Came back from camping on the weekend, downloaded the update, and Safari crashed upon launch there on after. It launches the application, the loading bar stands still, and a couple seconds later I get this error:
First of all, I know something I did is at fault, not Apple. I had tried the Developer Preview of the newest version of Safari, but found it crash-prone, so I downgraded to the latest regular release for Lion (5.1.7). Now Safari WILL NOT launch.
I recently upgraded to Tiger and started using Safari 3.1.1. It was working great for a few weeks until I installed a 3rd party add-on. Safari now crashes upon startup within about 7 seconds. I removed all files that this add-on had installed and I tried re-installing Safari 3 and even tried to install Safari 2 to see if that would work, but no go. If I click on anything it will start beachballng until it crashes. I was wondering if someone could give me a list of all the files that have anything to do directly with Safari so that I can delete them all and reinstall. Also, if there is anyone who would be willing to look at a crash report for me to try to figure out what is wrong.
I downloaded the beta of Safari 5.2 because I was curious, and then I uninstalled it with Appzapper. I reinstalled the current version of Safari (5.1.7) without troubles, but now when I launch it, Safari crashes and it says that Safari quitted unexpectedly. Here is the entire crash log.
I haven't installed any plug ins, altered the accounts, or done anything different in mail today. For some reason, it all of the sudden stopped opening - can't even get a main screen up when I launch it. I've tried deleting plists, holding shift on start up, checked for any problematic mail being downloaded via my iPad, repaired permissions and even tried to launch yesterday's version from Time machine. I've tried opening Mail without being on the internet too. I have an exchange account and a mobile me account on there, and both have been working perfectly until today. I have a 2009 Unibody Macbook Pro running 10.6.4. My crash report is almost twice the length of the allowed word count so can't post it - is there a specific section I should cut and paste?
I'm currently running OSX (10.4.11) and have been using Firefox 2 for a while now. I finally got around to downloading and installing Firefox 3, but when I try and start it up it crashes with error: [Report] This report also contains technical information about the state of the application when it crashed.
I have Guitar Pro 5.3b1 on my system, which is claimed to be snow kitty friendly. However, every time I open the application, it immediately crashes. Any ideas? I can't really think of any alternatives either, other than finale, and that's just overkill.
I'm running OSX.4.11 on a Dual 500 G4. I've recently lost the ability to use Acrobat 7 Professional for some reason. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing, running all updates as well. I've trashed preferences. I've tossed /Library files. It still won't launch. Distiller will launch but won't distill at all. It just processes then crashes. Seems to have begun when I installed Adobe Reader 9. I also have CS3 & 4 apps installed which run fine. I know the conflict lies somewhere in all that but don't know exactly where. I am able to generate PDFs from other apps like Quark but I need the editing abilities that Pro offers.
For the last several days my iMac will freeze a few minutes after launching, then proceed to freeze my entire iMac, forcing a hard reboot. I ran Activity Monitor when launching iTunes and noticed that before the trouble started simply mousing around or scrolling could take up 25% of my processor. Then it would jump up to 80-105% then it would fall to 0% and the system would freeze. If I then immediately used 'Force Quit Applications' I could force-quit iTunes... but only after the system itself had frozen for 10-30 seconds before finally giving me the pop-up asking to make sure I wanted to force-quit. (iTunes Helper never seemed to take any processor power.) iTunes 10 is definitely the culprit.
My setup: 2007 Core2Duo iMac 4Gb RAM, iTunes with 29,000 songs running 10.6.8 with latest updates. I have 185Gb left on my 750Gb drive. I've run Onyx to clear out all caches, and I've even trashed iTunes and downloaded a fresh copy from Apple and reinstalled.
I've had great success with Excel 2011 on OS 10.6.8. Up until today. Now, Excel crashes on launch, tries to recover, and crashes again. I read the previous comments about a) hold down shift key and launch and b) delete the /plist file. Tried both, no success. I can still launch Excel 2008, fyi. And Word, etc, all other MS office products...

Many extensions on extensions.apple.com cannot be installed. However, extensions that I installed before, no problem, such as AdBlock, Bing, Echofon. Others, will not install, it will be stuck at installing. And Safari may lose response after a while. I initially noticed that if I try to install YouTube5 which I downloaded myself, Safari will immediately lose response.
Tried solutions:
- Reset Safari - Run OnyX - Repair disk permissions - Deleting all the extensions; extensions I installed before will install, others won't - Deleting Clicktoflash and Glims
I downloaded steam to my iMac and every time I load it it crashes and I get the option to reopen it, when I do It happens again. I have tried 30 times and to no avail, restarted twice and turned of and on 3 times makes no difference.
Safari 5.1.5 has suddenly started to crash immediately without launching.I have reinstalled it from Time Machine backup, repaired disk permissions without success.I have created another user account and it is still crashing so it must be a system wide issue. [code]

Upon the start of Safari, it resumes the last session and immediately freezes, showing the spinning rainbow and failing to load pages. None of the toolbar options can be accessed. I can only force quit. Restarting the computed accomplishes nothing.
Just downloaded MacKeeper onto my 2011 MBP. Suddenly when I open safari, every page stops responding almost immediately after loading. The pages load from the bookmarks, so I know that the connection is good. Once a page hangs I can open another page, which then also hangs.
I have seen a few postings about Safari loading slowly since the upgrade to Yosemite but this is really starting to aggravate me now. I am having no problem whatsoever when loading the same pages in Firefox - which in fact is how I am having to write this posting.

For the last week or so I've been having an increasingly regular problem with Mail. Upon launching, the app opens a dialog window saying, "Mail can't connect to the Google account 'Gmail'. Enter the password for user (username)." Then when I enter the password, the app crashes. Sometimes clicking the "Cancel" botton allows the app to open, but sometimes that results in a crash as well. Also, when I can launch Mail successfully, sometimes when I try to send mail, the outgoing mail will sit in the Outbox unsent.
I've been getting these warnings with both my Yahoo and Gmail accounts. Until a few days ago I was using Yahoo as my primary account, but the inability to send mail caused me to switch to Gmail as my primary. After a couple days of smooth sailing, I'm now getting the same errors with my Gmail.
I have tried all the suggested fixes except reinstall the OS to no avail. Safari works fine in other users on this computer so I assume the problem is something in the user library.
My MacBook Pro would not boot this morning. Did a safe start and then everything worked except Safari. It quits immediately with a screen filled with letters and numbers. If you click on the Reopen it does the same thing. Tried the utilities / Disk Utility / Repair Disk permissions ... still doesn't work.
I seem to have a problem with safari, it mainly hangs on launch where I usually have to wait 5 minutes for it to recover, this is the log i get:
Mar 29 13:53:33 Lynnerup Safari[202]: QUERY-HANG-DETECTED - time: 3.182763, DB size: 181256192 Mar 29 13:53:35 Lynnerup Safari[202]: INSERT-HANG-DETECTED: Tx time:3.319087, # of Inserts: 1, # of bytes written: 24392, Did shrink: NO Mar 29 13:53:54 Lynnerup Safari[202]: INSERT-HANG-DETECTED: Tx time:12.832515, # of Inserts: 24, # of bytes written: 747312, Did shrink: NO Mar 29 13:54:19 Lynnerup login[214]: USER_PROCESS: 214 ttys000 Mar 29 13:57:43 Lynnerup com.apple.WebKit.PluginAgent[249]: Debugger() was called! the debugger was called entering here. I also seem to get hangs whenever i'm maxing my system, safari typing what I wrote in say google up to 5 minutes after I wrote it...
I have spent most of the day today scouring these pages for a solution. I have followed myriad instructions written by B Noir and others. To no avail. Whenever I click the Safari icon, the hourglass appears for a few seconds, but the browser won't launch.
Safari suddenly won't launch on my 10.5.8 system on my Powermac G5. The dock icon bounces for a few seconds then gives up. I haven't installed any new software recently.I've tried deleting all caches, preferences and plugins, repaired permissions, etc. It doesn't work when logged in on my spare account either.
I first installed and launch Safari 4 on my computer there was a really cool little intro graphic. I want to see it again/look at the code but I can't seem to find it! I looked inside the Safari package and couldn't locate it, so does anyone know how to find it?
Yes, I've read older posts on this problem, updated to the latest version, yet the Homepage feature of Safari (Lion 7.3) simply refuses to function. Worked just fine under 10.6.x. I set my Homepage to 'current page' when it is up, or I copy and paste the address (done both). My New Window display is set to Homepage, and New Tab is set to blank. Yet when Safari is lauched, it defaults to the last page open before shutdown of the previous session, not the Homepage. Command N will open a new window with the Homepage just fine. Why won't it do that when the app opens?
I am running Safari 5.1.7, Mac OS 10.7.4 on an iMac Intel Core 2 Duo machine, and Safari was working fine until this morning when Safari starting crashing whenever it is launched; I have the same set up on a Macbook Pro and Safari is working fine.
Having read a few posts i have changed the setting for Safari to 32 bit mode which has enable me to launch it, however as this is a 64bit machine that was working fine until this morning that does not really seem like a solution more like a temp fix
