Safari keeps reloading pages and then eventually shows "can't view webpage" I tried installing firefox, but it just crashers when i try going to websites. I've removed all internet plug-ins and get the same results. The last major updated that i did was the java update for the flashback virus that was going around.

i have a early 2008 octo mac pro, with it im using a philips 220ws, the problem i'm having is that scrolling a page be it safari, firefox or a pages doc. it seems to jutter along and doesnt move as smooth as my mac book,and when typing into either msn messenger, pages or even text edit letters seem to lag behind what im typing, ok it may only be for a secon and about 2 letters behind burt it gets annoying worse when back spacing. does anyone else have the problem or possible fix? im not using anything more than than the word processor, safari and msn at a time
View 2 Replies View RelatedI went to log my little sister on webkinz and it just stopped loading. It's worked for months in the past in both Safari & Firefox. Now all of a sudden it's just stopped loading. It tells me the page isn't found. I have tried google and clicking on the links that way and it still comes up with the page can't be found. My adobe flash player is updated to 10. something I'm running on Firefox 3.0 & the latest Safari. All other pages load with out any issues. It's just webkinz that doesn't work. I've also cleared my catche, cookies all of that. The only thing I haven't done is uninstall & reinstall it all.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else noticed that Safari is painfully slow the last few weeks? Mostly the problems are with gmail and facebook, but all sites are slower than Firefox. With both gmail and facebook, I can login fine, but when I click on something (a mail message, a person, a picture), it times out.
I've tried resetting safari several times to no luck. Firefox works fine. I'm having the same issues on my mac mini as well as my MBP. Both have 4GB Ram.
I'm having major problems with certain pages loading in Firefox and the same pages will not load in safari.
In fact they load some days and then not the next. I'm fine on my other mac and on my PC but when on my MacBook Pro I have problems.

I used to have a name on this site but haven't used it in 4 or 5 years so I had to create a new one. Anyway, I started having a problem with Safari today. Every time I would go to ESPN or gmail it would freeze up, the spinning rainbow would come up and I would have to force quite the app. I thought it may just be a problem with Safari so I downloaded the latest FireFox and Chrome and to my surprise they began freezing up too doing the same thing. I've got a 13" MBP w/ the 2.53 GHz Core 2 duo and 4GB RAM. I ran a software update yesterday afternoon/evening when prompted to, but didn't check to see what it was. I do know it was one that didn't force me to do a restart.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI began to have this same problem on my old MacBook within the last year...but I now have a brand spanking new MacBook Air (as in 1 week old) and it's worse than ever.
Extremely often - sometimes 2 out of 3 webpages, it seems - the browzer says it can't find the server or otherwise won't open a page (takes veeeery long to do so. Then eventually gives me a "can't find" screen when I try to click around.). There's nothing wrong w the internet - it works just fine on my husband's computer. Sometimes it helps to switch browzers but mostly not.

View 5 Replies View RelatedFirefox' site rendering is much more fluid than Safari's. Safari loads the BACKGROUND again and again with each click completely upsetting the eye. Firefox has the background steadily black as it is and loads the randomized image properly without any kind of irritation.Is there a way to make Safari load pages more efficiently like Firefox?Or is it just a rendering of all WebKit browsers that behaves like that?

About a Week ago I noticed I was having issues on certain web pages with opening links within the page. Example: A webpage im having a lot of errors on is Gunbroker.com If I click "add to my watch list" safari just sits there and does not open the page. Same for Firefox. Other links on the page work fine. I tried this site and others on my other macbook and it works just fine. Random links within webpages seem not to work.
I have tried to reset safari, clear caches, verify permissions and fix errors on Disk Utility still no fix. I also reinstalled firefox just not safari because of my favorites.
Any Ideas? If this has already been discussed please let me know I will try to find a thread. I did do a search but could not really find much pertaining to this issue.
Recently our laptops at home won't connect to wireless internet. I have a Mac and my mother has a PC I believe, either way neither will allow us to load internet pages, both, however, say we are connected. I'm assuming since both computers are doing this it has something to do with the modem or router. Is there anything we can do to fix it right away or do we have to get ahold of our internet provider for them to fix it?

I have a mid 2011 iMac, OS X 10.9.4 and i recently installed maverick.
For some reason,using both Safari and Firefox, it can't connect to most websites and if it does the pages don't fully load( pictures and videos won't load) but my network works fine with other device like my phone and I'm still able to download updates. Ive tried restarting in safe mode, clearing caches, Safari without extensions.

I have tried all your online support facilities to try and gain an answer to this highly irritation and obstructing technical issue with YOUR software. Safari tabs keep automatically reloading - it appears you are well aware of this technical issue as there are people complaining on the community (most of which I cannot follow as I am not an IT expert) - where is your support? Who's brilliant idea was it to have Safari reload pages without asking? You realize we lose all data inputed into data fields when that happens? I seriously hope they got fired for sabataging us.

Safari on my iMac just started doing this strange thing where it repeatedly loads particular webpages before crashing and I get the message "Safari quit unexpectedly". Any ideas what I can do to stop this? I've already tried resetting Safari which has cleared my history and the cache and deleted all cookies.

I waited a long time to upgrade to Safari 5.1 because the first time I installed it, it kept my fan on constantly / ate up all my CPU. I deinstalled and got the previous version. Finally, when no longer able to watch BBC content, I upgraded and got 5.1.4.
Safari used to work great. Now it decides that it has to force reload all pages about once every 40 minutes. It dumps all my cookies so I have to sign back into everything I had open - the facebook, Netflix, twitter, email, etc. It doesn't even remember what Netflix movie you were watching so you have to rebrowse - just because of the force reload. And if you somehow miss clicking on every open tab at the time to start the reload, then the next time you go to that tab it will start all the reloads again. Sometimes I just force quit Safari altogether and restart, clear my whole cache and dump all my cookies. Then I can get a clean hour out of it.
It takes up endless time to suffer through this bug and I see that it has been a bug for well over a year. What, if anything can one do about this? Why hasn't it been fixed?

Since a while for some reason safari decides to reload all my tabs open in the browser. A sandball pops up and the webpages I am currently working in turns blank. When I switch to another opened tab this one turns also blank and reloads. This is pretty annoying and consumes a lot of time. How can I overcome this problem? My system is a MacBook Pro early 2011, OS X lion with all updates.

I'm new to Mac (as of Oct. 3rd), but I'm a long-time user of Firefox. I notice that when I have FF running for long periods of time, and I go to, for example, xbox.com to check out my friends list on the computer, often times the page shows up as plain text, no graphics or images or anything. Then I come here to create a post, and all of the buttons and formatting tools appear as plain text as well, instead of the images/buttons. I don't regularly visit a wide variety of web-sites, but the one I mentioned earlier seems to consistently trigger it. Usually the only way I can get pages to display correctly again (no matter where I try to go) is to completely quit Firefox and reopen it. I included a screen shot so you can see what it's coming up as, vs what it's supposed to look like. I've never had this problem with any websites as long as I've been using Firefox until just recently. [URL]
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I use Google to search for something and click on a result, then navigate back to the search results, the link that I just clicked shows up as visited (it is a different color). However when I refresh the results or search for the same results again, that very same webpage shows up as unvisited (same color as all other links on the page). I've narrowed this down to specifically an issue with Google, or at least not browser-wide (visited links are being remembered on CNN.com). I'm using Firefox 3.0.5, history is being remembered for 30 days in preferences. I've tried logging out of Google and searching as a guest and it still doesn't work. I've verified that it works correctly in Safari.

Also, I tried to delete a line from a Stickie and it reappears on startup. It's just in my user profile. I created another test user and it didn't happen.
