Out of nowhere viber just started launching taking up the whole screen. How do I stop this and make it start by default as a small sized window? It seemed like it used to take whatever size it was when it was last closed but now it's launching full screen.Â

About 4 days ago, iTunes started launching on its own after my iMac has been sitting idle for a while. It doesn't start playing music, it just starts up the main screen. I didn't install any plug-ins or any other software prior to this happening.
My MBP has this issue every once in a while where I have to hold the power button and force shut down. Randomly the volume keys/brightness etc. stop working and i can't open apps or shut it down normally. Everything still works though (can still function in open applications) Anyone know what the problem is? It fixes when I force reset.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'll be using my Macbook Pro and the screen will suddenly go black (but still dimly lit), my music will stop, and I can hear that the computer is still "on". I have to press the power button to shut it off and turn it back on. Usually it comes back on slowly and is fine. Just a few minutes ago, the same thing happened, however the screen went blank white instead of black. The music stopped, and the computer was still "on" but I couldn't do anything until I turned it off and back on.

How to stop pages opening in Full Screen Mode?This occurs on most software and is very annoying when you have a large monitor with one small picture taking up the whole screen.PLUS trying to reduce the size of the screen means the cursor has to find a tiny one pixel area in the corner in order to reduce the screen size. This takes up a lot of time when working on several images.(enlarging the cursor size is not an answer and makes it worse because it's hard to exactly align the cursor with the text or else it edits the wrong line of text).

I started to use alarm clock 2 an alarm clock application. But for some reason even though I deleted all the alarms I had set to go off, one still seemed to linger on. And it is still lingering on even though I have deleted the application.
Every morning Itunes launches and starts playing music at 8am and there is no indication that there is another application launching it. I've looked in widgets? that didn't work and I cannot seem to find where the problem is so I can fix it. Also this thing, whatever it is is intefering with my computer for instance I cannot rotate with cmd+tab, through the open applications anymore.
How do I remove any application association with the F8 key? F8 is currently launching iTunes when I hit it and since I don't use iTunes on my work computer and need F8 for other functionality this is interfering with my workflow. I do not see any association with the F8 key in System Preferences > Keyboard Preference Pane > Keyboard Shortcuts. The only thing listed there is: Move focus to staus menus ^F8 I also do not see any way to remove the F8 association in any of the iTunes preferences.Â

I've set up my MB to mount several NAS volumes that I need frequent access to (my documents and photos, for example) on boot up by first connecting to the server and then adding those servers to the "Login Items" list in my account. This caused finder windows for each of these NAS volumes to "pollute" my desktop with every boot. I therefore checked the "hide" checkbox on the list . . . but that hasn't stopped them from opening.

I have a MacBook Pro with Mac OS X, Version 10.6.8 and Safari has started running really slowly, all of a sudden. I've tried Firefox and Google Chrome, which run faster, but not much. Wi-Fi has been checked and is not the problem. I've emptied my cache and reset Safari. My disc usage is 15%, my system memory says that I have 2.35 GB of free space, and there are no "page outs". All of the programs, on my computer, that do not require internet access run fine. My firewall is off.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a 24" mid-2009 iMac, bought in June. It's behaving oddly over the past week or so. It fails to wake on sleep on the first attempt, but always succeeds on the second. When I say fails though, I mean that it *does* wake up, but goes back to sleep again after a few seconds. The other issue happened today, when I woke it up, in a cold room, the fans started up at full speed (I assume). It sounded terrifying to me as my iMac has never got that loud - not even playing games. I restarted it and it was the same, but died down after a while.

It seems to make arbitrary choices when opening new windows, often placing new windows floating over fullscreen without switching spaces or opening them in other spaces underneath fullscreen apps so I can't find them. Sometimes it switches to a clean Space whist the window opens in a different Space altogether. I'm running Adobe software- CC '14 applications so I don't know if this causing the problems but most of the issues seem to be with the finder and apps that actually run fullscreenBP Â
I'm running a MBP with an external monitor- it's a one monitor set up, not dual so it shouldn't be causing the issues I'm having. I like the idea of spaces running fullscreen apps and windows- the tech has a lot of potential but seems crude and irrational presently.

When on my iMac my iTunes app will launch by itself - and after a time will start playing an audio selection, the choice of which depends on what area of iTunes was the last one I was on. Why does iTunes auto-launch? How can I stop it from auto-launching?Â
BTW, iTunes is the only app that does this. Not sure if this is an iMac or iTunes configuration issue.

I have noticed a pattern with my Mac that is becoming quite disturbing. It has taken to shutting down spontaneously for no apparent reason that I can deduce. I have dusted it out, performed the reset procedure and even removed programs that I thought would have adverse effects.

For a while now I've had a recurring problem that I can't figure out. The buttons on my mouse will suddenly stop working; I can move the cursor around the screen, but the mouse buttons (all of them, plus the scrollball) do nothing.
It's not a problem with the mouse (so it might not belong in this forum), because I've tried other mice and had the same behaviour. I don't know if there's a pattern, but I think I've only had the problem since I've started running the new Football Manager 2011 game.
I have had my iPhoto library on a USB drive attached to Time Capsule for some time with no problems. I recently upgraded to iPhoto '09, and still had no problems, so not sure that's related. The library updated ok, and I played with Places and indexed some Faces over more than one session, no problems. Upgraded iPhoto on all the macs and tested their access to the library ok.
Suddenly now, none of the network macs can open the library. iPhoto launches with no pictures visible and has a spinning beechball. I have to Force Quit iPhoto. Same on all macs.
I then copied the library from the networked drive locally to a mac, and iPhoto could then open it perfectly ok. So I guess the library is not corrupt either.
Any ideas why this network setup would suddenly stop working?
