I am running Snow Leopard on a MacBook Pro using Bootcamp and Windows XP. On the Windows side, is there a way to print screen, full or partial?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just want your opinions on which keyboard is better... the Traditional, Thinkpad-reputable Lenovo X201 keyboard or the Chiclet keyboard of the MacBook Pro. I have experience with Chiclet keyboards with the first generation MacBook I used from 2006 to 2007 and the HP DM3z I am currently using since I bought it in October 2009, and am really satisfied with it, but also was really satsifed with my MacBook Pro "classic" keyboard.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIf you have to buy your new iMac from one of the retail stores rather than online you will no doubt have had worries about the keyboard.
With the small keyboard bundled many stores will not allow the option of a larger keyboards. Some people have posted here however that some stores where swapping out keyboards for them, others even managed to get a free full size keyboard sent to them after calling apple and complaining.
I'm hoping people will post their keyboard experiences here along with the apple store they visited to help build up a reference list for others in this situation.
I'll start by saying the apple store in Liverpool ONE , will not, under any circumstances swap out keyboards.
Im in the market for a used Apple wireless keyboard. On eBay I noticed two different models, the A1255 and the A1314. Whats the difference? Are they the same size? I am planning to get the BulletTrain Express keyboard and trackpad tray.

View 2 Replies View RelatedYesterday I bought a new MacBook Pro running 10.7.4 and discovered I cannot print to my Laserwriter 4/600 using Asantetalk connected to ethernet (which is connected via a router to my AirPort Extreme (round, white circa 2005). If I use one of my older MacBooks to share the printer with my new one, then it prints fine, no problem at all. It's direct printing that's the problem. I also did NOT have a problem setting up my MBP (OS 10.5.8) to print from the LW when I got it in 2008. What I've done is: - Go to Sys. Prefs > Print & Scan > + printer in Printers list, select "IP". At that point I have tried ALL of the options, IPP, LPD and HP, which I detail below. With each one I have tried, I have had to manually Select Printer Software. When I select Apple Laserwriter 4/600, I have had to also manually give it a Name in order for me to Add the printer. At that point, here's what happens when I try IPP: - I get the message 'Unable to verify the printer on your network. Unable to connect to " due to an error. Would you like to create the queue?' I select Continue. - It then says it's setting up the printer, and "Make sure your printer's options are accurately shown here so you can take full advantage of them." Memory Configuration: I select 6 MB, then the OK button. - Then it says it's setting up the printer. - I then try to print. - I open up the printer monitor, it acts like it's going to print, but then Pauses. My document stays in the queue, and when I try to Resume Printer, it acts like it's going to print again, but then get a message something like "The printer's URI is incorrect or no longer exists." The it pauses it again. I try again. Pause. and it will just keep doing this and never print. Keep in mind, after I try each method and it doesn't work, I delete both the print job and the printer from the list. So I delete the printer, try adding a new one with LPD: - It doesn't give me a message that it's unable to verify the printer on my network, which seems good, but then when I try to print, it says it's copying print data, it's connected to the printer, and then it pauses. I keep trying, but it keeps pausing it. When I try the HP, like the IPP it tells me it's unable to verify the printer on my network. I Continue anyway, it acts as if it's setting it up, but nothing happens, so I hit the "Configure" button. I then select my memory configuration. It seems to take, so I try to print. It acts like it's processing the job, but then says the printer is busy. I went to this page:  I hope I have given enough information about my ystem and printer. I have scoured these forums and Google, and cannot find a solution to my problem that works. I am hoping I don't have to print only using a shared printer because that is a bit of a hassle since I don't plan on always having an older MBP running as a server.

Started using a mac through work and bought my first 20" imac 8 months ago. Haven't looked back. However, since the update to 10.5.7 my imac has crashed applications every time I select the print command in any application that can print.
I'm printing to an Epson Acculaser C1100 via USB, which worked perfectly before the 10.5.7 update.
I've searched forums and other sites for a solution but drawn a blank. Here's what I've done so far:Twice reinstalled the 10.5.7 update using the Combo update option, repairing permissions before and after.Removed the Epson folder from the Printers folder in the library and reinstalled the drivers from the original Epson disk, from the OS X disks that came with the mac, and from the latest driver posted on the Epson site. Each time, no effect.Removed all references to Epson from my machine (via a Finder search) and reinstalled the drivers in the three ways listed above.
Each time the result is the same; when I click the print command or the print icon in any application the application spins the coloured wheel for a while then crashes. Some applications (such as Pages) report that the crash may be related to a file called EpsonPagePDE.plugin, which I've found and deleted from the library several times, to no avail.Updated to 10.5.8.The printer works perfectly from my Mac G4 laptop and from a Windows Vista laptop. In just about every other way I'm delighted with my conversion to mac 9 months ago, but this has me beaten.
How do I print what is on my screen? There was a button for this in Windows on the keyboard.

I have had difficulty in attaching my HP Photosmart C5580 printer to my new MacBookPro (OSX 10.6) through my Netgear WGPS606 print server. After much searching I found previous posts here which advised me to add the Gutenprint driver 5.2.6 which I did. That finally DID successfully attach the printer through the server...
However, there is a lag of many seconds (sometimes minutes) between the SEND command and the starting of the printer. Is this the new normal that I need to expect or is there a fix?
I am new to iMac. How to screen print with iMac? The app I am using doesn't seem to have a print function.

I'm using SL and my Spaces shortcut is apple command+0. On my old whitebook I believe I had it to be simply F11, but can't get a one button shortcut for it on my MBP 13inch. I would'nt even mind-in fact I would love a trackpad shortcut... ...Here's hoping someone reads this and provides an interesting shortcut.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mavericks and am now having problem with my hp 4500 office jet printer. The print icon tends to stay on the dock after the print job is done and then mess up the print queue. Even worse if I forget to cancel it manually then when I put the computer on 'sleep' the printer starts up again and the whole job is rerun unless I get to cancel it quickly on the printer! Â
It does not always do this (the print icon disappearing as it should do), but for 90% of the time it does.Â

I use "Ctrl+Shift+Eject" to shut off my iMac screen (not shutdown) usually before I go to sleep, but recently, I've had to hit it 5 or 6 times before it actually turns off the screen. It also happens when putting the computer to sleep pressing "Option+Command+Eject".

All of a sudden, holding down the Command key for more than a second or two (e.g., in preparation for using Command+W) brings up a Universal Access dialogue screen which fills the monitor. I have not used Universal Access, I checked the settings, and I see nothing seems to be "On".Â

I saw this little "trick" command, control, alt, 8 in a Mac article a few weeks ago. It was nothing more than a cool, little screen alteration that makes the screen go negative. I tried it after first getting my Mac. Just this past week, I tried to do it again and it is not working. Not that it is a serious issue however it is more of a curiousity why it stopped. Did some application I installed on my machine cause this feature to halt? Just curious if anyone has the answer. I tried disabling Shades, Growl and even turned off my power settings to see if that was interfering.
