All third party and several other PDF files that i need to print show on the screen in PDF form but when i go to the print screen the form disappears.

This button allowed (in Snow Leopard and even in Tiger) to see the final page full size, or even to save as a PDF file. This functionality is sadly missing on my computer since I have upgraded to LION, making me regret the move. Is there some pref somewhere that I should adjust, or just plainly forget about it. ? When I print, the dialog window does NOT show the Preview button anymore.
I am on a MacBook Pro 17".
How do I print what is on my screen? There was a button for this in Windows on the keyboard.

I am suddenly having a problem saving or printing PDF files from the browser, but it extends to all browsers in OS X. I can view the PDF normally but if I try to print as PDF all it shows is two black pages. Then if I try to save as a PDF it tells me the document could not be exported. I just tried this with a PDF and the only way I could get it was via Windows running on Parallels. I've already tried resetting the printer by removing and adding it again with the alt key pressed but this made no difference. Â
This all started about a week or so ago and I just ignored it at first thinking it was something wrong with a particular file but now it's happening in all cases. I'm running the latest 10.7.3 on a new Mac Pro and everything is up to date.

I couldn't transfer my files over from my old G4 because the video card died in that Mac, so I put the hard drive into an external USB case and did the transfer of my old settings that way using Migration Assistant. All my settings seems to have moved fine and I manually moved my web files to Library/WebServer/ Documents folder, but when I turn on Web Sharing none of my files show up on the server although they are all in the Library/WebServer/ Documents folder and Web Sharing is turned on Sharing Preferences. All I get when I access the IP is "It Works".

Its a pretty fast machine and i'm really happy with the way it runs, however when I open a folder to view files, it opens and shows a blank folder and then I get the black pinwheel in the bottom left/right hand side and I have to wait for sometimes over 30 seconds before the files in that folder are shown!?Â
One thing to point out is that it doesn't always happen and its not restricted to particular folders. I can open a folder and it will show the files straight away, however I can re-open that folder and it will take up to 30 seconds to show the files...Â
I've tried rebooting and running nothing, but it still happens. And I have also tried the normal disk utilities to check permissions, etc and I think these are fine too..Â

how to keep certain files from being looked up in ALL My Files finder search?
I have a folder that is Write Access only for me and No Access for everyone else for important files. This file is also locked. You can't click on it, open it, etc with out getting permission pop ups. Â
HOWEVER! When using Finder's All My Files it will actually show me those files in the locked folder! Plus I can Open them, Copy them etc! I have the path bar view turned on at the bottom and it's so messed up. I can click and open the file from there, but I can't click and open the folder containing it. Â
Thoughts on how to hide these folder contents from all my files search? I really don't want to hide each and every file, that's why they're in a folder.

We use Paypal to print off and pay for postage labels. Usually there are 2 or 3 pages depending on the country the label is for. Unfortunately, we don't need the customs label or the insurance page, so 2 out of 3 pages are a waste of ink and time and unfortunately again, these 2 unecessary pages have a habit of printing out first..Until I installed Snow Leopard last year. And magically the print order reversed and I was able to get my label off and cancel the rest.I got a new printer this week, and it's printing back in the old order Totally miffed. Anyway to affect the label order? It's going to save so much trouble

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have recently upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mavericks and am now having problem with my hp 4500 office jet printer. The print icon tends to stay on the dock after the print job is done and then mess up the print queue. Even worse if I forget to cancel it manually then when I put the computer on 'sleep' the printer starts up again and the whole job is rerun unless I get to cancel it quickly on the printer! Â
It does not always do this (the print icon disappearing as it should do), but for 90% of the time it does.Â
The printer is an HP1300 that loads up with the data from the MacMini but as soon as data is transferred the printer drops out.

My iMac OS 10.6.4 recently had a drive failure and I had to re-install my apps. Since then I cannot print from my Filemaker files (ver. 8.5 and 9.0). The print dialog window appears but the normal looking Print button does nothing. To print I have to click the Preview button which works fine, and then print from Preview. Most of my printing is done through scriptsall of which fail to print at that point, but I've tried printing a single record using the Menu command and have the same hang up. I re-installed from the CD but it did not fix the problem.
