Why are my iphoto and itunes crashing every time I open them? This is a new problem on my Mac Mini. Have the latest software on my Mac Mini and the latest iLife sotware. After opening Mac HD folder, made the mistake of attempting to change name next to house icon (Home? perhaps) along left spine (spine that includes 'Desktop' 'Documents' 'Applications' etc.). The computer started to run as if adjusting to the name change. From that point on, iphoto/tunes/aperture starting opening as if it was the first time asking for set-up preferences.
No photos/music can be found in the folders. I can still see my folders on the external hard drive that the tunes/photo are on, but they will not open when I open the programs. Any suggestions on fixing the links? I tried in vain to change the name back. The error message says that the previous name is already taken.
I just imported some photos into IPhoto 09 and shortly afterwards my IMac did a hard shut down. Now when I open IPhoto I get the following error:
The Photo Library nees to be upgraded to work with this version of IPhoto.
After that I click on upgrade and get the following msg:
Can't open current photo library using this version of Iphoto.

I have iphoto that comes with my macbook pro. It used to work but since some day it stopped working. I checked my Application/ folder and it's gone (maybe I mistakenly deleted it?). Anyway I checked Trash it's not there either. I tried to re-install iphoto and got the following message
The installer could not locate the data it needed to install the software. Check your install media or internet connection and try again or contact the software manufacturer for assistance
it won't open now. It wasn't letting me edit. When I clicked on a photo a black screen would appear.

Problems with iphoto 9.5.1 ... It says updating iPhoto and its been like it for weeks since it updated its self.
Since iPhoto updated to 9.5.1 cant open it. it puts a message up saying iphoto is being updated, but if i log out and log in to another user account i can open it no bother....
Didn't it used to be able to? Just double click a .mov file and it would open? Tried to double-click some .mov files, doesn't open. Copy and paste to desktop and open from there, it works.

I got my open item computer at Best Buy and was using it as a back up computer. Then I just now started using it as my primary computer and I have noticed that iPhoto is no longer on it. That is wrong if I have to purchase these programs myself that should already be installed.

I can't open my iPhoto
View 12 Replies View RelatedMy iPhoto has always worked fine. Now I can't get it to open. Light under it in the dock is illuminated but the app won't open or close. Tried to restart computer but message indicated I had to close iPhoto first. I tried closing everything else and shutting power off, then turning back on. Illuminated iPhoto app on dock remains and I still can't open or close. Is this a common problem? I've never had this happen. I have over 5,000 photos

I recently installed Mavericks OS X 10.9.3 (13D65) and now I'm unable to open iPhoto ..I tried to update from the App store but I am getting the following message..'This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled'. I have only ever had one Apple ID. I had the hard drive replaced 2 years ago at the Apple shop.
I have several iphoto libraries, yet lately i have been having difficulty in moving between the libraries. Regardless of which library I choose, Iphoto continues to open the last library opened..
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have photos from my camera that i have imported thru iphoto.
I then go into photoshop and go File>Open>Media>Photos and it comes up with my iphoto pictures.
It gives me the option of clicking on the events or albums, but after that it does nothing. I cant select a photo, or open an event when i am viewing all events. Why?
Also, is there a way i can view the iphoto library files without having to open iphoto and look thru there. Thats one thing i miss from windows is being able to go thru the 'backways' and look at the files.
It only bounces once in the dock and says "App Quit Unexpectedly.."
I tried to reinstall it with a .pkg but it's the same result...I can restore the application with the restore disk if I have to...But all the other iLife apps work...
