May 17, 2012I am repeatedly asked for the password for a mail account that I have deleted. How can I stop this?

Software :: Unable To Add New Accounts / Asked Password Every Time Checked Hotmail Account
Sep 21, 2010Started with issues of my accounts wanting a password every time it checked my hotmail accounts.I could fix them a few weeks ago by deleting the account and adding a new one (same one really).thought I would do that yesterday. deleted my hotmail account.clicked the + button/tab to add a new account- NOTHING happens. zero/nada etc.so I went to file and highlighted add a accountsame thing nothing happens.so dumb me, I went into my preferences and deleted the (should not have emptied the trash) mail preferences thinking it would help.
same thing can't add accounts only delete. only now I have no accounts.rebuilt preferences, deleted caches, rebuilt again, restarted etc.any ideas or help here.don't want to go back to entourage (quit that many years ago).

OS X V10.5 Leopard :: No Incoming Mail-password Asked?
Apr 3, 2012Besides the below mentionned iMac I also still have an iMac 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with OSX 10.5.8 installed.Since a few days my mail application on the 10.5 iMac doesn't receives any incoming mails from my Me.com account and I receive constantly the request to enter my password. This mail application worked entirely well until it started asking for its password.Strangely enough I can access the concerned mail account on the below mentioned iMac, on the concerned iMac via Safari on iCloud.com and also on my iPad I tried in my opinion nearly everything suggested on the forum and the support pages. I even tried restoring the mail application from a time machine back-up prior to the incident.As incoming mail server in the Mail preferences "mail.mac.com" is mentioned. I tried to change this to "imap.mail.me.com" but even after saving the change it still mentions "mail.mac.com". what i should do to have my mail application work again on the 10.5.8 iMac? Could or should I f.i. restore other files than the Mail application from my Time Machine Back-up?Â

Intel Mac :: Moving Folder On Windows Server - System Password Asked
Jun 1, 2012At work I work on a mac, but our files are on shared windows network drives. There's one particular drive which causes our mac users problems. It doesn't happen on all folders/files, but on some of them the following happens. I try to move a folder to another location, but then suddenly my mac asks for the system password. I fill that in and press ok, but nothing is moved. The folder is still in the same location. This only happens om certain folders and the funny thing is: when I try it on of the following days, the problem for that folder is gone and I can move the folder to the folder I wanted it to move.
But in the meantime there are other folders which can't be moved. Support - being not into Mac strangely enough - says it's a Mac problem and I should update to 10.7. It happens only to me and my colleagues at the place/office where I work. The windows server is at some place else so everything goes via internet. I keep insisting it's some kind of permissions thingy. Support says it's a Mac thing. What can be the problem and how can I make it clear to them that is isn't a mac thing?

Jul 30, 2010All of a sudden, Mail has begun rejecting my password for my Gmail Account. Yesterday the password was fine and had been fine for about 10 or 11 months, until tonight. This is the box I see when I try to get mail: Mail is rejecting every single password that I use. I'm 100% positive that I'm entering the correct password. Is it possible that Gmail is down or doing maintenance which is causing this problem?

Mar 31, 2012I don't know why but a recently I've been asked to enter my icloud password related to my iCloud e-Mail address. stupidly, I've forgot what my password is. is there a chance to reset it somehow?Â
To explain the situation a bit better and what I've tried already, here a short discription of the situation:Â
- I do have a appleID that is called firstname.lastname@gmail.com the related password is appleID_Password1.
with this combination I also conduct my purchases in iTunes and the AppStore. But to rule this possibility already out: It doesn't let me access my iCloud eMail account in Apple Mail. Funny enough, though, when visiting iCloud.com this is the combination with which I log onto iCloud incl it's mail service within the web browser.Â
- the iCloud eMail address for whose password I am looking is called something like abcde@me.com. I have implemented it into my Apple Mail program running on Mac OS X Lion. Since setting up the account i've never ever been asked to enter my password. But now, out of a sudden, I was. And, of course, I couldn't remember it anymore. Hence, I don't receive any eMails sent to abcde@me.com anymore on my mac.Â
Can somebody tell me how to fix it, if it is not the password for my appleID??

Apr 13, 2012I cannot login into the iTunes-Store or iTunes-Account on my MacBook Pro. The following problem occures:
1) I type in the correct Apple-ID and password,
2) my Apple-ID appears in the left corner in iTunes - but nevertheless:
3) iTunes repeatedly asks for my password - again and again. I am absolutely sure that I typed in the correct password, because I also use the same Apple-ID + password on my iMac and everything is fine on the iMac (but not on my MacBook Pro).Â
Additional information:My girlfriend and me use the same mac + itunes to log in with each our Apple-IDs: The same problem for her on my MacBook. I already reinstalled the newest iTunes Version from apple.comOn my iMac everything works fine (with both accounts).Â

Mar 12, 2012The past couple of days, for no apparent reason, my iCloud mail account starts acting strangely. Everytime Mail tries to connect to a server called "p03-imap.mail.me.com" and pops up the message that my password is rejected for my user name. This started happening without me doing anything to my settings. Strangely enough, on my iPhone and my newly acquired iPad2 this issue does not appear. Has something changed on the me.com servers ?

It took me a long time to re-configure everything, I choose the "double" protection from Google (with sms), and my Mac asked me this morning to give several times my Apple ID password, for iMessage, Face Time, etc...)

Apr 13, 2012I have an early 2011 MacBook Pro running OS Lion (10.7.3) and in the last two weeks I face the following problem with the Mail application and my Yahoo mail account: although the account appears in the side bar of the application and it will search for new messages when I launch the Mail app, it doesn't load any messages and I also realised that all Mailboxes of the named account are blank! The messages appear normally when I reach my account through the Yahoo page! I tried to remove and re-import the account in the Mail app, but it just worked for two days and now the Mailboxes are blank again! I have no problems with the other two mail accounts I reach through the same application (both POP accounts).

I am using Mac mail for my mai, this includes a Gmail IMAP account and a POP3 account for my meandering ISP. The IMAP one loads up fine with the IMAP folders there under a sub set of folders for the account.But the POP3 account won't let me create folders within it nor does it have a subset like the Geekwolf one you see below.What do I need to do to get it to have folders, I need to be able to sort incoming mail, but at the moment, I can't.My ISP does have an IMAP setting, but I don't want to have the mail sat about on a server.Â

However, I do not want to restore all the accounts and all the mailboxes, just the one that was lost.Â
