Leaving for a backpacking trip shortly and would like to know the community's comments on the best solar chargers out there. Compatibility with a 3rd generation shuffle would be preferable.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there was a solar-panel type thing that you can leave out in the sun all day, then bring it in to charge you laptop during the night. The solar chargers I found online seemed to be only for active use (you plug your laptop in and it charges the battery in while you use it, extending the battery charge). Are there solar chargers that retain the energy they absorb? And if so, would they be powerful enough to charge a MBP (late 2008, so I don't have the 'wonder' battery).

I have put the wrong driver on my IMac running OSX 10.7.3 and need to go to an older driver. I've tried to find out where the drivers are but no sucess. There is a driver for XBox 360 game controllers that I loaded and it appears in System Preferences but controller hardware is not recognized by the driver even though the System profiler see's the XBox 360 controller listed under USB devices. I'm trying to remove the current driver and load an older driver which some people say works. I can't find any system file with the name XBox 360 in it on my computer but when I try to install an older version of the driver it doesn't allow me because it says I have a newer version on my drive. So in general, how do you remove non functioning drivers?

I suddenly have a problem where I can't add or remove programs from the dock. When I try to drag a program icon to the dock it won't stick to it and shows a "+" next to it in green. When I try to drag an icon off the dock it shows a shadow of the icon that won't go away. I tried making a new user and the same behavior occurs in that user. I tried finding my com.apple.dock.plist but couldn't locate it. I was able to find com.apple.dockfixup.plist and tried deleting.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am no longer using a Mail account which has no messages in the inbox, sent, etc., but I I've done a Save As of many of these messages into other folders outside of Mail on my computer, but are still Mail docs. Also, I can no longer access the server hosting this acct. and messages. Mail warns me that if I remove this account "all messages will be deleted permanently from your computer." Sounds like I should leave it be even though there are no messages left from this acct. in Mail. Would removing this Mail acct. actually result in all the messages in other non-Mail folders on my computer disappearing?

I was not seeing the Java Update show up in my Software Update, so I installed the Java Security Update 2012-001 manually. What I did not know was that I did not have Java before, and now I do. How do I remove Java and get back to a clean Mac OS X Lion installation? I have a Macbook Pro, early 2011 version.Â

Used Migration Assistant to transfer stuff from old MB with Leopard to new MBP with Lion. It transferred Office 2011 which is fine, but one problem, I completely forgot that I used my last of the 3 software registration keys on the old MB. Now I can't open Office 2011 because it keeps asking for a registration key. So I though this would be as good of a time as any to try Pages and that's what I'm doing. Now I want to delete all the MS stuff but I can't find an Uninstall file anywhere in any of the MS files. Even if I do find an Uninstall file will it let me run that file without the software being registered on this computer? Do I need to remove all the MS stuff manually?

I'm in a small office that has 7 Mac minis all connecting to sets of files shared by a mac miniserver on osx lion server.Â
On one of the mac minis, when you access the shared files by clicking on the server, it automatically connects with an administrator password that should not be used on this computer. And I can find no way to remove this authorization. In Keychain I removed all the miniserver references but to no avail, the macmini keeps connecting to the shared files with the admin name and password. I memorized another user that's also authorized to the same files and it connect correctly, but when i diosconnect again and reconnect to the server, it does so with the admin name/password, not the new one I just memorized.Â
I could of course change the administrator password but that would mean to change all the passwords which would be very complicated.Â

is there no way to remove 'core' applications like Safari, AppsStore, PhotoBooth etc. NONE of which I want or need ... I have favoured applications which I which to continue to use and these others are just clutter which take up space in the applications folder .....Â
trying to delete them just throws up a "this is needed by the System" message ..... You can't even move them or hide them .... I find it difficult to believe that either AppsStore or Safari is needed by any system (apart from the Apple accounting system).... Whatever happened to the 'user friendly' Macs I've known for so many years. Do I really have to put up with Apple deciding what applications I want or need?Â
