My Safari window on my iMac keeps opening but then the pages won't load fully - for eg, the start page comes up with the apple homepage which starts highlighting blue as if it were opening but then sticks halfway through this process.

For example, facebook loads in this way (image attached).
I have flash player installed and updated. Do i need to reinstall flash ? or put some other extensions to make pages load properly ?

i bought a 15 inch mbp 8 months ago and will never look back. however, recently my safari browser has stopped working properly. when i try to load pages they will stop part way or not load at all. i will have to reload the page several times usually, just to see one page. i downloaded firefox to see if this would work better but it has the same issues. now i am at a standstill going back and fourth between the two browsers trying to check my email and face book once a day, which is annoying because of how long this takes, especially when it doesn't work at all. i think my computer may have a virus but i don't know a whole lot about computers

Go to drudgereport.com, go back to gmail.com and it works. This is happening with all websites. Sometimes they'll work, sometimes they wont. View 7 Replies View RelatedI am Having some issues with Safari (I am using 4.0.5), if I open up a website the screen stays white like it normally does for a sec to load a web page but the loading icon keeps spinning and spinning and spinning....... until I click the "X" stop icon and reload the web page. As soon as I click the reload icon the webpage loads up instantly, it is getting really annoying and would be great if anyone has a fix. This doesn't happen all the time, but it does happen frequently and then be fine for a few web pages and then start up again.

It's like 80% of the time, I would open a video on youtube and the video would seem to play normally. The buffering bar (gray bar) would move before the red one and the video plays normally. But around 20seconds to a minute after that, the video would stop playing and both the gray and red bars would be at the beginning of the video and the spinning thingamajig would be there and the video cannot be played at all. This started about 2 months ago. It progressed from only a few videos but now I can't even watch a trailer properly.
I have the latest safari version and everything in my mac is up to date.

So i had not used my laptop in about a week because of an issue with safari..When i get to https sites (totally random) have a box to enter something like a cc number or address as i start to type safari gives me the busy wheel for infinity...let it sit for hours one day, never stopped. had to force quit. relaunched, same thing on the same box. cleared history and cache, rebooted and tried again.happened on multiple websites on random boxes where i needed to enter some info, was always on a https site though.
Second issue, went to use my computer again, launched mail. none of my accounts are syncing. iCloud, exchange, gmail..all show most up to date from the last time i used it over a week ago. let it sit for hours, still no sync. got it to update by taking all accounts offline then back online. went to send a test message. hit the send button and mail locked up completely!!   Â

I've been having this weird problem with Safari for almost two months now even before the 5.1.4 update. I even went to Apple Genius with my macbook pro and they said the problem is minor and should be fixed with the new update (5.1.4), but the problem still persists!Â
Basically, whenever I go on YouTube for EVERY/any video and click on the "more info" button to look at the information spread on videos, all the remaining texts and links are "invisible." I have to literally highlight everything in the information spread in order to permanently display the texts, links, etc after enlarging the information tab. I've tried updating everything (Safari--both 5.1.3 and 5.1.4, OSX, repairing disk permissions, all settings are on in Safari, etc) to NO AVAIL! It's so frustrating and annoying. I'm not that tech savvy, so I don't quite understand what kind of problem this applies to whether CSS, JAVA, Flash, or whatever else. A genius bar representative said it's not Flash (which I also updated and reinstalled a few times), since I can load and watch videos perfectly fine. He was able to reproduce the problem on one of the macbook airs at the store and that's when he said the problem should be fixed with the newest update. Chrome and other browsers work perfectly fine with YouTube on my MacBook as well.

I have set [URL] as a top site. However the Citibank page does not display correctly when viewing all of my top sites. The error message for the Citibank page reads "Your browser is not accepting cookies." When i click on the page, it does fully load. Â
Citibank is the only page that does not display correctly within the top sites window display. I have attempted to changed the cookie settings with no success. Is anyone else expierencing this problem with Citibank?

View 3 Replies View RelatedOn two different computers, Safari will occassionally (although it's getting more frequent), not load a page. I'll click on a link or a bookmark, it will put the address in the toolbar and the progress bar goes across, but it will stay on the current page. I'll reload the page and get the same effect (correct address, progress bar goes across, previous page) The toolbar has the new address, but the page will be the old page. Â
Quiting Safari resets it and it automatically goes to the new page upon reopening. Is there a way to keep Safari from doing this?
