Sep 5, 2010Is there a way to make iTunes auto refresh its library? I have 2 MacBooks, a Mac Pro, and a Mac Mini for an HTPC with an external 2TB drive. I have all of our music on the external drive.
Plex Media Server auto-refreshes wonderfully. Just looking for a script or workflow or app or service that will automatically add my new media in my iTunes Library to the iTunes program every 24 hours or so.

Mar 17, 2009I have a Mac mini and a Mac Book Pro. What I would like to do is use the Mac mini as a music jukebox. It will be connected to my stereo to play music. I want to know if it is possible to connect a 1TB external drive to the Mac mini and when I open iTunes have the music from that 1TB drive available. Basically I want to increase my music selection to 1TB of songs to choose from. Is there any software that will let me do this or is this impossible?

Sep 13, 2010My iTunes window is set to Cover Flow, and my songs are sorted alphabetically by Album title. Before iTunes 10, I could skip to albums by pressing the letter on the keyboard which corresponded to the first letter of the album's title. So pressing D took me to "Deadwing", for example. Now in iTunes 10, if I press D in the same way, I get to "Best of Bowie" ('cos it's by David Bowie). Now it seems that suddenly the letter keys now correspond to the artist name, not the album name. Does anyone know how to change this back? I've searched and been through the preference settings etc to no avail.

Imagine my surprise when the third song of the evening was Take The Power Back by Rage Against The Machine. My library is not loaded with any of those bands. If I go to the podcast section of the iTunes Store, find a podcast that I am already subscribed to and click the download an episode, everything works fine. It's just that iTunes refuses to refresh any podcasts. This is not iTunes saying that I haven't listened to a podcast in a while would I like to resume; this is I select a podcast, ask it to refresh and nothing happens. Aug 6, 2010...now I don't have the same functionality with iTunes. Basically, I can't use iTunes at all anymore as the interface for my music and videos. Once the external drive is mounted, I can navigate through it and play individual songs, but I can't use iTunes to do that. All my previous Playlists show up down the left side of iTunes, but there isn't any music in them.
I downloaded 2 songs yesterday, made a Playlist out of them, and because the path in the Advanced tab of the iTunes Preferences is correct, it automatically added the songs to the external hard drive. I synced my iPod and it was completely erased except for the 2 new songs. Is there a way to use iTunes to navigate my music like I used to when I stored the information on the internal hard drive but keep the information on the external drive? I have a Mac running Snow Leopard and the latest version of iTunes.

So with the final release of iOS 4.2.1, I decided to uninstall and install the final version of iTunes. I know that the button "delete" undoes the last line/selection however if the selection is completed/closed by mistake there seem to be no option to go back. "delete" button simply erases what is in the selected area. How can I continue cutting out something from where I was if the selection is closed?
