Intel Mac :: Screen Goes Black For Just Second And Then Returns To Normal Desktop
May 15, 2012Screen will go completely black for a second then back to normal display.Makes no difference what application I'm using. Within last 10 minutes went black for 4 times. Does not power down, just screen goes black.Contacted support via phone, they had me shut down, unplug power cord, then plug in and start. Appeared ok while I was on phone with support.Didn't use imac for 1 1/2 hours, now I notice it going black again.

Apr 13, 2010I've been waiting for these Arrandale 15" MBPs since December '09, and in my excitement and haste I didn't assess all the options when I ordered my new laptop.I ordered the base 15" model with no changes to it, but I really need the high-res screen. 3 questions for you lovely people:1) Once I get the laptop, I could return it and change it for a one with the hi-res screen. How long does it usually take to return a Macbook Pro and get a new one back again?
2) If, once I recieve the laptop, I drove to my nearest Apple Store (about 60 miles away- I'm in UK), could I simply hand them my unopened laptop and ask for an exchange for one with a hi-res screen?
3) I noticed a hi-res, anti-glare option. Does anybody know if the anti-glare option still has that ugly grey surroun

This does not happen when I boot my Windows (Bootcamp) partition, so I assume this is some kind of OSX driver error. This started to happen only after I installed the latest patch (10.9.3). Jun 20, 2008Hi! Im new to the forums but i really need help with something and i was hoping someone here could help me out. So I just installed Tech Tool Deluxe onto my macbook and then shut it down later. I went back to use it again and when i turned it on a login screen appeared asking me to put in my password. I did that and the screen turned blue (looking like it was loading) and then went back to the login screen. Every time i put in my password it just takes me back to the login screen. I have had my mac for a while and i dont want my hardrive to get wiped out so what do i do? Thank you for looking

Mar 24, 2012I recently upgraded my iMac from Leopard to Lion.Â
At times, and this has been happening quite frequently, my screen automatically jumps to Mission Control mode. Sometimes, it comes back to Desktop mode by itself but at other times I have to click on the window to get back to Desktop mode. Its almost like the OS is playing games with me.Â
Just to clarify, I am not invoking the Mission Control program by either using the keyboard, mouse or from the Dock. The OS automatically switches to Mission Control mode.Â

Apr 25, 2012Suddenly on start up from sleep mode I have prior windows of my email client and my browser (Entourage and Chrome) frozen. I have both of these set as start up items and new versions will open and are operative but the old windows for both remain like a screen shot. Along the menu bar is a 'ghost' image-a menu bar in faded gray and slightly blurred- behind the exiting one that is operable. I have repaired permissions, re set pram...it will not go away or move. I am on mcp OS 10.7.3. Have not installed anything newm in last few days.

Jul 5, 2012Ok, so I ran into this app called iSpeak it that sells for $1.99, that I'm very interested in and that is for iPhones and iPads, but I would like the version that is for Mac desktops, which sells for $4.99. My question is, does the desktop app have all the other languages that the app for the iPhone and iPad has? I see that the app version for desktops says only language is English on the description. It wouldn't make sense that the app for iPhone and iPad has other languages and that the iSpeak it app wouldn't have it for the desktop.

Jun 3, 2014I have a Dell UP2414Q connected via HDMI to my late 2013 15" retina MBP. The built in display is off (clamshell mode).
Sometimes, the display randomly blanks and the monitor reports no signal. This occurs continuosly for a few minutes and then the display goes back to normal. Sometimes I have to plug in/plug out the monitor to make it recover. /var/log/system.log shows no logs while these blinks occur.Â

Apr 16, 2012When I awaken my G5 in the morning (when its chilly) it goes back to sleep almost immediately. This may repeat twice before it finally stays on. I initially thought it was my HD, a new purchase at the time. However, I have switched to another internal drive and have been experiencing identical results. I've run TechTool Pro, Onyx, Applejack, and Disk Utility, thinking it was a HD issue, but having switched drives, I'm thinking it must be a hardware issue of some sort.
