OS X :: SL And What's Spaces Shortcut Is Apple Command+0

Jan 27, 2010

I'm using SL and my Spaces shortcut is apple command+0. On my old whitebook I believe I had it to be simply F11, but can't get a one button shortcut for it on my MBP 13inch. I would'nt even mind-in fact I would love a trackpad shortcut... ...Here's hoping someone reads this and provides an interesting shortcut.

OS X :: How Can I Set Up Keyboard Shortcut For Spaces

Aug 16, 2009

It wasn't until I got my new MPB that I realized how much I use Spaces on a daily basis, when I had my whitebook.

I've set up Spaces on my new uMBP but can't find a way to "view all my spaces." You know, the overview look of spaces, when you can see all your spaces at a glance and click to switch on whichever space you wanna enter.

Well, I can't for the life of my figure out how to set up a keyboard shortcut for this. Back on my whitebook it was always set to F10, but looking at the new layout of buttons on the top row of the keyboard, there are some buttons I'd like to leaver untouched.

F1+F2: Screen brightness controls I'd like to leave untouch since they're obviously useful.

F3: This is Expose right? Giving me a view of all open windows. Well, can't I just do this already by moving 4 fingers downward on the trackpad? If that's the case, which I think it is I wouldn't mind assigning F3 a different shortcut, like Spaces. But how?

F4: Dashboard. On the whitebook it was always F12, guess it'll just take some getting used to.

F5+F6: Backlit keyboard dimmers, i'm fine leaving thouse as is.

F7-F12: Controls media with the back, play/pause, next button which I love & the sound controls which I don't mind.

In System Prefs. in Spaces I'll set "Activate Spaces" to F3 but still F3 will do Expose. I'm not sure how to change this.

& I have no idea what secondary mouse click or middle mouse button is...i'm guessing this has to do with mighty mouse? Me no have one, just using the trackpad..

OS X :: Cursor Shortcut For Switching Spaces

Aug 2, 2010

I had a shortcut or a bug yesterday which went away after I restarted the computer. It was switching spaces when I move the cursor to each side of the screen. Example: when I move the cursor all the way to the right of the screen, it would switch to space 2. Down would go to space 3 or 4 depending. I want this feature back but wasn't able to find it. I am running 10.6.4 btw.

OS X :: Changing Switch Between Spaces - Shortcut Key To Option Tab?

Oct 28, 2010

I've been searching in vain around the internet for a few days now for a way to change the hotkey for switching between spaces (by default, option-arrow keys, though I have changed it to command-option-arrow keys) to option-tab and shift-option-tab. To be more specific, I'd like option-tab to switch to the space to the right, and shift-option-tab to switch to the space to the left. I have downloaded BetterTouchTool (http://blog.boastr.net/?page_id=1722), and it can assign any shortcut key to the simple option of bringing up the spaces interface itself, but I can't find a way to assign a different shortcut key to actually switching spaces. Interestingly, using that app, I was able to assign a five finger swipe (which blew my mind, by the way) in the corresponding direction for which space I wanted to switch to by assigning the gesture to the shortcut key for switching spaces (so, five finger swipe to the right is assigned to command-option-right arrow).

OS X :: Moving Application In Spaces Using Keyboard Shortcut

Is there a way to move an application to another space in Spaces using a keyboard shortcut? For example if anyone is familiar with Compiz or Beryl you can use control+alt+shift+directional key to move an application to a new space without using the mouse or the mode where you can see all the spaces at ounce.

OS X :: Keyboard Shortcut To Enable / Disable Spaces?

Sep 5, 2009

When at home I use a 30" 2560x1600 display and as you can imagine, it has quite a bit of real estate for windows. So when I'm at home I'd prefer to not use Spaces since it doesn't give me any extra. However, at work I use a 24" 1920x1200 and when on the move I use my Macbook Pro's 1280x800 display and on those Spaces is highly beneficial. So is there any way to set up a keyboard shortcut to enable or disable Spaces so I don't have to go uncheck Enable Spaces in System Preferences?

OS X :: Spaces Shortcut Keys - No Longer Work - System Preferences Being Unassigned?

Aug 2, 2009

Whenever I assign shortcut keys to Spaces using the Expose' & Spaces panel in System Preferences, it seems that in a day or two the shortcut keys no longer work and System Preferences shows them as being unassigned. I thought there may be a conflict with another shortcut but there isn't - at least according to the Keyboard & Mouse panel in System Preferences. This happens on both my MBP and my iMac as well as on the PowerMac I recently sold. I've tried other keys and combinations but with the same results. I've also experienced this in all versions of Leopard including the current 10.5.7. I'm using F8 to activate Spaces, Command + Option + Arrow key to switch between Spaces and Command + Option + Number key to switch directly to a Space. Has anyone else experienced this?

OS X :: Inconvenient And Slow - Command / Shortcut?

Nov 7, 2010

I finally realized that I never use the four finger swipe to switch apps, thus I changed it to switch between spaces. Now I need short cuts of some sort to easily send windows into another space. I used to use the left bottom corner to open spaces and than move the windows around but that is inconvenient and slow. Is there any short cut that I press that moves any given window to another space. Or how can I create one. I have BetterTouchTool but I didn't find any command to make this happen. I am thinking of something like option+2 to send a window into the second space. In XP I had something similar to spaces and with ctrl+3 I switched to the 3rd space and with alt/opt+3 the active window moved to the 3 space.

Safari :: Disable (Command + Arrow) Back And Forward Keyboard Shortcut?

Apr 27, 2012

How can I disable the (Command + "Left or Right Arrow") Keystroke in Safari that navigates Back and Forward. If I could also disable the (delete) key from navigating back, I would be happy.

I edit text with these keystrokes all the time and now that I've upgraded to Lion and Safari 5.1.5 I run into problems with my workflow.

I just want (delete) to delete text and (Command + Arrow Key) to select a whole line of text.

However, how do I use the shortcut for 10 - 16? I tried pressing ^ - 10. But it simply brings me back to Space 1 as it recognizes the first digit only.
