Leaving for a backpacking trip shortly and would like to know the community's comments on the best solar chargers out there. Compatibility with a 3rd generation shuffle would be preferable.
View 4 RepliesI was wondering if there was a solar-panel type thing that you can leave out in the sun all day, then bring it in to charge you laptop during the night. The solar chargers I found online seemed to be only for active use (you plug your laptop in and it charges the battery in while you use it, extending the battery charge). Are there solar chargers that retain the energy they absorb? And if so, would they be powerful enough to charge a MBP (late 2008, so I don't have the 'wonder' battery).

The Apple one looks tempting as it comes with 6 batteries and 29€ isn't too much, plus, as usual, it looks brilliant. I looked at some 3rd party chargers as well ranging from 20€ to 40€. None of them was stunning or special by any means. Cheaper ones usually came with two or four batteries and some came without batteries. I don't really need it for else than Magic Mouse, occasionally for something else too.
View 23 Replies View RelatedJust upgraded to the iPhone OS 3.0 on my 1st gen iPod Touch and when I turn the volume up whilst it's in the iPod Hi-Fi, the volume dips when I've finished turning it up... When I push the volume up again the volume slider on the iPod touch then moves down to where it dipped.it's quite hard to explain! Basically, when I turn the volume up to 50%, the sound dips to 25%.... the slider still shows 50% until I press the volume up button and it would move the slider to 25%. (If I wanted to play my music at 50% I would have to turn it up to 75% and wait for it to dip to 50%!)I have reset the iPod touch and restored it but the problem still exists. OS 1.0 and 2.0 didn't have this problem. Does this happen to anyone else? Is there a solution?

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy girlfriend and I attended the Toronto Raptors game last nightFor those of you from Toronto, we parked below the Novotel Hotel on the Esplande. Since both of us were coming from work we had are valuables in the trunk. (we both placed are stuff in the trunk prior to arriving at the location). Well when we arrived back to the car we noticed the back passenger side window was smashed in and the trunk was empty. We weren't the only ones who were robbed in that lot, there was at least one other car that was broken into according to the hotel staff. The police seem to think it was a drug addicts looking for items to sell for drugs and that it is not a coincidence that it was during a Raptors game. The lot has no cameras due to construction being done, so for those in Toronto who frequent Leafs or Raptors games do not park there, it's a cheap alternative but not worth the risk.

I was in my third period class, which was gym and when i went to go look for my ipod since we had free choice of exercise, i didnt find my ipod but my headphones were in my bag, and my phone was there to. nothing has corroded (yet) but the magsafe itself feels extremely hot to touch after 30mins or so of use.

I'm looking at getting a replacement, and bought one on ebay which turned out not to be as described and didn't work properly, so it has been returned. I'm looking at this one, and the seller tells me it's a 65w charger, but there should be no problem with it, despite the PB being rated for a 45w charger. Anyway, the question is, will this charger work with my 12" PowerBook, or do I have to keep looking? I'm trying to conserve power now.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I've had the iBook for almost 3 years now and the charger seems to flick on and off. Sometimes I'll have to rotate the plug or twist the cord in a certain way in order to get the charge going.
Obviously, I'm past my free 1 year coverage by Apple so I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me if this is an issue with the charger or the laptop.
The charger shows no wear and tear, the cord and all the pieces are still intact, nothing has fallen off or come apart.
Are there any tests I can run to see where the problem lies?
