Since I boot camped my mac (I think this is when the problem started, I've kinda ignored it for a few months) I am no longer asked for my password upon starting up my MacBook Pro, it simply automatically logs me into Lion.Â

View 11 Replies View RelatedBesides the below mentionned iMac I also still have an iMac 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with OSX 10.5.8 installed.Since a few days my mail application on the 10.5 iMac doesn't receives any incoming mails from my Me.com account and I receive constantly the request to enter my password. This mail application worked entirely well until it started asking for its password.Strangely enough I can access the concerned mail account on the below mentioned iMac, on the concerned iMac via Safari on iCloud.com and also on my iPad I tried in my opinion nearly everything suggested on the forum and the support pages. I even tried restoring the mail application from a time machine back-up prior to the incident.As incoming mail server in the Mail preferences "mail.mac.com" is mentioned. I tried to change this to "imap.mail.me.com" but even after saving the change it still mentions "mail.mac.com". what i should do to have my mail application work again on the 10.5.8 iMac? Could or should I f.i. restore other files than the Mail application from my Time Machine Back-up?Â

When I turn on my Mac mini it asks WiFi connection password eveytime.it does not save the password. I tried everything.it is too annoying and my children do not want to use it. Even worse when wakes up from energy saving mode asks both passwords.

Where oh where do i reset or input the correct details? Error message states username/password are incorrect...... but option to reset or change them or try again.

At work I work on a mac, but our files are on shared windows network drives. There's one particular drive which causes our mac users problems. It doesn't happen on all folders/files, but on some of them the following happens. I try to move a folder to another location, but then suddenly my mac asks for the system password. I fill that in and press ok, but nothing is moved. The folder is still in the same location. This only happens om certain folders and the funny thing is: when I try it on of the following days, the problem for that folder is gone and I can move the folder to the folder I wanted it to move.
But in the meantime there are other folders which can't be moved. Support - being not into Mac strangely enough - says it's a Mac problem and I should update to 10.7. It happens only to me and my colleagues at the place/office where I work. The windows server is at some place else so everything goes via internet. I keep insisting it's some kind of permissions thingy. Support says it's a Mac thing. What can be the problem and how can I make it clear to them that is isn't a mac thing?
Started with issues of my accounts wanting a password every time it checked my hotmail accounts.I could fix them a few weeks ago by deleting the account and adding a new one (same one really).thought I would do that yesterday. deleted my hotmail account.clicked the + button/tab to add a new account- NOTHING happens. zero/nada etc.so I went to file and highlighted add a accountsame thing nothing happens.so dumb me, I went into my preferences and deleted the (should not have emptied the trash) mail preferences thinking it would help.
same thing can't add accounts only delete. only now I have no accounts.rebuilt preferences, deleted caches, rebuilt again, restarted etc.any ideas or help here.don't want to go back to entourage (quit that many years ago).

My father who is 91 purchased an iMac in January used it once. He is now just setting it up again after he has recently moved and this will be his only computer… finally getting rid of the PC world of Bill Gates and into a real computer. However, he has forgotten the login password at start-up which was set-up at the Apple Store. Can I reboot the machine with a CD (have one for Snow Leopard) and change administration details this way even though is running OS X Lion?Â

Press cmd-alt-p-r before the grey screen comes up and continues to press these keyes but nothing is happening. Have also treid some other start up commands but nothing happens. Have tried both a full alu keyboard and a alu-keyboard without the num pad - makes no difference.Also have maked sure that the firmwar-password is dissabled.Have a mac mini 1,83ghz 2gb ram with 10.5.8 running.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter booting in safe mode, my MacBook Pro doesn't load the desktop/applications properly. Whenever I enter the password it asks me for the password again. Series of events: I connected external drives for the first time in Apple Bootcamp/Windows. They did not mount and Windows froze whenever I connected the drives. I tried it a few times, each time using the power button for turning the computer off. After a couple of trials the screen color was very weird (psychedelic) and I noticed that the computer had gotten hot (in Windows my fans don't work as they should) and I restarted the in OSX 10.4. The psychedelic colors were still present and the temperature reading was 71 degrees (smc control software). Searching forums in a panic that I might have fried my video card partially I found and followed a description on how to change the screen from "color" to "grey" under System Preferences>Universal access. This did not help as the psychedelic color/pixelness still persisted. Even worse, when I restarted the computer, the above mentioned problem occured (not getting the proper desktop, I can't run any application or shut the computer down, it always tries to reload the desktop after a couple of seconds). What I tried so far: -I resetted the PRAM using the Command, Option, P, and R keys and waiting for two additional startup sounds. Result: the psychedelic color is gone, it looks normal. But still cycles between grey and color during the desktop stall.-I repaired my startup disk with the OSX installation disk...no repairs were necessary -I repaired permissions with the installation disk...lots of repairs were made, but no success upon reboot -I started the computer in safe mode...result: I don't get past the password screen. As soon as I enter the password it asks me for it again.

It doesn't show up on the Keychain Access item in menu bar. And I get message along the lines of. There appears no way to set preference for this system Key Chain to automatically open. suggestions? I think I also have a complete and Total melt down of the key chain system on my X.3.9 Drive Because I can't get keychain, accounts, Installer, Stickies, and Pacifist to open. There may be other but applications such as word, Acrobat, and all web browsers an mail/news client I have work fine. I deal with that issue after I get this fixed.

for some reason after the last time i did a shutdown the mac now does not start up. I enter the password ,( correctly , i checked for caps lock etc..) it seems to accept it and then it blinks and takes me back to the login . The same thing happens on the guest account I had set up. different password entered correctly. OS is the lastest 10.7 with all the updates.

Since installing Yosemite 10.10.1, every time I turn on my MacBook Pro I have to Select User and then login with my password. I don't want this, since I'm the only user and it wastes time.
