OS X :: Safari Started To Crash When Go To Address Bar
May 7, 2009
Today Safari started to crash when I go to http://legendas.tv/ I tried to reset Safari, even restarted my computer, but it happens again. I've tested a few other sites, but only this one gets me the problem. The Problem Report says Flash Player Plug-In could have caused the problem.
Safari 5.1.5 has suddenly started to crash immediately without launching.I have reinstalled it from Time Machine backup, repaired disk permissions without success.I have created another user account and it is still crashing so it must be a system wide issue. [code]
Info: Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8), Quad-Core Intel Xeon
I'm confused as to why my Safari stopped working. It crashes as I launch it. The report I get is below.
====8<..... Process:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Safari [453] Path:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â /Applications/Mac Applications/Safari.app/Contents/MacOS/Safari Identifier:Â Â Â Â Â com.apple.Safari
When I open Safari 5.1.5 it opens the last page I was in previously, not my designated homepage, which I would prefer. I looked in Preferences to change it, but to no avail. Upgraded to Lion yesterday.
I have a MacBook Pro with Mac OS X, Version 10.6.8 and Safari has started running really slowly, all of a sudden. I've tried Firefox and Google Chrome, which run faster, but not much. Wi-Fi has been checked and is not the problem. I've emptied my cache and reset Safari. My disc usage is 15%, my system memory says that I have 2.35 GB of free space, and there are no "page outs". All of the programs, on my computer, that do not require internet access run fine. My firewall is off.
Several months ago, Safari started blanking. I'll have several tabs open and they'll all go white and when I click on one it reloads and I go to the next one and it's white. I go back to the first one and it is white. Sometimes I get a page reforce load message. I have cleared cache. I have restarted. It doesn't happen all the time but seems to happen in the evenings more than at other times. I have Qwest/Century Link high speed dsl. This is so totally irritating.
I have also noticed that when I click on a link that tries to play a youtube video or if I go to youtube, I have to wait awhile for the video to play - it starts and restarts several times before it actually works. I watched the activity monitor and the Safari Web content process will go from 11 up to around 140 while this is happening and when it drops back down is when the video will actually play with no problem. This can take up to several minutes. It's like a car spinning it's wheels trying to get traction.
In Safari whenever looking for a specific web site, other web sites on the background start to erupt and show up, which I never look for, which has become so annoying. I tried to change the Privacy settings, but all in vain.
Info: OS X Mountain Lion (10.8), MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz, Time Capsule
I opened my safari today and when I was about to type the website that I want to go to I couldn't find the space where you type it at.. I don't know what happened?
Google Earth plugin in Safari started to keep crashing after I installed Adobe Flash Player 11.2. The plugin works fine in other browsers (Firefox, Opera, and Google Chrome). The same occurs at home, too.I use Mac Pro at work and iMac at home. Both are on OSX10.7.3, Lion.
Foe the past week Safari has been "quitting unexpectedly while using the .RaisedPanelDoors.tmp plugin"Â
Process:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Safari [199] Path:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â /Applications/Safari.app/Contents/MacOS/Safari Identifier:Â Â Â Â Â com.apple.Safari Version:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â 5.1.5 (6534.55.3)

I've tried for hours to find this plugin on the computer somewhere, but I cannot find it. it doesn't exist, or at least appear, in this path as noted in the error report.Â
PlugIn Path:Â Â Â Â Â Â /Users/chuck/Library/Application Support/.RaisedPanelDoors.tmpÂ
Ever time I try to download anything from the web Safari crashes and closes down, it even crashed this morning when I tried to download an update for it. Is there a problem with Safari or should I check for other problems . Someone told me to download Fiefox but I couldn't even do that, I'm sorry I actually bought this computr, I'm not the greatest with computers but never had so many problems with the other systems.
Got a hairy one here that I've been working around for ages.....perhaps someone has a real fix for me. If I try to print (or save as a PDF) from a particular web site with THEIR Java "print" button on the web page, Safari crashes. Upon restart of Safari all is well. It stays ok until I re boot/restart the computer. Then the same thing happens. After the first crash of Safari everthing is a-ok. The print function from the Safari menu does NOT crash - it works all the time. sam P.S. Intel box with Safari 4.0.4 and OS X 10.6.2.
I've been using my new Macbook Air for a while, and lately Safari starts to crash frequently, twice a day or more. I've read some earlier posts and have checked my Internet Plugins, as listed below, being not so sure about which to delete. I have however already deleted one belonging to PowerMac as someone said.
Why are iTunes and Safari the two applications I have ever used that are most likely to hang and/or crash? I mean, what's so hard for Apple to make these two very heavily used applications stable?
I have had a lot of issues with Adobe Flash Player causing grief in Safari, and now it is causing it to crash. I am on a clean installation of OS X (just formatted and reinstalled yesterday).
I should point out that I use Adobe CS4 and have Flash CS4 installed. Maybe that is causing a conflict?
It happens about once a day now with Safari. Sometimes it causes my MBP to crash. I know all the controversy about Apple and Flash, but is it this common? I do have the latest versions of Flash and Safari, but is the problem this ubiquitous or is there probably something I'm doing wrong with my 1 year old 13" MBP (4 GB RAM, 2.26 Ghz, 250GB)
Certain websites crash both Safari and Firefox. I have uninstalled Flash and reinstalled several times. I have run disk utility to repair disk permissions, etc., but still have crashes.
I have a mac mini G4 with Mac OSX 10.4.11. I have Safari 3.2.1 and Mac Preview version 3.0.9. Beginning last week when I attempt to print a page or article from online using Safari and Firefox the browser crashes. Likewise, when I attempt to print from a PDF file loaded in Mac Preview, the file crashes. I thought it was a printer issue until I realized that I can print Word documents without issue. I have had no problems with printing in the past, but now I do for no good reason. It is curious that printing PDFs and webpages does not work, but printing Word documents does.

I love safari 5.2 from Developer page. But Safari still crash when I open & read my yahoo mail. Whats wrong with safari 5.2? This doesn't apply in other pages.
For the past week my safari has refused to open and continue to crash each time I tried to open it. In fact, I am using firefox to send this message because I could simply not use safari. Whenever I click to open it, a small window pops up with the following computer jargon:
It started about a week ago. I dunno if it's a problem with Flash or what. But any time I try to open a video on sites such as gizmodo, engadget, youtube, or full episodes from like [URL]. whichever browser I attempt to open it with just completely crashes. This has been getting worse and worse and now it literally happens 100% of the time.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling both browsers multiple times to no avail. I am REALLY dreading reinstalling my entire OS. Is there a way I can completely eliminate flash from my computer? Then I can manually download it from Adobe directly and see if that works.
