locally in the Mail program.
Is there an easy way to export all of that into gmail? I see I can import mail into gmail from other mail accounts, but here I am talking about importing mail that is now stored locally.
How do I set up Outlook for Mac email using [url]..?

Is there away to import mail account settings from Thunderbird and/or Outlook Express into Mail? [that is mail.app, to help any one searching later on as Mail is too common a word to search for]. I've imported all my messages correctly but don't know how or if it's possible to import my account settings. Also: I'm in the process of migrating all my e-mails / mail accounts / settings and mail rules from Outlook Express to Mail [Mail.app]. I have successfully got all my e-mails across. I have also managed to convert all the e-mail addresses in the 50+ mail rules, as stored in the Windows registry, from hex into text.
Some of my rules have tens of e-mail addresses which if I had to add in each address separately would be a nightmare. Is there away of block adding in e-mail addresses to Mail? Also is it possible to manually edit the mail rules preference file(s) and insert the e-mail addresses into that? I'm aware I have to manually recreate the rules themselves but that's not so difficult. It's the adding back in of all the e-mail addresses that might be, given the large number that exist.
If I send a msg from Apple Mail to i.e. Outlook Express. The same msg shows up with "clean" text formating. That will say, no formatting at all. See this screen: [URL:...] I have just gotten back to the Mac now from 10-11 months in hell with Windows-stuf, so I am really eager to get this fixed. In Apple Mail the same message looks this: [URL:...] I dont want to change to Entourage, so excellent if you can help me out with this.

My dad's old pc is failing frequently and it is time for a new computer. I have a MBP and he's seen the things Macs can do. He is considering an iMac but he does a lot of emails using an microsoft outlook email address. How does that work with Macs? I have heard of entourage or mac mail, what is the best method of syncing his existing email address with his new Mac? Will it work 100%?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm new to Apple. So I have my email set up and am receiving email. I am so use to Outlook and I miss it. The email program that came with my MBP is no where near Outlook. Or, is it that I just don't know how to use the email program? Can I set up folders and file emails? Can I display those folders and easily access them. Where is a calendar? Does Apple have a program similar to Outlook? I read where Outlook is available for the Mac. I'm tempted to buy it but want advise on the subject. I also want to buy the MS Office for the Mac. I hate to do that but I'm so use to those programs. If someone told me no don't buy MS basic programs because MAC has great programs and you simply need to learn to use them, I will hold off. I really want honest advise and perhaps the office and email products by MS really are the way to go.

I used to get my Mac/Me.com mail this way; but now it won't work anymore since I made the switch?
Just installed Windows 7 on a MacBook Pro. Almost everything works, except for Outlook does not send out emails. It keeps returning a message "relay access denied".
Info:MacBookPro, Windows7, msg "relay access denied"
Is it possible to use both AND and OR rules with Mail's [mail.app] mail rules? For example in Outlook Express I have a rule which says should: the message body contain ANY of the following words:
one
two
three
four
AND the account is <insert account name here>
THEN move to <insert folder name here>
However on Mail there seems to only be the option for ANY or ALL and if I apply ANY then it will also move all mail from any account which has the words one, two, three or four, not just from the account I supplied. In additional all other e-mails from the account supplied will be moved as well, even if they don't contain those words.
I've been trying to ue the Mail program on OS X, but it won't import from Outlook Express in Classic Mode. What happens is that OE opens up, but none of my accounts are there (it's blank). My user folders are all
in place. I looked around the web and tried Mail Imports Scripts, which worked for only my Saved Mail Folder. it didn't import any of my other folders. I can't seem to import my Address Book either because of the
first problem with OE. Is there another user folder for OE in OS X that I'm not finding? Personally, I'd rather use OE in Classic Mode if I could. I don't like the layout of Apple's Mail.
