Feb 26, 2012I have been using Gmail and now want to make use of IMAIL on my new mac book. First Mac I have had. HOwever, all the inbox folders I have in gmail are reproduced in IMAIL. I have set it up as IMAP ok and have followed every instruction on both apple sites and on gmail sites. No success. Do these folders not get set up automatically in IMAIL?

May 10, 2012can I revert back to previous version 10.7.2 as I have updated software to 10.7.3 and now my printers won't work. They are Canon MP630 and Canon PIXME Pro 9000 mk ll..I have contacted canon and they have sent me the latest udates and said they are compatable upto 10.7.x but the aren't compatable with 10.7.3 the update failed. Can I revert back to 10.7.2 as I really need to use my printers

Jun 15, 2012The latest update for Java is causing issues on our website, disabling Mac users on OS 10.6 and 10.7 from uploading or downloading images using a java applet. We know it is being cause by these recent updates:Java for OS X 2012-004 or Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 9.Is there any fix for this or a way to revert back to the previous version of Java, without having to re-install Mac OS? We are currenlty at a loss of how to address this issue and we have many users impacted.

I realize that I will have to run a series of updates to get from 10.6 to 10.9 but why won't software update allow me to update to the next OS version in the sequence?

Jul 23, 2008I have a 2006 Mac Pro and recently my firewire ports stopped working (front and back). I did a little searching around found a suggestion to try resetting the Mac's PRAM and NVRAM by holding the Cmd-Option-P-R keys down while booting. I have tried this numerous times and it doesn't seem to do anything (i.e. the Mac just loads OS X and doesn't re-boot like the instructions say). I'm using a MS Wireless Comfort Keyboard for Mac. Can you reset using a wireless keyboard?
Since I wasn't making any progress with that, I was toying with bringing in the Mac to a genius bar. Never having used the genius bar before - how does it work? Do I bring the computer in and leave it with them? Do they work on it while I'm there? I don't have an extended warranty so do they charge time and materials? I'm wondering if that might get awfully expensive and if I ought to just buy a PCI-X firewire card instead.

Dec 6, 2014I recently did a manual reboot after my MacBook Pro had frozen, and instead of the usual Apple and loading icon, it gave me the flashing question mark on a folder, which I've never encountered before. I looked up some possible reasons on my PC, and after reading that there's a problem with my HD I tried looking up how to back up my files so that I can do a clean reinstall of Yosemite (latest ver.). However, I've never used anything like Time Machine or anything else that could back up all my files, so it didn't sound like I could do anything about that at this point. I've also tried going into Disk Utility and attempting to repair the disk image. There was only 2 available, disk0 and the base system.Is there anything I can do that will repair my HD without erasing all my files?

MacBook Air :: With Screen Tilted Back - Front Left Lifts Slightly Off Table?
Jul 20, 2010I have the rev. C Air, recently bought. It works fine but I have noticed that when I tilt the screen back almost all of the way that the front left side lifts slightly off the desk. I can see that the front left pad is not touching the desk. Is this an idiosyncrasy of the computer? Do others have the same symptom? Of course once I place my hands on the computer and start typing it's not really a problem, but I can certainly feel it click down to the desk or if I lift my hands off and slightly push down there is a space there. I think it is a weight issue, because once I pull the screen slightly towards me the space disappears as well as the issue.

2. Connect the external SSD drive to MBP
3. Back up the entire OS and files with time machine
4. Remove the enclosure, take out ssd
5. Put SSD in mu MBP, replacing HDD
Will this work?

May 5, 2012I'm trying to install OS X Lion on my 27" iMac.I've erased the HD using Disc Tool in recovery.HD shows no errors.I've tried Internet Recovery (it loads up, but wont start the installation)I've tried creating a recovery usb on another similar iMac, and use it on this. Same error, only differance is it keeps "loading" when installing, but nothing happens. Same error in log. When I try to start the Reinstall I get an error in the installation log that goes something like this:
Install Mac OS X Lion[354:9c03] Couldn't find app store version, falling back to hardcoded Can not connect to /var/run/systemkeychaincheck.socket: No such file or directory Apple Care suggested: Trying another network (doesn't work).Install with the original Snow Leopard DVD first, then upgrade (can't do that, the DVD is lost and a DVD from another friend is not working) What can I do to get around this error?
