OS X V10.7 Lion :: Get Sound Before The Last Update?

I have latest OS, latest safari & latest flash player installed. However when I go to sites with flash content I get no sound and the audio control is greyed out. (in both safari and firefox) I did get sound before the last os X update. If I go to same pages with my ipad, it uses a different player (i pressume html 5). How can I force safari / lion / webistes to use just html 5 (is this even possible ) and it plays sound fine.  I have tried unintalling flash but then I get no video as well.Â

I recently updated to 10.7.3 my lion macbook pro system and my sound is muted (I hear that it works only on startup). When i try to modify it appears a grey-black icons of the sound and a disallowance symbol. I try to reinstall the combo but nothing changed. I even try to put an audio jack inside and outside the port but it still doesn't work.

We just updated our G5s here at the lab (QuickTime and Garageband ), and now the sound output is extremely distorted and crackly regardless if its a video on cnn or a song off iTunes. Tried Zapping the PRAM and repairing permissions, even reinstalled QT from the standalone installer on apple to no avail.

Power PC 17" Powerbook, 1.67 speed, 1GB Ram, 9GB available, stay up with all updates...all of a sudden only Internal Microphone and Digital In appear. Did Permissions before and after update, tested with plugs in and plugs out of line in and line out, so Whassup?

Sound was working fine on mac mini (mid 2010) until I updated to 10.7.4. Now Toshiba TV shows up as an option under sound, but no sound comes out. I tested that my stereo system is not the problem - it still plays sound through hdmi from the blu ray player.I tried resetting PRAM and SMC on the mac mini, neither worked. I followed all the troubleshooting steps prior to resetting the SMC and the problem persisted.

My sound does not seem to be working following the latest update to Mavericks (10.9.4). I am running a 2012 Retina Macbook Pro. Sound does not work with speakers, headphones or built-in sounds. Its not on mute, I have checked the Audio Midi setup and Sound settings and everything is as they were prior to the update, so the sound should still be working.Â
I have tried resetting the SMC and PRAM, no luck yet. Also tried re-installing the update but did not work.Â

I was reluctant to update my 27inch i5 iMac with the new graphics card firmware update since I wasn't having any flickering issues. I finally caved in and did it thinking that nothing bad will happen, well of course something did. Ever since I updated it yesterday my computer makes a distinct and random popping sound from the speakers, it is soft but audible in my quiet room when I am working and it is driving me crazy.

after installing an update I am no longer able to hear sound out of my speakers. A red light comes on where the headphone jack is. I have already attempted to trip to switch with a wooden toothpick in the headphone jack but have not had luck.

I updated with the latest Lion patch yesterday and since then Entourage has either hung or taken a very long time to update from our 2003 Exchange server (I have MS Office 2011 but as you're probably aware, there are issues integrating with a 2003 Exchange server). how this might be fixed, short of updating both our 2003 Windows Server to Windows Server 2008 x64 and Exchange to 2010 so I (the only Mac user out of 85 staff) can use Outlook 2011?

Started the 10.7.4 install, and it halted. Turned my Mac off, started it back up, and apparently the 10.7.4 update didn't install, but it has caused the Mail function to not work AT ALL - I get a long error report that is auto sent to Apple.Â
I downloaded Lion from the Apple store, but have my Snow Leopard disk. How do I go about re-installing Mail?Â

"Software Update can't connect to the Update Server" - so I can't even check to see if updates are available.This has been going on for sometime. For a while if I created a new admin account and used that it would work, but not today.Tried creating a new admin account but to no avail.
I clcik on the Apple Icon, (top left hand side of screen), click on SOFTWARE UPDATE, it runs for a split second, then: [URL]after which I check my internet connect to see that it's fine. (And I attempt to run SU with nothing else using the internet). [URL] I've checked the forum and found a few people with the same problem. I've tried deleting PLISTs and using 008.008.008.008 DNS address, [URL], but still cannot get it to work. I still have my old G4 Power running OS 10.5.8 connected to the same modem (Netcomm NB6PLus4w Modem which has 4 ports) as my Mac Mini, and it runs Software Update without any issues. So it's not my internet connection and it's not the Apple server, so it's something about the Mac Mini that's not right.

When I try to update my mac i get the following error:Â
"A network error has occurred. Check your Internet connection, and then try again." Â
This has been happening for over a week now. Looking at the Console I get the error:Â
"4/10/12 8:03:54.398 AM Software Update: Error: The operation couldn’t be completed. (NSURLErrorDomain error -3001.) (NSURLErrorDomain code -3001)"Â
I've verified and repiared disk permissions a couple of times and restarted the system with no success.

I just bought my MacBook Pro and installed the updates... however, when I try to update my iTunes (since it says version 10.6.3 is available) but when it's almost done I get a message stating it can't be installed because the "update cannot be verified". How do I upgrade my MacBook to the latest iTunes?

I'm trying to update my Macbook Pro to the new 10.7.4 I have downloaded the update twice (no interruptions during download) and when i click to restart the computer to install the update, the update dosent install. I keep getting an error message saying the download is corrupted, when the update tries to unpack to install. Â

After i updated to 10.7.3, every time i boot my Mac, it plays the boot sound, but after i login there is no output devices so there is no sound on my Mac. I tried to find how to troubleshoot this issue but the only thing that i came across to solve it was restart and boot in Safe Mode and then reboot again in Normal Mode.Â
I need a permanent solution to this problem.

Whether through the App Store or the Apple download page, it starts to download, gets a certain way through, and then just stops. In the App Store, after awhile I get a message that Software Update can't connect to the update server. On the Apple.com download page, it just stops downloading. I don't think it's our internet connection, because the update worked just fine for our other iMac (which is older than the one I'm having trouble with).
