I've found recently that when I'm watching a video on youtube through safari the video will suddenly stop around halfway into it. I end up having to watch it using another browser. This only happens with Safari.
View 8 RepliesI'm having some YouTube trouble. When I play a video on YT, Little Snitch prompts me for "url..." at least twice before playing the video. But the video plays choppy until the entire video is buffered, and after playing about 25% it drifts out of sync anywhere from a half second to two or three seconds. It's really bad. Embedded videos on message boards etc play flawlessly.
Last night I got the 'No HTML5' message that others have been getting (as seen here) which kind of narrowed it down for me as an HTML5 issue. I am part of the HTML5 test group on YT but what made Safari suddenly stop dealing with YT's HTML5 is a proper manner?
I was one of the guys hit with the Flashback, could that have been a factor? I only noticed the problem after the two Safari updates from two weeks ago.

Some songs which I recorded from cds and downloaded at 256 from iTunes Match are not playing all the way through.
I've tried deleting and redowning but the problem is still the same. I have checked the Get Info / Options - stop times and they are Ok.
In most cases I still have the original CDs but I'd like to know if there is a cure or whether I have done something wrong.

Since last few weeks I am having strange problem in safari. Whenever I try to view youtube videos embedded in any site facebook, udacity etc I am keep on getting error saying "Unexpected error occured please try again later" or videos just stops playing by itself behaving its finished. Its very annoying problem. It happens in direct youtube site also.

Completed the Safari 5.1.4 update late last night and since then when trying to use youtube. Videos will play sometimes. Other times they will play but I have no control over volume, search bar, play buttons and the like. Also the biggest issue I am having is the like, share, add and other buttons don't work.

Recently I've noticed that my macbook pro is having a very hard time on youtube. The video player goes black but the audio continues. It freezes my computer. The video will sometimes play if I stop and reload the page multiple times in succession. I have a mid 2009 macbook pro running OSX lion 10.7.3

When playing music suddenly the rendering stops for several seconds and then it continues without any action from my side. Maybe the problem only shows up when my MacBook comes to the standby mode, but nevertheless, I never had this problem before and it really restricts the possibilities of enjoying music played by iTunes.

I run multiple user accounts on my Tiger, these help me organize my documents and settings depending on different things I do. I recently re-installed the system, keeping old accounts and settings, but ever since every time I have iTunes playing on one of the accounts and log into a different one the sound goes off. Any idea how I can change it, as I used to be able to switch in between accounts without music being affested.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThis is really really starting to annoy me now. I'm watching a movie, and suddenly out of no where, it starts stuttering. It stops playing, misses frames, sound gets off sync with video, overall kills the movie experience. Checking activity monitor, I see mds.app going crazy thrashing the hard drive. What the heck Apple. I don't need spotlight updated every 10 minutes. Is there a way to set times where it scans my computer? I rarely even use spotlight, most of the time I use it to launch programs. Plus, most recent files I really don't need to search since I know where I put them. Please Apple, add some more options for spotlight for heaven's sake. I looked into spotlight options and it's a pathetic splatter of simply selecting which folders you want it to *display*. I want to make it only index at twilight times, or only if I'm not using the data heavy programs like the video player. I don't really want it turn it off though, as I use it sometimes and it's been helpful in finding things. I don't know why Snow Leopard doesn't address this, since it seems like the same interface that's going in 10.6.

Up until today I have been watching them no problem, now every single one i have clicked on says 'This video is currently unavailable'. However I can watch them over the same wifi connection on my iPhone4 no problem. I havent downloaded any new software or been on any sites other than Facebook, so can't imagine whats up with it. Please help I've only has it 5 days.

So for a while I've had AT&T DSL, and it works great. But in the beginning it didn't. All the time, the DSL would lose connection or something so the dsl light would turn red on the modem. It was really frustrating, and we had multiple people come over to try and fix the the problem, but it was never resolved.
That whole time I was mainly using Safari, and it only happened when I was using Safari. Once I realized that, I stopped using it, and went back to firefox. I had no problems with my internet up till now. I tried using safari recently because I really liked the speed because I have snow leopard (I was using safari a bit while I still had cable internet and no problems). The same thing is happening again.
The DSL light suddenly turns red on my modem/router (it's a 2 in 1) while using Safari. It just happens randomly- i cold be surfing for a minute, and then it will just cut out. I have Mac OS X 10.6.2, and it has all the updates. I'm also running the most current version of Safari. I've just tried to reinstall safari, but it still is doing this.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1545, and Safari has been working perfectly up until this last week when I went away. I left my laptop at home with safari running, and I left the laptop on while I was gone. When I got home and clicked on Safari (the laptop had died, which closed all of my programs), the window pops up but then it freeezes and stops responding. When I click on the window, a smaller window pops up asking me if I would like to close the program or wait for it to respond, and when I select close program, another window pops up saying that the WebKit2WebProcess.exe has stopped working. I have tried starting the computer in safe mode and nothing is working. If I reinstall Safari, I run the risk of losing all of my bookmarks. What should I do?!

For the past few weeks I have been experiencing some issues with Safari. Namely when playing youtube videos on full screen (and especially on 720 or 1080 resolution) the video playback in the beginning stops while the audio playback continues. After a few seconds or a manual pause the video and audio start playing but then the video playback is jittery and every few seconds starts and stops. Additionally when listening to streaming online radio, safari stops the playback unexpectidely and every efford to restore the stream fails - even after restarting safari, safari "remembers" the last few seconds of the stream and will only play these.

Safari hangs on print process. Starts "preparing" but never stops preparing. Clicking cancel leads to a continuous "canceling" which never stops. Must force quit safari.

On a day-to-day basis I run: Adobe PS, INDD, and AI, Microsoft Entourage, Firefox and iTunes. Just recently, after an upgrade to Leopard, I added Things and Simplify Media to the list.The problem that happens before (on Tiger) and now (on Leopard) is command+tab switching stops functioning and Expose hot corners and shortcuts stop working.
I'm pretty sure this isn't a Finder crash because before, on Tiger, I could quit+restart Firefox and everything would be back to normal. Almost as if some shortcut had causes the system to act differently or there was some app dissonance?
But now, with Leopard, nothing I quit will cause these two features to act properly until I do a restart. Both features (command+tab switching and expose) are very necessary for my work flow. I have checked SysPref to make sure keyboard shortcuts are default and Univeral Access to make sure assisted devices is turned off.
Just downloaded MacKeeper onto my 2011 MBP. Suddenly when I open safari, every page stops responding almost immediately after loading. The pages load from the bookmarks, so I know that the connection is good. Once a page hangs I can open another page, which then also hangs.

Since upgrading to Yosemite I'm experiencing the following issue:
- After some time Safari stops opening URLs via Wifi connection. Restarting Safari doesn't work.
What works is switching to another Wifi connection (sometimes switching back also solves the issue)
What can I do to get a reliable Safari connection via Wifi?

On Youtube there used to be a Subscription bar that would have all the recent video's by the people you have subscribed to in and you could skip to the next video in your subscription etc. Now it seems to have gone for me though and I don't see any way for skipping to the next video in your subscription without going back and clicking on subscriptions then choosing the video. Is it the same for everybody else or has anyone still got the subscription bar there?

If I click on a video, the comments and everything will load, but the spot where the video itself should be playing is just a black screen. Researching this problem, it seems that it's usually a firefox issue, but I'm having it on Safari.
Youtube is working on Firefox, so it's not just Youtube being down or something. Also, I can't see embedded videos from Youtube on forums or anything.
Things I've tried and have failed:
- Resetting Safari (clearing cookies/cache)
- Logging out of Youtube
- Resetting my computer
- Turning off my ad blocker
- Changing my I.P. (probably stupid, but just in case I got super banned from youtube somehow)
there is not audio in safari, it plays the video but the audio its not working, and its only in safari because Itried with Chromo and it worked
