I bought an HP Photosmart Premium C310 printer and I am having trouble. Apparently they are not compatible with with Mac OS X v10.7 Lion. I called HP before I bought it and they recommended this printer. I would like to know which would be the best wireless printer for my Mac Book Pro. Any suggestions? I am sending this printer back.

I have a HP Deskjet 722C printer, and I'm trying to get it set up with my macbook. Unfortunately, the only driver I can find on the HP site is for windows. Is there anyway to make it work?

The ink cartridges prices are ridiculous and I don't want to pay $50 for a printer and $45 for ink refills.
WHat are some of you guys doing to get a decent printer while keeping the cost down for Ink cartridges.
I have a PowerBook G4, about 2 years old and have never used it for printing. I have an HP all-in-one printer/fax/scanner/copier. Is there a way I can use that printer with my Mac?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm about to throw my HP Colorsmart C6180 out the window. The problems are mostly with the HP software, and my inability to get it to work with OSX 10.5.6 on my Mac Pro. Does anyone want to suggest a replacement that has all in one capabilities and actually is compatible with my computer?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for advice on buying a decent mid-range printer for my Mac. Ideally I'd like it to be wireless. I live in the UK & am looking to spend up to ?150. It would predominantly be used for printing documents. priorities are:
-Wifi / wireless compatibility
-efficiency of cartridges / price of refills
-printing, possibly some photocopying, but not essential
-occasional use for printing photos (again not huge priority)
I'm new to MAC and have a problem connecting my network printer to my MacMini:
Hardware:
1) Intel Mac Mini
2) Printer: HP laserjet pro 100 color mfp m175nw, WLAN switched off, connected via Ethernet to the same network as 1) and 3)
3) Windows PC
Problem:
I can't discover the printer from my MAC Mini. However, I can connect indirectly via the Windows PC which is sharing the printer resource in the network.
Question:
Is there a way to directly connect to the printer via Ethernet, so that I can print with my Windows PC switched off?
P.S: I can print with my iPAD connected via an AirPort extreme to the same Ethernet network.

I can get this printer at a really good deal but it seems it isn't officially Mac compatible. Has anyone been able to make it work with another driver? In particular, I'm planning on connecting it to a Windows XP Dell PC and then be able to print it on the network.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm planning on buying a new Macbook Pro and want to buy a printer to go with it. I know it sounds crazy but I've never had a printer before. I also know you can get a printer "free" basically with the purchase, but I can easily sell that one on craigslist or ebay to get the one that will be best for me. Here's what I need: my computer desk is very small and I need a physically small printer. I don't want a big old lunk of junk!
I'd rather spend as little as possible, but I'm willing to pay a little more (up to like $150 I guess) for a better one.I don't know much about tech stuff, so it needs to be one that's easy to hook up with my Macbook Pro and maybe hopefully even work wirelessly. I prefer it to print colour as well and photos, scan and make copies if possible (not sure if that stuff always comes now). Basically all the normal extras I guess.
I was having problems printing from my Canon LBP6000. Print jobs remained held in the queue. I uninstalled and reinstalled the Mac CAPT Ve r340 driver from Canon's website, no improvement. The printer works fine with my Windows laptop. I found an option to remove all printers from the Print preferences section. I can't remember how I did this, but all printers were removed. I reinstalled the above driver, but now in the 'print & scan' - 'add printer' section, I have no printer options. And no idea how to get printer options.

I have an iMac 27" (intel 3.4 GHz, Intel core i7, and 16 GB memroy) purchased a few months ago. It is running the latest version of Lion 10.7.4 I run this computer on our network along with a iMac 24" 3.5years old and a Macbook Pro 2.5year old.
This computer seems to have a beef with the Hewlett-Packard printer (HP colour laser jet CM1312nfi MFP) which I have had for about 3 years. I can not get the new computer to work with the printer properly. It allows printing but it pauses all the time when you resume the print it starts printing from the begining of the document againIt will pause any prints sent to it across the network after the first 1 or 2 pages are printedIt won't allow scanning at allWhen you launch the scanner it takes forever to connect (3 - 4 mins)If you try to scan using any of the scan options (if it loads the devise) it then states it can not connect to the device, or all the scan buttons apear but greyed out. This is odd as it will still allow printing??
Also, all the other PC's have the same version of Lion 10.7.4 and have the latest HP Driver installed (these were released on the 14 Dec 2011). Other useful infoThe scanner is hard wired to the 27" machineYou can only use the printer if one scanner is hard wired as it does not have wirless capacity.I have uninstalled and installed the software more times than i can count trying all different trouble shooting etcI can only conclued that there is somthing the 27" machine is doing to prevent the scnanner registering properlyNone of the other computers can use the scanner correctly either. As you can only scan a page at a time using the "Scan" button. If I wish to scan multiple pages on with either of the other computers I need to use the "scan to folder" button.
The Excel program I'm trying to print Excel 2008, Microsoft Office 2008, identifies the problem as a 'driver' issu and thus will not print the spreadsheets.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm looking to buy an external hard drive, primarily to save my video editing work on Final Cut, so as not to bog down my Macbook with footage. IO heard that the WD Elements Desktop 1.5 TB drive was a good brand (WDBAAU0015HBK-NESN) was a good brand, although none of the literature I'm finding online confirms whether it's compatable with OS X Lion. Is it? Specifically, I'm running 10.7.2. If the WD Elements isn't compatible, do you reccomend another external hard drive that would work?

I'm contemplating an upgrade to Lion, but am hearing some discouraging things about software compatibility.what the effect of an upgrade to Lion would have on the following:
iWorks 08
Microsoft Office 2008
iDVD
iPhoto and iLife 09
I've checked my system to see which had a PowerPC base, and only the Microsoft Office 08 software does.

SSL enabled for CalDav and Web -> iCal 3 does not connect?SSL for Web only: iCal can connect but Wiki calendars are not accesible (calendar permission is greyed out)?SSL disabled: everything is working?we run Lion Server 10.7.3 and a number of Lion clients and also a few Leopard clients.I thought that it should be possible to allow iCal 3 to connect without using SSL but I found no way doing this.It looks like the server enforces the use of SSL connections only and that iCal 3 does not support SSL.

Canon says "due to certain incompatibilities between Mac OS X Lion (10.7) and our previously released Mac OS X 10.6 Printer and Fax drivers, you may not be able to print and an error log file will be generated that could potentially fill up the hard drive of your Macintosh computer."[url]

I'm feeling a bit like a ping-pong ball with my brand new $250 paperweight, otherwise know as the Epson Picturemate 300 SHOW compact printer. I dumped Canon because they stopped supporting the Selphy 780 after about 2 years. That said, when I try to add the SHOW, Apple "says" their is no compatible software and to check with the printer manufacturer. So i check with Epson....they say check with APPLE!
