So I have several concert videos that Ive downloaded. The files are labeled like this:
vts_01_01.vob , vts_01_02.vob, etc
On a windows machine these open up automatically, and some have menus that are functional, and all files play one after another.
On my mac, I had to download an app called VLC to play these files, but the thing is, once one file is done I have to manually open the next, and any menus that are present are non functional.
How can I get these videos to work on a mac the same way the do on a pc?
I just realized how easy it is to download videos using safari and watch the .flv file. The question I have is does anyone know of a program that will convert the .flv files to .avi/ .mpg files?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy IMac seems to be lagging when I play videos of movies or soap operas that I downloaded online. What do you think the cause of this could be? I play the videos in VLC, and I should be having a lag free smooth video play back right? I think I am still within the 14 day period, should I call apple and request a replacement? Also my HDD is always running at a constant 59 ~ 60 c when just watching videos / movies is this within normal temperatures?
View 6 Replies View RelatedAnyone know how to speed up movies downloaded via iTunes so they play at the correct speed? Movies don't sync with the sound correctly and pause a lot while playing. I've got an iBook G4 with OSX 10.3.9, 1GHZ Processor and 640 mb ddr sdram. Do I need to upgrade the ram to 1024mb? Or could my video card be going out? I use quicktime v. 7.5 to watch them. I can't seem to download any updates to quicktime even though newer versions are available.

Before I upgraded to Lion I was able to use my HP Photosmart 912 camera with iPhoto. This camera uses a Compact Flash Card. Â
Now I cannot import pictures into iPhoto. What happened that will not allow me to now use my camera? Do I need to return to Snow Leopard to be able to use my camera or would upgrading to iLife give me an upgrade to iPhoto. I have iPhoto 08 version 7.1.5 (378).

I've recently upgraded to Lion and have found that Quicktime movies and embedded Flash movies won't work. With the embedded flash all I get is a black box, and with quicktime movies, such as the ones on the Apple website, I get nothing - the irony of not being able to watch movies on the Apple site with my Apple iMac gives me a little chuckle. Anyways ....... I've been reading thread after thread and trying lots of different things but nothing works. I've got this feeling inside that says it's something simple but just can't seem to find it.

I paid for and downloaded the Lion my version is 10.7.4?My MS word is no longer supported. I am freaking out because of my college papers. I apparently didn't read directions too much to see it would no longer support. I am willing to buy new Microsoft word so it's supported if I can do so. Any suggestions or tips would help. I went to App Store to purchase but I have no clue on what to buy. Nothing on my computer that is MS is supported. I just need to be able to email some documents to other people that is MS word and write my papers on ms word. Â

after being FORCED to upgrade my 2007 2.66 Dual Core Xeon to Lion in order to migrate my iPhone/MobileMe stuff to iCloud, my dual-screen desktop is now mired in this inane implementation of 'full-screen' mode in Lion. I won't even start with that... Even worse, the full-screen mode button in the upper right corner of windows is the area I (previously) used to select a different window when multiple browser windows are up. It's driving me crazy, and I wish there was some sort of 'Spaces' implementation that is similar to what we had. But looking forward to hoping that perhaps Mountain Lion will fix the ills of Lion, I now see that only the 2008 Mac Pro towers will be supported, even though they are nearly identical in architecture (I think). Even our 2007 iMac is supported!Â
So, after having been forced away from Leopard (which was working for me just fine, thank you), I now find myself being left out on the doorstep by Apple with my high-end Mac Pro, for no apparent reason. Is anyone else out there in this situation? Does anyone else out there know a hack out of this full screen mode fiasco? Â It seems to me that Apple's decision to leave behind the first generation Intel Mac Pro is arbitrary at best, one of those indirect pokes to try and get us to upgrade hardware. It would be one thing if the computer wasn't fully functional in this 'day and age', but it *is* fully functional. Â

Just upgraded to OSx Lion 10.7 and find that Quicken 2007 won't open as Lion does not support it. Quicken advises that it does not yet have Quicken for Lion but is working on it. Meantime I am stuck as I use Quicken all the time. I am wondering if it is possible to uninstall Lion using the Snow Leopard install CD. At present, Lion is a disaster and I'd like to get rid of it and go back to Snow Leopard. Apple really screwed up with this one.

View 2 Replies View RelatedA lot of people have been affected by the problem - the change to Lion OSX has left them stranded because Power PC Applications are no longer supported. I don't understand firstly why Apple has done this. There are thousands of software programs in use by their customers and suddenly these don't work. As these are programs used by students, teachers, employers and employees this seems quite senseless to leave everyone high and dry.

Recently my MacPro has been giving multiple errors that I can't open a particular application because PowerPC application are no longer supported. It references an application that I don't have on my computer and I'm not trying to open. I keeps listing the error over and over. Last night it listed it 88 times before I woke up this morning. They list one on top of the other running down from the middle of the screen to the right lower corner and then pile up there. I don't know what to do other than erase the drive and reformat and I really don't want to do that. I'm attaching a screenshot. Â
This shot shows 8 repeats in about 4 hours one day last week. This started about 3 months after I installed Lion, and I haven't installed anything else since I upgraded to Lion. Â
