Since yesterday, Youtube hasn't been working for me when I use Safari.
If I click on a video, the comments and everything will load, but the spot where the video itself should be playing is just a black screen. Researching this problem, it seems that it's usually a firefox issue, but I'm having it on Safari.
Youtube is working on Firefox, so it's not just Youtube being down or something. Also, I can't see embedded videos from Youtube on forums or anything.
Things I've tried and have failed:
- Resetting Safari (clearing cookies/cache)
- Logging out of Youtube
- Resetting my computer
- Turning off my ad blocker
- Changing my I.P. (probably stupid, but just in case I got super banned from youtube somehow)
YouTube not working properly with Safari. Flash Player and Safari are both up to date. When launching a video on YT the video loads slowly and is very jerky. Evertything works fine with Firefox.
I CANNOT get YouTube videos to play in Safari (5.1.7). The only plugin that MIGHT be an issue is Ghostery but I have youtube as a site that's NOT blocked.

In Mac Safari 5.0.6 the fullscreen button has stopped working for some YouTube videos (which it has previously worked for). I click the button and nothing happens... as if it wasn't even clicked. This only happens on some videos though... not all of them. And the ones that do not work in Safari do work in Firefox.

Recently I am unable to see video on youtube. I do hear the sound of the video but the screen remains black.the same videos work perfectly on google's chrome on the same mac.
I am a Bible study teacher who has been able to greatly enhance my lessons with YouTube resources. When we studied Paul's travels, I found a video of how the Romans built their roads with video of still usable Roman roads. It made the drier history come to life. That is, it did until YouTube changed their policies last month. I had a program simply called Downloader that worked wonderfully on my iPad to download videos, and then I could AirPlay them out. There now seems to be nothing working for iPad, so I am trying to find an iMac Downloader for YouTube. It doesn't have to be a free one, just a working one.
For some unknown reason no YouTube videos will play in Chrome anymore. I have not installed any new extensions or anything since it was last working. YouTube is working fine in every other browser... Also tried uninstalling and reinstalling and restarting my iMac of course, a no go.
about 3 or 4 days ago while surfing on YouTube I suddenly noticed that I can no longer press anything on the player anymore, no matter where on the flash application I press, it always just pauses the video. Even when I go over the volume control or the play button, they don't highlight in red anymore.
This is very annoying since I can't control the volume, fast forward, rewind, set higher resolution, click the google ads away... nothing works It just pauses the video when I click.
I emptied the cash of Chrome and restarted my Mac but nothing works.
I tried Safari and YouTube still works properly there.
I am using the latest version of Chrome (Beta 5.0.342.9).
On Youtube there used to be a Subscription bar that would have all the recent video's by the people you have subscribed to in and you could skip to the next video in your subscription etc. Now it seems to have gone for me though and I don't see any way for skipping to the next video in your subscription without going back and clicking on subscriptions then choosing the video. Is it the same for everybody else or has anyone still got the subscription bar there?
Since I've upgraded to Safari 5.1.5 YouTube videos take forever to load, or never load at all.I do not see this problem in Chrome or Firefox.I've tried deleting my Flash Cookies (read online that it could help), but it hasn't changed anything.Anyone have ideas as to what's preventing YouTube videos from loading quickly as they have done in the past?I like Safari, and hope to continue using it; but at the moment it's simply unusable for my needs.
So I rebooted my Mac after installing some software updates. I then go to YouTube... but there is a problem, it looks funny. I can't watch any videos because it says "Hello, either you have JavaScript shut off or you don't have the latest version of Flash Player Installed"
1. I tried installing Flash again, nothing 2. Checked Javascript, same thing happened. Firefox works well I guess.
Every time I visit Youtubes home page my CPU locks up or safari crashes. It has been crashing a lot only over the last 3 days. This youtube thing has been going on for 1 day so far. I am on Leopard and everything is up to date.
i've been testing youtube's html5 beta on my aluminum macbook, 2,4ghz, 2gb ram, nvidia 6400m, OSX 10.5.8 after reading everywhere that it was less resource intensive than flash video, in fact, most of the things i've read said it was a huge performance boost. Nevertheless, after checking activity monitor I get Youtube with html5, around 95.0 CPU usage Youtube with flash video, around 65.0 CPU usage. So, whats the problem with my mac?? why do i get this results when lots of people are saying they get around 15% cpu usage with youtube html5 an safari 4?
Some YouTube videos just wont load. The counter of the video counts up to 00:04 and then resets to 00:00 again and again, while the loading wheel in the video box just spins. Firefox plus others - works fine.Â
after updating safari it keeps freezing on youtube Â
I tried to reset safari , re-install it , remove all extentions but i still have the sae issue  I also tried to re- install flash player click to flash  but no change Â
I have a Mac OS X version 10.5.8 and Safari won't play any youtube videos on youtube. However on some other sites linked videos will play. I've tried (multiple times) to uninstall and reinstall Adobe Flash Player to no avail.
I'm having some YouTube trouble. When I play a video on YT, Little Snitch prompts me for "url..." at least twice before playing the video. But the video plays choppy until the entire video is buffered, and after playing about 25% it drifts out of sync anywhere from a half second to two or three seconds. It's really bad. Embedded videos on message boards etc play flawlessly.
Last night I got the 'No HTML5' message that others have been getting (as seen here) which kind of narrowed it down for me as an HTML5 issue. I am part of the HTML5 test group on YT but what made Safari suddenly stop dealing with YT's HTML5 is a proper manner?
I was one of the guys hit with the Flashback, could that have been a factor? I only noticed the problem after the two Safari updates from two weeks ago.
Lately I've been having trouble watching videos on YouTube. They stop and stutter a lot, to the point where I have to give up. At first I discovered that The Google had put me in their HTML5 beta program unbeknownst to me. That was causing some problems as well so I opted out of it for the time being. Â
I fired up Activity Viewer and saw that when I'm experiencing the problem the process called QTKitsever -(703) Safari Web Content is maxing out my CPU bringing my Macbook Pro to a screaching halt (note I checked a second time and the -(703) had changed to -(812) for some reason). Safari seems to work fine otherwise, but as soon as I go to YouTube and try to watch a video the process kicks in and my Mac chokes.Â
