View 1 Replies View Relatedi have a G4, serial number qt21106cl3v. i just installed os x 10.2.3. i cant get on fb or any site that uses flash. it says for me to download shockwave. ive tried and it wont install. i tried to download a new browser, like firefox, or another version of safari and i have no luck.
i cant decide whether its a virus or what. i just got the computer from a yard sale and its in excellent condition. i had to reinstall os x though cuz it had no os. any ideas?? you can find additional info by searching for specs through the serial. i have no prior knowledge of macs and am trying to learn quickly.
also, as in the heading, safari keeps crashing when i try to download any kind of new browser, and the auto updates arent working either.
I have a new iMac with Leopard. When my files were transferred from my older iMac, Safari didn't load. I downloaded Safari, but two days later it disappeared. Now when I try to download Safari from the web I get the following message when I select the Hard Drive as the destination:
"You cannot install Safari 3 Beta on this volume. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update."
why can't i get the download to install on my macbook pro for the air port express ?

Much advice but not able to launch Safari. Also unable to INSTALL 10.5.8 update. I'm looking for Input Manager, but also am unable to find this folder on my system. Using MacBook 10.5.2. Should I be trying to install 10.5.3 or a lower version?

I'm getting a prompt to install the latest update for OSX and Safari. Can download it okay but when it gets to 'configuring' it stalls. Not doing anything. I have to hold the power button down to shut down then start the system up again. This has happened three times. Anyone else have this? Anyone know what is up with it?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI didn't expect to have compatibility issues with this combination, but I am stuck. I was experiencing some small problems with Safari after upgrading: downloads would launch a new empty tab rather than an actual download, and I would get graphical glitches loading pages from top tabs - so I uninstalled Safari and downloaded a new copy. However, on re-installing, I get a message informing me that I need at least MacOS 10.5.8 installed...
Has anyone else found this? I did an upgrade install of Snow Leopard, and other than a few 3rd party apps being caught out, all is well, and I am enjoying an otherwise noticeably nippier system. As Safari was working previously (unsurprisingly), perhaps this problem stems from an OS compatibility flag within the Safari installer itself, similar to that found in 1Password recently, that could be altered within the installer package to allow installation - But I am guessing, and I don't see why I am having this issue in the first place given the amount of testing of Safari leading up to Snow Leopard.
I'm trying to update my Macbook Pro to the new 10.7.4 I have downloaded the update twice (no interruptions during download) and when i click to restart the computer to install the update, the update dosent install. I keep getting an error message saying the download is corrupted, when the update tries to unpack to install.

Updating lion and the blue installation bar has moved to abou1cm from the right and has reached the "Âoving items into place..." location. The blue color is still flowing like it is installing, but the bar has moved for over an hour. I'm afraid to shut the machine off.
View 3 Replies View RelatedOS X 10.5.6 at the moment. I get the following error if I try to update using software update:
I can update other software, like iTunes, fine.
Softwar Update says the update is 286MB in size, I can only find the 442MB delta update and the 729MB combo update on the internet.
Every time I try to download it, it says error about 80mB into the download.
Then it tells me to look for the package through Finder but I can't find it.
And it happens EVERY TIME I try to download it.
It's driving me nuts that I'm wasting my precious internet on this pointless downloading! I could have had the update by now!
I am just wondering where can I download the update 10.5 for ibook g4? (safley, no viruses) or where can I buy it and how much ?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIm new to MAC and i was wondering if I could pre-download the MAC update in my windows desktop then save it in my portable HD then copy it over to my MBP.
If so, can you point me to the link where i can get 10.6.2. My MBP has 10.6.1 right now.
I ran software update, and it stated 10.6.3 was available. I went to download it and it said it wasn't able to, I then refreshed and it was gone.
View 24 Replies View RelatedThe OSX 10.5.5 Software Update won't download or install to my MacBookPro. The error message tells me that it can't be saved and that I 'do not have appropriate access privileges. The Installer package has been moved to the Trash. To try again, open the package from the Finder.'
The access privileges point is a bit odd as I am the owner and sole user of this MacBook. There is no sign of the Installer in the Trash so I can't get it from there.
Can I download an update for my Mac 10.5.1?

I have recently upgraded from 10.4 to 10.5, everything has been fine apart from I now cannot seem to be able to download anything. When I click on a link to download, the page loads for a second and then gets stuck on a grey screen and the download window doesn't open. I have tried different browsers and all of my updates are current but still nothing.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to set up a HP PSC 2355 that is on the network shared from a pc. There are two macbooks that will be using it. They are both running 10.5 software and don't have snow leopard on them. The one set up and works fine, but the other I can't seem to get a good driver for when setting up the printer. The download from HPs site doesn't just have the driver, it's an entire package that you have to install. I found info on Apples site about a printer update :Mac OS X 10.5.3: Printer drivers included in the HP Printer Driver Update v1.1.1
which shows my printer as one of the ones that would be updated, but I can't find the link to download the update.

I just bought a new MacBook and I'm updating the software (ironic). The issue is that both software update and iTunes are saying there is a new version, but it won't finish the download. "The update could not be verified. It may have been corrupted during downloading. The update will be downloaded and checked again the next time that Software Update runs." There is a note at the bottom that iTunes: Partially Downloaded (22%)I've rebooted twice, and I have looked in the download folder, but I can not find this partially downloaded file
