View 1 Replies View RelatedI originally logged in at the free and slow level, entering my room number and last name to confirm. Then I found out that by joining the hotel's loyalty program I can get the fastest speed for free, but I can't get back to the login screen. I've gone into Network Prefs > Wifi Network > Advanced, to delete the network name off the list, but even after a restart, my MBP just logs right in at the slow level.Â
I've deleted all networks from the list and saved it, yet it just logs right back into the slow level. I looked all over Keychain and don't see anything relating to this network anywhere. Everything I try, my computer just keeps logging back into the slow level. The hotel has even deleted my login on their end, and somehow I just get right back into the slow level without entering my room number again. Where is this password and network info stored so I can delete it?

When making a purchase on the iTunes store, I checked the "remember password for purchases" box. I'd like to disable this. I went into preferences and clicked "reset warnings" and all that, but it still remembers my password when making purchases. Anyone know how to disable this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have installed an IP-printer on my Mac. To print something from this printer, I have to use an username and password. I wrote in what I thought was my username and password, and selected that my Mac should remember this.
Unfortunately I wrote the wrong username, and now, even though I've deleted the printer several times and added it again, I still can't print anything. The box that I wrote my username and password do not pop up. Â
So how do I delete the printer and make it forget my username and password?

Is there any way to make Image Capture forget a device? It must have a cache since it remebers the folder where I save the photos. I want to make it forget my iPhone (4) because it keeps deleting everything I import regardless if I uncheck the box or not. What's weird is it works fine with all our other iDevices (4S, 3, iPad, all latest iOS) and card readers, so it must be something it remebers about my phone. Â
It do not see anything like this in the menu. Here is the Image Capture stuff in ~/Library just in case someone can point me to the culprit.Â

./Caches/com.apple.helpd/Generated/com.apple.ImageCapture.help/English.helpindex

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.6.8) and i am trying to set up an account for someone who regularly logs onto my guest account. I am doing this so whenever they are here and need to use my computer, they can use it without using my account( the admin account) or guest account( where the have to log into guest account and work on whatever it is they needed to do, then unfortuanatly have to erase all files from that day so they can log out ) Â Â Â Â
I still want it to be an account for that person to have when they are here, but NOT guest account. Just an additional account.Â

View 1 Replies View RelatedIf I change a folder name, while iTunes is working it's okay, it keeps playing the file just fine, but when I close iTunes and re-open it, it forgets the file path and make me find the path manually, then appears to be all right, but why it forgets the path when I close it?Â
I mean, even if I change the folder name (path) of the song that is actually playing, nothing happens and keep playing all the songs just fine, but if I close forgets all changes...
I have my set Mac Pro to sleep after 1 hour of "inactivity" and not wake for ethernet administration access. My question is: What is "inactivity"? It seems that my computer never sleeps fully. I have iStat Menus and Dropbox installed. Will the computer sleep no matter what if I don't touch the keyboard or mouse or unplug/plug stuff in/out? Or will certain apps keep it from sleeping? I am worried that something is preventing it from sleeping.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI re-installed lion on my new mini to get to Setup Assistant to transfer files from my older iMac. The transfer went well, I think. However, I cannot login. I have tried no password (the way the old iMac was set up). I have tried every password that I can think of including my Apple ID password. I did not set up any password for the new computer, but it did offer a hint for a password that it wiil not accept. How in the world did it come up with a password with out my consent? and how can I access my new computer?

My Mail on the iMac has several email accounts for my wife and I, we have recently deleted my wifes Yahoo account because of spam mail, as well as deleting it through Yahoo, the email account in Mail was removed. Ever since we have been receiving prompts for the password to the deleted account. I have checked through preferences and there is definitely no reference to the account. Is there something else I need to delete?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn Mail, I know how to go to Mail > Preferences to set up a password. I currently have a password set in this manner. When I open the Mail app, I can receive and send email without having to key in a password. What I want, however, is for Mail to prompt me for a password each time I start up the app. Is there a way to do this? As FYI, I do not want to store my Mail password in Keychain.

Does anyone have a fix for this, I've tried resetting... restarting, re-entering the password in preferences. As soon as I re-enter the password at the prompt, no issue, I receive mail... but 30 secs later it asks me again...Â

I have always used PCs where I worked and now that I am retired, I purchased a beautiful 27" iMac (2.7GHz, Quad Core i5, 16GB memory, Lion OS X) and I absolutely love it! I feel like I have been working with only a half computer all my life. Here is my problem: Whenever I am asked for my Password, I have to hit the Enter key without typing anything in for the Password. Is there any wan I can set the password on my iMac?

At my company, we have a MacBookPro8,2, running Lion v10.7.3.. We are trying to set the firmware password on it and don't seem to be able to do so. Booting from the Recovery Partition, we choose the Firmware Password Utility, turn it on and set the password. Upon rebooting and holding down the Alt/Option key on the keyboard, we are not presented with the lock icon, nor are we asked to enter the password we just set. Booting back into the Recovery partition and opening the Firmware Password Utility, we must enable it again and set the password again.

I'm having a hard time with this. My Yahoo! mail keeps asking for my password when I know I type it in correctly. I check the box where it says "Remember my password in keychain". Here is what I have done to solve it:Â
Reset / repair keychain in keychain preferences.Â
Reinstall Mac OS X LionÂ
Reformatted my SSD and put Lion on again.Â
Tried deleting the com.apple.mail.plist in ~/Library/PreferencesÂ
To no avail, it still keeps asking for my password. Keychain must have become corrupted as far as my Yahoo! mail is concerned.Â
Here is the specs on my computer: Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4, 120 GB Intel SSD in Bay 1 (OS HD) and 500 GB WD Scorpio Blue (Data HDD) + 8 GB RAM. I have my account linked up to my 500 GB WD Data HDD and not my SSD. I am sure it has something to do with that, I am just not sure how to fix it. Â

I have been using apple mail for a while now, I have 4 accounts on it (2 gmail accounts, 2 psmail accounts). All of a sudden yesterday both psmail accounts stopped sending and receiving emails, and apple mail started asking for my password. I am able to sign in to both accounts online, AND I am able to send and recieve emails via my ipod touch. So it seems to be a problem just with the mail app.Â
