Had to reinstall Leopard. Once install completed I found that I could not open Safari or iCal. Have tried to update software but still no luck. Any suggestions?

Now, Safari and Firefox are crashing frequently (multiple times a day!) and everything is slowing down again. I'm hoping a reinstall of the operating system will fix that. However, I used up all 5 installs on my Family Pack. Can I reinstall Snow Leopard with that disc, even though all 5 installs have been used? Do I need to buy another copy? Can the Genius Bar do the clean reinstall for me while my computer is there for other repairs?

Just installed Safari update to 5.1.5 and now Safari won't load any web page. Running snow leopard on an iMac. How do I fix, or revert to previous version of Safari that did work, keeping in mind, can't access internet on that computer since Safari won't load a web page (Firefox, Chrome, Opera have never worked on that computer, although Firefox worked fine until I upgraded OS to snow leopard).

Adobe recommends downgrading from Safari 5.1.7 as this version will not open pdfs in Snow Leopard. Where can I find downloads of older (pre 5.1.7) versions of Safari? The apple site keeps forcing me to the download for the most recent 5.1.7 version.

2) Also safari and chrome take ages to load pages when every time I open them (around 45 seconds) and then when they are running safari will randomly close and chrome will come up with the aw snap message for random pages (doesnt matter if its trying to loas flash or not).
Iv got Sophos anti virus which is saying theres no malware or viruses, also tried restartiing, re downloading chrome, deleteing my profile from chrome, exporting, deleting and then importing bookmarks and hardwiring the latop to the router.

i have snow leopard and had some issues with safari. I uninstalled it and now i can't find where to download it from. The link on the apple website is for either tiger of leopard. I downloaded the leopard one, but it will not install on my computer because it is 10.6.1 instead of 10.5.8 or later. I have looked around, but can't find where to download it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSafari 5.1.3 is a disaster. Ever since I upgraded a week ago I have had nothing but heartache, with multiple issues cropping up, all of them seemingling unfixable. As it turns out I have a backup of my system that has my previous, non-heartache version of Safari 5.1.2. My question is simple: Now that I've "upgraded" to Lion 10.7.3 and Safari 5.1.3, can I simply overwrite Safari 5.1.3 with the previous 5.1.2 version and get on with my life? Or will various changes throughout the system cause me more misery? Otherwise, I may just roll my whole system back to last week's backup and get on with my life.

My safari (4.0.3) has started giving me the spinning beach ball way too often. I've repaired permissions but it's still doing it. View 3 Replies View RelatedSafari 4 seems to somehow have been deleted from my mac. The dock icon had a question mark in it so I removed it from the dock (nothing happened when i clicked on it anyway). When I looked in my applications folder it appears to have gone from there. No problem I thought, i'll just reinstall it. Luckily I have Firefox on the computer so I went to apple.com/downloads and tried to download Safari 4. Nothing happens. A screen comes up saying thank you for downloading Sarafi but nothing has downloaded. Still not a problem i thought because i'm sure I have a copy of Safari 4 in my downloads folder from a few months ago. Found it, clicked on it and went through the install process. When it get to the "select a destination" stage it won't let me install because "this update requires Mac OS X 10.5.7 I have Mac OS X 10.5.8 which means it should work being a newer version. I can continue using Firefox but it seems a bit weird that I can't reinstall Safari. I have also noticed that for some reason i can't download anything else from the apple downloads page.

I accidentally removed Safari and am now trying to reinstall it from the disk. However, I can't check the box for Safari on the Optional Installs disk. I'm running 10.5.8 on an imac. I have now backed up everything (not Safari b/c I had already deleted it) to time machine and looking at doing a custom reinstall from the "install Mac OS X.app" disk.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was having some issues with safari opening and Mac Support had me reinstall my disks. I just bought my MacBook like 3 months ago so I'm still getting used to everything and since installing I have 2 issues:
1. I found my user name, which we saved, on the "previous system" folder, but how do I get the info to apply. I tried dragging the whole folder to my desktop, but do I actually have to open each file and save them?
2. What happened to iphoto. I tried to open some of my pictures from my iphoto library and it said that I did not have iphoto on my computer

It is frozen on the transferring files to support applications. It says it has 3 minutes remaining but has said that for the last hour or so.
