This is my DXG-569V camcorder. It can capture 1280 x 720 video at 30 fps and shoot 5-megapixel. It can output in both 4:3 and 16:9 aspects. Video is recorded in H.264, .MOV format, .M2TS format.
My Mac is iMac with Mac OS X version 10.4.11.
Here is my problem:
When I convert my camcorder video in my Mac with Handbrake, I get the beach ball of death. Sometimes it won't get past the apple loading screen. When it does, it freezes on the desktop. Something wrong with my Mac or handbrake? How to detect? If it is Handbrake, please name something alternative I can use.
I downloaded a movie from piratebay and I want to put it on a DVD. How do I do this.

Will a .avi movie play on my DVD player if I burn it onto a DVD?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just recently upgraded from PC to imac. I have different format movies I would like to convert to the .avi format so that I may burn a DVD and play on my large screen using my DVD player. What program can convert most formats to .avi? A free program would be a bonus, but not a pre-requirement.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm just downloading Toy Story 1 & 2 from iTunes, because my girlfriend hasn't seen it and I wanted to show her before we see Toy Story 3 this summer.
Anyway, I want to take it over to hers to play, but she doesn't have a TV with any kind of input that could run from my MacBook. In other words, I can only take it round if it's on DVD.
Is there a free way to burn this movie onto a DVD?
I've searched and I still cannot find a free program that will let me burn a movie to a DVD. I used handbrake to bring the video file down to 4.5 GB. I'm trying to put it on a 4.7 GB disc and iDVD still won't let me because it says it is too big! I've been tinkering with iDVD and it's making me crazy. There must be a way to just burn it. I don't need a menu. Keep in mind that I want to be able to watch it on a dvd player (as opposed to just transferring the file). Just an FYI, the video file is 3 hours and 28 mins. It can be .mkv or .mp4 (through handbrake).

I cannot get my very recently purchased macbook pro to burn a home video to dvd OR connect to my dell 155w printer. I bought a macbook because it was so highly recomended. But I don't want to keep replacing things. I am so frustrated. I wanted a macbook because of its reputation. But I can't seem to figure out anything. I'm dissapointed and thinking I will just return it.

I have dual layer DVDs and want to burn the same small movie on both layers, one would be full screen, the other wide screen so the viewer can choose.
Is this possible? Is it just a matter of burning one movie at a time; will the comp recognize which layer is empty after the first burn?
I am trying to burn a 2GB Quicktime movie to a DVD-R using Toast 8. The file goes through the encoding process then gets stuck on 0% the "preparing" stage. Has anyone had this happen and how did you fix it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedBefore I upgraded to Lion I was able to use my HP Photosmart 912 camera with iPhoto. This camera uses a Compact Flash Card.
Now I cannot import pictures into iPhoto. What happened that will not allow me to now use my camera? Do I need to return to Snow Leopard to be able to use my camera or would upgrading to iLife give me an upgrade to iPhoto. I have iPhoto 08 version 7.1.5 (378).

Every time I try to export a movie in iMovie or burn a disk in iDVD an error message pops up and says that my startup disk is full. So I bought an external hard drive and backed up my mac using Time Machine. Now I want to delete everything off my mac's internal Hard Drive and use my external hard drive so I can empty my disk. Does this make sense? If so will you please tell me how to do so.

I cannot use my old applic. install Disc that had iDVD ( iLife08) because when inserted, it says I can't open it because Power PC apps are no longer supported. NOW, an Apple Care tech. did not tell me that when Ijust talked to him. There is no way to get iDVD then for my new computer.
MY PROBLEM: I want to burn a dvd that will play in a DVD player. I created it from my dig. camera using iMovie. I tried to burn it to a DVD/RW but when inserted into two different DVD players, nothing. I then read I needed a DVD-R, and got that, but read that will not work on this computer either. I read of something called BURN which is some free software that does simple dvd's, but am afraid to download that and end up running in circles. I sure do not want to purchase some software for a rare occasion when I want to burn a DVD for a friend to play in his tv/dvd player.
how can I get my video from iMovie burned to a dvd that will be playable on a simple dvd player?I still have my old computer in a closet. It seems absurd to think I must drag it out, hook it up and use that when I spent all this money for a new computer so I'd be in some cloud...

It is supposed to be the best burning package on mac. But I doubt it. I convert videos to dvd-video format using the absolutely brilliant windows7 application convertxtodvd. Please dont tell me to use a mac application instead of it. I tried it many times, there were always several problems(slow speed, subs etc). This is not the case here.
So, I want these dvd-videos in Video_ts format, to be burned in dvd disks using toast. It is supposed that video_ts folder are a standard folder, no matter the system you use. But toast has a different opinion. When I drag the folder in the dvd-video window, it asks to re-encode the video!!!If I try to burn this video_ts folder in windows machine using 'nero', no problem at all, straight burning! I really cannot understand why this happens.
Another problem I have is that the files I want toast to burn, usually reside to network computer. Is there any way to burn files from a network computer(win) using toast? Can toast access network or not? If not, I have to manually copy files to local disk, several minutes spent for copying gigabytes just to be able to burn them.
rented a movie and paid for it, cost was deducted but no record of purchasing movie anywhere

View 7 Replies View RelatedOkay, so I am here at work, and have spent the last 4-5 hours trying to resolve this issue, and cannot find any working solutions for it on the internet. We have .3gp recordings. All of a sudden, we started getting this error on some of our computers. Example: I want to play test.3gp; I try to open test.3gp in QuickTime, and I get an error that reads...
"Error -2002: A bad public movie atom was found in the movie:test.3gp" But when I go to play test2.3gp, it plays fine. This issue varies from computer to computer. I get this error on all three of my machines. 2 Windows 7 64bit, and 1 Windows 7 32bit. My colleague and boss can play test.3gp fine through QuickTime on their computers. One is Windows 7 64bit the other is 32bit.
Anyone know some causes of this and hopefully a way to solve it? I tried cleaning up registry errors, running as administrator, updating, reinstalling... Nothing is working.

I have Snow Leopard installed with the latest Quicktime.
When viewing a movie file in my browser in Leopard, I was able to right click on it and save a copy to my desktop/computer. Now, I can't seem to enable this option...I have no way of saving a movie to my computer. Am I missing something? How does one do this now, do I need to click on a specific spot?
