I checked my Application/ folder and it's gone (maybe I mistakenly deleted it?). Anyway I checked Trash it's not there either. I tried to re-install iphoto and got the following message
The installer could not locate the data it needed to install the software. Check your install media or internet connection and try again or contact the software manufacturer for assistance
My iphoto won't open and when I try and select it when uploading a picture it says "open iphoto 5 or later to see photos from this list" I have the most recent iphoto!

Problems with iphoto 9.5.1 ... It says updating iPhoto and its been like it for weeks since it updated its self.
Since iPhoto updated to 9.5.1 cant open it. it puts a message up saying iphoto is being updated, but if i log out and log in to another user account i can open it no bother....
Didn't it used to be able to? Just double click a .mov file and it would open? Tried to double-click some .mov files, doesn't open. Copy and paste to desktop and open from there, it works.

I got my open item computer at Best Buy and was using it as a back up computer. Then I just now started using it as my primary computer and I have noticed that iPhoto is no longer on it. That is wrong if I have to purchase these programs myself that should already be installed.

View 12 Replies View RelatedMy iPhoto has always worked fine. Now I can't get it to open. Light under it in the dock is illuminated but the app won't open or close. Tried to restart computer but message indicated I had to close iPhoto first. I tried closing everything else and shutting power off, then turning back on. Illuminated iPhoto app on dock remains and I still can't open or close. Is this a common problem? I've never had this happen. I have over 5,000 photos

I recently installed Mavericks OS X 10.9.3 (13D65) and now I'm unable to open iPhoto ..I tried to update from the App store but I am getting the following message..'This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled'. I have only ever had one Apple ID. I had the hard drive replaced 2 years ago at the Apple shop.
I have several iphoto libraries, yet lately i have been having difficulty in moving between the libraries. Regardless of which library I choose, Iphoto continues to open the last library opened..
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have photos from my camera that i have imported thru iphoto.
I then go into photoshop and go File>Open>Media>Photos and it comes up with my iphoto pictures.
It gives me the option of clicking on the events or albums, but after that it does nothing. I cant select a photo, or open an event when i am viewing all events. Why?
Also, is there a way i can view the iphoto library files without having to open iphoto and look thru there. Thats one thing i miss from windows is being able to go thru the 'backways' and look at the files.
It only bounces once in the dock and says "App Quit Unexpectedly.."
I tried to reinstall it with a .pkg but it's the same result...I can restore the application with the restore disk if I have to...But all the other iLife apps work...
i use Preview to open most of my pics outside of iPhoto. my question is this- how can i get the icons of all my jpegs to show a little thumbnail of the actual pic? right now, i don't know what the pic is until i open it because all that is displayed is the generic thumbnail icon for preview. a bit of a pain...
View 4 Replies View RelatedIt seems that every time I open iPhoto, it creates a new folder named "Library recovered Photos 1, ...2, ...3, etc". This folders are filled with unix files with very long names in alphanumeric characters. I first notice this when my HD was getting filled to capacity and I was barely adding any files to it. I found this folders in the Pictures folder (I imagine it's the root level for iPhoto folders and associated files) and went ahead and deleted all 180 GB of them. Got back my HD space and iPhoto works fine without them...but I have noticed that every time iPhoto is opened it creates a new folder with this files in them. None of my other machines have this files created in them. What can be causing this? I've check Preferences and there's no option to turn this on/off.

Since a couple of days, I'm unable to open photo applications such as iPhoto, Aperture or FCE. I'm getting the same king of error report as below. I've tried all kind of solutions from the web but still no solution. I wonder if someone would have the missing file (Library not loaded: /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreText.framework/Versions/A/CoreText) and could send it to me? The whole folder CoreText.framework is even missing. I have a MacBook Pro 15" mid 2010.
