When I try from my MacBook Pro (both Firefox and Safari it attempts to launch Quicktime (which just hangs)Â

How do I get Safari to present auto-fill options in text fields like Firefox can.
Seems like a cookies thing but I think not because it presents me with all previous names I've used on other website's text fields before.
For example in Firefox if I go to sites I haven't visited before and I'm asked to type in my new username, as soon as I type the first letter, Firefox gives me options from previous text fields I've filled in before all over the net and unrelated to the site I'm on.
The autofill of my safari is not working! It does not let me remove any remembered username or password, neither will it remember any new ones I typed in. It keeps poping up the dialog asking me if I want to remember the username and password or not, but it won't remember them even though I clicked yes.

I upgraded today to Lion OS and now I can't play my favorite radio stream[1] neither in Safari nor in Firefox. VLC is playing the stream but this isn't so comfortable. Is there something different to Snow Lion in this context?Â
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a site that won't auto-fill. I've deleted cookies, cache, and any reference to the site. I've taken out my keychain entry which I had to enter manually. I sign in manually, click the checkbox that sets the cookie with my login email, and login. It won't ask me to save to the keychain. So I enter a new keychain entry manually, and it won't work.Â

I switched from PC to iMac last week . I am very excited by the performance of Mac OSX and display of the new 21.5" iMac. The only problem I face is that quicktime movies are not played in safari/firefox. Safari waits indefinitely for loading the quicktime movie , firefox shows a big 'Q ?'. Don't know what that means.
This frustrating because I can't view any of the tutorial movies in the apple website. It is ironic that apple's own format is not playing on the new iMac.
The OS is Mac OSX 10.6.2 . Flash is playing well in the same machine. I am new to mac .
I think what I'm talking about are javascript links...when you go to, for example, [URL] I'm talking about the links in the box on the right labeled "Most Watched Video." None of the links IN THAT BOX work for me. By "work" of course I mean go anywhere or do anything. It's as if I'm clicking in an area of a page without links.
This happens for me in other sites with similar links. What gives?!
I've checked Firefox and am running the latest version of javascript. I'm also running the latest version of Firefox 3.6.8. I'm on a Mac OSX 10.4.11 - old system software, I realize, but I simply haven't been able to afford moving beyond this (plus my Mac is a Macbook, 2GB RAM, 80GB HD - old unit).
I can't access Gmail on my Macbook or iMac. They both are connected wirelessly and I have tried Firefox and Safari. Right now it's only Gmail that I can't access but sometimes it's the whole Google domain. I've got the correct DNS settings for my ISP as well as running Safari in 64-bit mode. My Windows PC (on the same router as the Macs) connects to the Google domain fine.

I don't know what my wife did to her 13" white MacBook, but Firefox is slow as molasses. Safari is working perfectly, but all of her bookmarks are in Firefox. I made sure she was on the correct network, than added opendns settings to DNS. I downloaded and installed the most recent Firefox and repaired permissions on the drive. I rebooted - same problem. Random beachballs causing the app to be useless. Safari works perfectly, so it's not an Internet issue. I haven't tried other apps to be sure but right now it seems confined to Firefox.

I'm on my bank website. My login is xtnjohnson -- just like here. Only I mistyped it once, so in autofill/autocomplete (whichever it is), I get a little drop-down showing two options: xtnjohnson or xtnjohson. Â
I want to delete only the second option. I recall at sometime finding a very simple way that involved highlighting the offending entry and hitting either control-delete, shift-delete, command-delete, or function-delete, only I can't seem to get any of those combinations to work. And of course I can't find the thread anymore.Â
The solution did *not* involve dealing with the autofill preferences in *any* way -- I've seen that option and it doesn't help (a) because there's no quick way to find the website where the problem is occurring (my list is long), (b) even when I go through my list, I don't see my bank's url, (c) the place for entering my login appears to be in something like JavaScript, so I'm not sure it'd be tracked in one of those lists, and (d) I don't know that this is properly an "autofill" problem anyway.Â

I would like to know if there is any way I can set Firefox to shut down my mac once all my downloads finish? I was able to find one plug-in for Firefox that will shut down the system after downloading but it's for Windows. One more question does anyone know if this is a feature in another browser?

Okay for FireFox or safari, I'm sorting through ALOT of digital pictures over the net and saving most of them, but rather then opening a page and click on the save image option is there an addon that will auto save all images, bmp, jpeg, tiff, png to a particular folder?
I found some older stuff like this but nothing for MAC.
I know i download all the pictures if they're being displayed in some form, is my computer doing this already and saving them some place I don't know about?
I have set my website up in iWeb (so simple and great) and I have added to the homepage a QT music file for visitors to listen to. Unfortunately however when you do click on the song and then navigate to one of my other pages on the website such as my portfolio, the music stops. I was hoping that the song would play continuously while navigating through the website no matter what page the visitor was on. Is this even possible?

i have this workflow that runs another workflow to be starts on startup and i have it so that my computer starts up at 5:30am so it can run at that time so i don't have to get up so early. everything runs flawlessly the only part that doesn't work right now is that i have to hit the play button for it to work and i want to see if anyone knows how to make it play by itself without me having to hit it so i can stay asleep for another hour.

Everytime I want to select a sound file to move or delete it, I move the mouse over the file, click, and the silly thing starts to play. View 2 Replies View Related...now I don't have the same functionality with iTunes. Basically, I can't use iTunes at all anymore as the interface for my music and videos. Once the external drive is mounted, I can navigate through it and play individual songs, but I can't use iTunes to do that. All my previous Playlists show up down the left side of iTunes, but there isn't any music in them.
I downloaded 2 songs yesterday, made a Playlist out of them, and because the path in the Advanced tab of the iTunes Preferences is correct, it automatically added the songs to the external hard drive. I synced my iPod and it was completely erased except for the 2 new songs. Is there a way to use iTunes to navigate my music like I used to when I stored the information on the internal hard drive but keep the information on the external drive? I have a Mac running Snow Leopard and the latest version of iTunes.
Is this possible, could not see it in preferences.
So when import music or movies to itunes on OSX is plays the media after import.
1. There are albums on my iPhone that don't appear in iTunes after sync. I want to delete them.Â

Have installed Firefox 10.0.2 in my iMac (2.93 Ghz Core i7) using OS 10.6.8.Firefox will not paly any Quicktime videos and asks that Quicktime plugin be installed. Quicktime plug in is not listed in the list of available Firefox add-ons.I do notice in my Library in the Internet Plug-ins folder a Firefox_Quicktime plug-in seems to be listed. When I try to choose it from the drop down list: Install Add-on from File the Firefox add-on is gray and unavailable.I like using Firefox but not being able to see Quicktime videos is irksome. Any clue as to what is wrong and how I can fix it. I have searched the archives and see others have had this problem but other than deinstalling and hoping a reinstall works is there any other remedy.
