View 2 RepliesIm in the market for a used Apple wireless keyboard. On eBay I noticed two different models, the A1255 and the A1314. Whats the difference? Are they the same size? I am planning to get the BulletTrain Express keyboard and trackpad tray.

I have experience with Chiclet keyboards with the first generation MacBook I used from 2006 to 2007 and the HP DM3z I am currently using since I bought it in October 2009, and am really satisfied with it, but also was really satsifed with my MacBook Pro "classic" keyboard.

I am, however, interested in finding a keyboard that has both a numeric keypad (disqualifies the Apple wireless) and that can turn on my MB Pro without my having to open the computer and hit the button. I know, a stupid thing, but I like it. Does the Apple Wired keyboard have the on/off ability? Anyone use the RocketFish keyboard? Has a keypad.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAnybody know if the Apple wireless keyboard works with the XBOX 360? Been searching the web (google+mroogle) and haven't found anything except for "if it needs a driver it probably doesn't work". And if you have a wireless keyboard working with the 360 would you mind to post it here? Not much material on the interweb.
View 6 Replies View Relatedi've been using the aluminum wired keyboard for the last 2 years or so. i just upgraded to the new BT version.
for whatever reason i cannot get used to typing on this thing! it feels like the keys are smaller or something. hard to explain.
If you have to buy your new iMac from one of the retail stores rather than online you will no doubt have had worries about the keyboard.
With the small keyboard bundled many stores will not allow the option of a larger keyboards. Some people have posted here however that some stores where swapping out keyboards for them, others even managed to get a free full size keyboard sent to them after calling apple and complaining.
I'm hoping people will post their keyboard experiences here along with the apple store they visited to help build up a reference list for others in this situation.
I'll start by saying the apple store in Liverpool ONE , will not, under any circumstances swap out keyboards.
What is the print screen command on the Apple keyboards?

I've shied away from wireless keyboards in the past because I do alot of online baking and investment activities from my computer. I also love a clean workspace and a wireless keyboard could remove yet another wire from my desk. Do you consider wireless and/or bluetooth keyboards safe?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a compatible PCI 802.11n wireless NIC to put in my Mac Pro. I have seen an internal module that is 802.11n and has to be screwed in, but it'll be quicker to throw in a PCI card. Are there any I can buy at any big box electronic store or should I just go and find the internal, screw-in card?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been given a PowerBook G3. I'm not sure which version it is or anything. But its a PowerBook G3 because it says on the screen. How do I find out exactly what machine I've been given and what wireless card to have a look for. I wouldn't mind spending a couple of quid on ebay for an old second hand airport card just for fun really. Its got os9 on atm. I've got an old osx10.1 disk somewhere I might try and update it a little.

I've got a MacBook Pro, and then I've also got 2 other Windows XP laptops. I'm looking for a wireless wifi printer that I'll be able to use with all 3 notebooks. I want something that also scans and copies. I don't care about fax. Also trying to stay below $150. Looking at Epson 700 and Kodak ESP 7.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI just got a new Macbook and I'm loving it! I also have a desktop PC, although I much prefer using the Mac I have some programs and such that can only be on PC or that I cannot afford to buy for Mac. The one issue about having a laptop is that I find typing when at my desk quite difficult, and have started getting back and shoulder ache from leaning forward to type. I thought about getting a wireless keyboard (and maybe a mouse too) so that I can use a keyboard for the Mac when at my desk. The thing is, I already have a PC keyboard and mouse on my desk and have limited space. Is there an option for a wireless keyboard that is compatible for both PC and Mac? And is it possible to have one keyboard and mouse for two computers? I probably won't be using the two at the same time ever.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI would like to get a USB wireless N dongle for my old PC, easy enough to do I was going to go with a Linksys WUSB600N but then realized I might as well get something that is Mac compatible so I can sometimes use it on my old PowerBook. After doing some research I found out that newer TrendNet dongles and some D-Link dongles are Mac compatible. I don't know about TrendNet because they always seemed a little cheap, I've used D-Link routers before and they're ok but the dongles compatibility with Macs seems to depend on the hardware revision. Are there any other brands who make Mac compatible wireless N USB dongles?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI noticed Kennsington's wireless USB docking station on sale at Frys Site earlier this morning. The description mentions the docking station is Mac compatible. I've searched these forums and the net and haven't found any threads on people using this with a Mac in the past, it seems wayyy too good to be true. I was hoping somebody a little more tech savvy than myself might be able to weigh in on this. I attached the link to the USB docking station below and I also own a mid-late 2008 MBP. [URL].

Ok, last night there was an update for OSx Lion. I installed the 3 items, it said I needed to restart, which I did. When it restarted there was another box, which was checking the updates or something. After that finished, it logged into my home screen, and I shut it off. Today, I tried turning it on and it was stuck. After 10 minutes, I held the power button to shut it off and try again. I did this twice, and on the third time a loading bar showed up at the bottom of the screen, went for a while and almost reached halfway, then it dissappeared. I waited, but nothing happened. What's wrong and how to I fix it? I think its 10.7.3, but it might be 10.7.2 I'm not sure what the difference is.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if there is such a thing as a sticker to make the white glowing Apple, black.
I want the Apple to match my iMac's. I don't want it to be completely black without the glowing light though.
If it does exist, where can I buy it?

My MacBook Pro won't boot past the white startup screen with the Apple logo. After doing some trouble shooting my best guess is that the issue is either an issue with the logic board or the hard drive, but I am no expert so I may not be right. Here is what I have tried so far. I have done all these steps multiple times and the results have varied, but here are my most recent results:
1) First off, there are no peripherals connected so that is already ruled out as the cause.
2) When I try starting up in safe mode (holding shift while starting), the Apple logo, spinning wheel and progress bar appear. The progress bar fills about a third of the way then stops. I have left it for quite a long time and it still stays at a third of the way.
3) When running a safe boot (holding shift+command+v at startup) it gives me a " SATA WARNING: Enable auto-activate failed" message, and then eventually times out. Here is the full message:
4) Resetting the PRAM (holding option+command+p+r at startup) does the second chime but only results in the flashing folder icon with the question mark.
5) I tried booting up the computer in single user mode (holding command+s at startup) and running fsck -fy, it again gives me a "SATA WARNING: Enable auto-activate failed", then eventually times out. Here is the full message:
6) I tried booting in recovery mode (holding option while starting). When I do this I do not get the OSX utilities screen. Instead I get a white screen, sometimes my hard drive shows up on the screen, sometimes it does not.
If i boot in recovery mode with my osx install disc inserted the disc appears. If I select the hard drive we are just back to the apple logo and spinning wheel. If I select the install disc it goes to the apple logo/spinning wheel again, sometimes it allows me to start running the install, but then when it gets to the step where you select the hard drive to run the install on, no hard drives appear.
So that's where I'm at. I do not care about losing any data because luckily I backed up this machine right before this started happening.
Apple alongside its 2009 Back-to-School promotion on Wednesday also updated its entry-level white MacBook with a faster Intel processor, memory architecture and more hard disk space.
The update was announced quietly on the company's online store. For the same $999 Apple charged for the previous iteration of the white polycarbonate model, users get a 2.13GHz processor (up from 2.0GHz), a 160GB Serial ATA Drive @ 5400 rpm (up from 120GB), and 2GB 800MHz DDR2 SDRAM (up from 2GB 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM).The update is the second this year to the Cupertino-based company's entry-level notebook offering, the first of which arrived on January 21st when model was updated with NVIDIA's 9400M graphics architecture.
That update also saw the notebook gain the same 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 1,066MHz front-side bus employed by the mid-range aluminum unibody MacBook, as well as a doubling of its memory to 2GB. The new white MacBook is eligible for Apple's just-announced Back-to-School promo, which offers a $229 online rebate good for a free 8GB iPod touch to qualifying education individuals who purchase a qualifying Mac and the iPod on the same receipt before September 8th.
