My dad's old pc is failing frequently and it is time for a new computer. I have a MBP and he's seen the things Macs can do. He is considering an iMac but he does a lot of emails using an microsoft outlook email address. How does that work with Macs? I have heard of entourage or mac mail, what is the best method of syncing his existing email address with his new Mac? Will it work 100%?
View 4 RepliesI'm new to Apple. So I have my email set up and am receiving email. I am so use to Outlook and I miss it. The email program that came with my MBP is no where near Outlook. Or, is it that I just don't know how to use the email program? Can I set up folders and file emails? Can I display those folders and easily access them. Where is a calendar? Does Apple have a program similar to Outlook? I read where Outlook is available for the Mac. I'm tempted to buy it but want advise on the subject. I also want to buy the MS Office for the Mac. I hate to do that but I'm so use to those programs. If someone told me no don't buy MS basic programs because MAC has great programs and you simply need to learn to use them, I will hold off. I really want honest advise and perhaps the office and email products by MS really are the way to go.

Reentering the password seems to have no effect and the above message repeats itself.

But every time i enter the password after 20-30 minutes keeps asking again.

Since I have done the upgrade to Maverick my Microsoft Outlook will not open. It launches but sticls on setting up identity then shuts down. My other Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) operate normally; I am only having this issue when trying to launch Outlook for my mail.

When im sending photos to my project manager or clients, they are coming back to me stating that they can't save the images as separate files and that they are embedded in the email. I have 'send windows friendly files' checked as well... not only it does this to my jpg's, gifs, and pngs, it is doing this to my PSDS as well... Anybody have a solution or idea of how i can fix this problem? Should i just switch to another email application?

I have successfully gone into Mail > Preferences > General and changed the default reader to Outlook and that works great. This is the problem: when I cmd click on a file, I have an option to select "New Email As Attachment". This is still defaulting to Mail.

I experience a funny behavior of Mail. At times, when I forward emails to Outlook users, they can not see the forwarded part of the mail. This happens both with my iCloud mail address and with a corporate mail account.
On the other hand, if I send the same email from iCloud.com web page, it works fine.
This is very bad: I use mail for work and over 90% of my contacts use Outlook...
