Safari 5.1.5 Has Suddenly Started To Crash Immediately?
Apr 10, 2012
Safari 5.1.5 has suddenly started to crash immediately without launching.I have reinstalled it from Time Machine backup, repaired disk permissions without success.I have created another user account and it is still crashing so it must be a system wide issue. [code]
Info:
Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8), Quad-Core Intel Xeon
Today Safari started to crash when I go to http://legendas.tv/ I tried to reset Safari, even restarted my computer, but it happens again. I've tested a few other sites, but only this one gets me the problem. The Problem Report says Flash Player Plug-In could have caused the problem.
I have a MacBook Pro with Mac OS X, Version 10.6.8 and Safari has started running really slowly, all of a sudden. I've tried Firefox and Google Chrome, which run faster, but not much. Wi-Fi has been checked and is not the problem. I've emptied my cache and reset Safari. My disc usage is 15%, my system memory says that I have 2.35 GB of free space, and there are no "page outs". All of the programs, on my computer, that do not require internet access run fine. My firewall is off.
I'm currently running OSX (10.4.11) and have been using Firefox 2 for a while now. I finally got around to downloading and installing Firefox 3, but when I try and start it up it crashes with error: [Report] This report also contains technical information about the state of the application when it crashed.
I'm having a problem with the program Gamesalad. I downloaded the 0.9 version and when I try to open it immediately comes up with the crash reporter. I had a backup of the older version so I'm just using that until I find a solution. I asked this on there forums but didn't get any answers. Also on there website it says in the requirements that you need 1GB of RAM, does this mean that you need 1gb available or just in general 'cause I have 2gb and 1.01gb active with just my browser, itunes and older gamesalad open.
My MacMini suddenly started freezing up EVERY TIME I tried to use the number keypad. I figured it must be the keyboard so bought a new one. It is doing the same thing - if I inadvertantly hit a key on the number keypad it freezes and I have to reboot the computer for anythink to work. What's happening and what can I do?
The speech suddenly started speaking all commands and page info. I do not know what is wrong or how to turn it off. As I type this it speaks each letter and key that I pressImac G5 Mac osx 10.4.11 Safari 4.0.4
Out of nowhere viber just started launching taking up the whole screen. How do I stop this and make it start by default as a small sized window? It seemed like it used to take whatever size it was when it was last closed but now it's launching full screen.Â
Many extensions on extensions.apple.com cannot be installed. However, extensions that I installed before, no problem, such as AdBlock, Bing, Echofon. Others, will not install, it will be stuck at installing. And Safari may lose response after a while. I initially noticed that if I try to install YouTube5 which I downloaded myself, Safari will immediately lose response.
Tried solutions:
- Reset Safari - Run OnyX - Repair disk permissions - Deleting all the extensions; extensions I installed before will install, others won't - Deleting Clicktoflash and Glims
For some time now my Safari crashes immediately upon startup. I already tried to remove plugins etc. but no success. See crash report below:Â
Process:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Safari [308] Path:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â /Applications/Browsers/Safari.app/Contents/MacOS/Safari Identifier:Â Â Â Â Â com.apple.Safari Version:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 5.1 (6534.50)
First of all, I know something I did is at fault, not Apple. I had tried the Developer Preview of the newest version of Safari, but found it crash-prone, so I downgraded to the latest regular release for Lion (5.1.7). Now Safari WILL NOT launch. Â
Came back from camping on the weekend, downloaded the update, and Safari crashed upon launch there on after. It launches the application, the loading bar stands still, and a couple seconds later I get this error:Â Â
Process:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â WebProcess [1238] Path:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/WebKit2.framework/WebProcess.app/Contents/Mac OS/WebProcess Identifier:Â Â Â Â Â com.apple.WebProcess Version:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 7534.56 (7534.56.5) Build Info:Â Â Â Â Â WebKit2-7534056005000000~1 Code Type:Â Â Â Â Â Â X86-64 (Native)
I recently upgraded to Tiger and started using Safari 3.1.1. It was working great for a few weeks until I installed a 3rd party add-on. Safari now crashes upon startup within about 7 seconds. I removed all files that this add-on had installed and I tried re-installing Safari 3 and even tried to install Safari 2 to see if that would work, but no go. If I click on anything it will start beachballng until it crashes. I was wondering if someone could give me a list of all the files that have anything to do directly with Safari so that I can delete them all and reinstall. Also, if there is anyone who would be willing to look at a crash report for me to try to figure out what is wrong.
Upon the start of Safari, it resumes the last session and immediately freezes, showing the spinning rainbow and failing to load pages. None of the toolbar options can be accessed. I can only force quit. Restarting the computed accomplishes nothing. Â
Just downloaded MacKeeper onto my 2011 MBP. Suddenly when I open safari, every page stops responding almost immediately after loading. The pages load from the bookmarks, so I know that the connection is good. Once a page hangs I can open another page, which then also hangs.
I have seen a few postings about Safari loading slowly since the upgrade to Yosemite but this is really starting to aggravate me now. I am having no problem whatsoever when loading the same pages in Firefox - which in fact is how I am having to write this posting.Â
Info: MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013), OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)
I'm confused as to why my Safari stopped working. It crashes as I launch it. The report I get is below.
====8<..... Process:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Safari [453] Path:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â /Applications/Mac Applications/Safari.app/Contents/MacOS/Safari Identifier:Â Â Â Â Â com.apple.Safari
When I open Safari 5.1.5 it opens the last page I was in previously, not my designated homepage, which I would prefer. I looked in Preferences to change it, but to no avail. Upgraded to Lion yesterday.
My MacBook Pro would not boot this morning. Did a safe start and then everything worked except Safari. It quits immediately with a screen filled with letters and numbers. If you click on the Reopen it does the same thing. Tried the utilities / Disk Utility / Repair Disk permissions ... still doesn't work.
Several months ago, Safari started blanking. I'll have several tabs open and they'll all go white and when I click on one it reloads and I go to the next one and it's white. I go back to the first one and it is white. Sometimes I get a page reforce load message. I have cleared cache. I have restarted. It doesn't happen all the time but seems to happen in the evenings more than at other times. I have Qwest/Century Link high speed dsl. This is so totally irritating.
I have also noticed that when I click on a link that tries to play a youtube video or if I go to youtube, I have to wait awhile for the video to play - it starts and restarts several times before it actually works. I watched the activity monitor and the Safari Web content process will go from 11 up to around 140 while this is happening and when it drops back down is when the video will actually play with no problem. This can take up to several minutes. It's like a car spinning it's wheels trying to get traction.
In Safari whenever looking for a specific web site, other web sites on the background start to erupt and show up, which I never look for, which has become so annoying. I tried to change the Privacy settings, but all in vain.
Info: OS X Mountain Lion (10.8), MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz, Time Capsule
Google Earth plugin in Safari started to keep crashing after I installed Adobe Flash Player 11.2. The plugin works fine in other browsers (Firefox, Opera, and Google Chrome). The same occurs at home, too.I use Mac Pro at work and iMac at home. Both are on OSX10.7.3, Lion.
Foe the past week Safari has been "quitting unexpectedly while using the .RaisedPanelDoors.tmp plugin"Â

I've tried for hours to find this plugin on the computer somewhere, but I cannot find it. it doesn't exist, or at least appear, in this path as noted in the error report.Â

Ever time I try to download anything from the web Safari crashes and closes down, it even crashed this morning when I tried to download an update for it. Is there a problem with Safari or should I check for other problems . Someone told me to download Fiefox but I couldn't even do that, I'm sorry I actually bought this computr, I'm not the greatest with computers but never had so many problems with the other systems.
