I am not sure why my Safari browser goes blank and I have no idea why. I was working before but it now only shows "Blank page" after I upgraded a new version of Safari about 3 months ago. Â
I was using my computer normally, it started to move slowly, so I properly shut it down. After leaving it off for a few minutes, I started it up again. However, every time I press the power button, it comes on and there is just a blank gray screen. No folder with a question mark on it, just a blank gray screen.
I have a mac pro 2010 a1186 tower. I turn it on I get a mac chime and a light gray scren no logos or any thing. I've tried resetting nvram and a firmware update using the recovery cd.
On April 15 tried to open 2 PDF files on separate websites resulting in blank browser screen. Uninstalled current version(10.1.3) & reinstalled again from Adobe site. Same result.
My safari screen went blank and a pop up with the safari logo said i may be infected with a serious threat and to call a support number. I didn't and quit safari then reset safari.Â
I'm trying to open a PDF file from a very secure website and all I see is a gray screen when I click on the link. Why does this happen? How do I fix it?Â

I have built a charity website for the Gurkhas [URL] there is a secure members area which requires the member to put in their email address and password. One particular elderly member with an 9 month old Apple Mac running latest version of Safari finds that when he puts his email and password in and hits 'Sign In' the input lines go blank.Â
The software is Serif Webplus X5 and is working with Windows and IE and most other Apple Mac/Safari users. I am not an expert in the Mac/Safari environment and have remotely logged on to this members machine and cannot see anything obvious.Â
I and Serif have both tested the particular webpage with Safari in a windows environment and several Serif Forum users who are Mac users have tried the page with no problems.Â
I am using MacBook Pro with OS X 10.9.2 and Safari 7.0.3. After an update of OS X, I cannot open pdf within Safari, It appears a gray screen. I tried several procedures in the forums, delete the plugin, restart, etc, but nothing.

After installing Snow Leopard, I noticed that when I select a web page from the Safari startup grid (medium 6 web pages), the screen turns white with many vertical lines. This lasts for approximately 4-5 seconds before the web page loads. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

Whenever I click on a PDF in my Safari window all I get is a blank screen. For some reason it has stopped opening them in Preview. I need to look at a number of PDF's. If I could download them I would but these links do not give me that option. What do I do?
Unfortunately I bumped the switch on the power strip that my Mac Mini (1.42ghz G4, OS X 10.3) is plugged into while it was running. Now it won't boot up. All I get is the gray screen with the gray apple logo and the spinning wheel but no OSX.
My iMAC is about 18 month old, and I had a software upgrade notification for my Safari browser. When I clicked on it to upload, a program from dll.ultimatesoft was seen on the screen, and asked me to approve and install. That message will not go away. The drop down box bounces up and down the screen. I re-booted, but it is locked. I tried typing in a different web address, and was semi-successful, till the ultimatesoft screen took over again in 60 seconds.
My Safari homepage is blank. Bookmarks and toolbar are there but my Earthlink page and address bar are blank. The Safari version is 3.1.2 and the OSX is 10.4.11 My Internet Explorer (which I rarely use) and Firefox are working fine.
New to Mac computers. When trying to open computer after being in sleep mode, I clicked the mouse to open the password screen, & a blank blue/black screen appeared & the mouse timer( colored circle) appeared, as if to be waiting. I had to unplug the computer to reboot it. This has happened twice in 2 days.
My work and Home MAC PRO are both doing the same stuff. The screen goes black and when I have an opened window it repeates itself when I drag it throughout the screen?
I'm on my first mac, bought last week. I'm using the new Safari 4 browser and its slow. Anyone else notice this? I'm an old firefox user but dont want to go back because I like the mouse pad gestures in safari.
Occasionally while I'm working, the safari window I have open will go white and refuse to reload. I'm always able to type in the address box, and if I have other tabs in the same window they won't blank, but I don't know why it acts this way- is there something wrong with the computer? It isn't one specific site that's causing the problem, it happens across a range of pages. I'm working with Lion software.
upon startup i see a gray screen, the apple logo, and spinning gears. Then the apple logo turns into a circle with a line through it and stays that way forever. I call apple support. They got me to run disk utility by booting from install disk. Then running repair disk and repair permissions. Then boot into safe mode and computer works fine...for a few restarts then does the same thing.
Something strange happened to my Mac, I use a USB modem by Orange il. Mac recognized it with no problem and installed the installation package. After installation when Mac recognized the modem again a gray screen appeared and asked to do Hard Reset. I'm using Snow Leopard 10.6.2 and I had no such problems with it. It happened to me once when I had version 10.5 and changed Drivers for usb to use Dfu. I checked the computer, and to be sure I downloaded the new drivers and reinstall it and it still happens when I insert the modem. As soon as I uninstall the modem I can insert it without a problem until I install the drivers and then this Crash happens again.
I have an 2008 iMac that displays a gray screen. I cannot get rid of it. I have done a forced shut down but it wakes up when a key is depressed. I have turned off the power. It will chime but a gray screen, not a spinning wheel or anything else. I was told it might be VMWare Fusion at fault so I uninstalled the program a month or so ago. It was fine until a few days ago. Has the display panel died? If so, is this a dyi or should I pay $$$ to repair it.Â
When I go to a friend's blog and click on "Print," the "Create a New Tab Button" at the top of Safari goes gray and unusable. Usually, I have to Quit Safari and restart it, but today, after printing, the button returned to normal spontaneously
I stumbled on a website today informing me of ways to somewhat speed up Firefox and was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to speed up Safari, which is the browser I use much more frequently. Any tips would be most excellent.
I'm having more problems with my new MAC than I ever did with any PC! I loaded new fonts onto my MAC today and now when I go into Safari and browse the internet, all of the fonts on any website I go into have been changed into some ridiculous font! Why would this happen and how do I restore the default font settings?
I wonder if it has anything to do with enabling FileVault. Anyway, Everytime I logout, the default web browser keeps reverting to Safari, and the default Mail client reverts to Mail. I use Camino, Firefox and Thunderbird.
