So I have my own Apple ID but without a credit card(will be getting one this summer). So my dad said that if I wan't to download music or paid items,I should log in to his account(with credit card). Is that possible? So basicly I can install free stuff with my ID,and paid stuff with his?

I moved all of my files over to my new computer (NOT using migration assistant, wanted a new setup) and i got everything but my keychains.How can i move my internet keychains over? I have an Intel MacPro dual core with 8gb of ram and over 300mb available in disk, I just finished installing Lion and suddenly the computer started running very slow. When I finished the installation the computer was running pretty well and I really don't know why is running slow like this. I checked the system and everything looks fine, I mean, plenty of ram memory, over 4gb available, plenty of space in my hd and resources seams like quite a bit of usage. Is this due to spotlight doing indexing?mI was wondering if this is the probable cause of this drop of speed.

how to install the Lion OS on more than one computer? I downloaded and installed Lion on my iMac today, but want to do the same for my other two computers as well. Is there a way to find the DMG file and save it onto a flash drive instead of downloading it all over again? I searched using Spotlight and could not find the downloaded file anywhere.Â

it is very strange that when i turn off my wifi, i can change it and once i turn on wifi the computer name will be changed back automatically.Â

I have an older iMac, 20-inch late 2006. Model Identifier iMac5,1. Processor 2.16 GHz Core 2 Duo, 3 GB RAM. Running OS X Lion 10.7.4. Suddenly the computer has started to behave erratically. It has been crashing and will no longer boot properly. It will boot OK in Safe Mode, but I can no longer make it boot regularly. What can I do to make this work again. When I try to boot normally, I cannot get past an all white screen, after I hear the start up chime and see the Apple logo. I do have a feeling that OS X Lion is just too much for this computer, and I do plan to buy a new one very soon. Hopefully new iMacs will be announced tomorrow. In the mean time I do need to make this work, until I will get a new computer as soon as the new ones come out.

I am currently using a mid-2009 13-in MacBook Pro with an upgraded hard drive (750 SATA disk). I had ZERO problems with the computer prior to or after the hard drive upgrade UNTIL I got Lion (currently have 10.7.3).
Now, not a day goes by when my computer doesn't freeze. If I try to open multiple web pages AND Word at the same time, the spinning wheel of death pops up. God forbid I even think of opening PhotoShop. I can usually get the Force Quit application to appear, but it never works, and ultimately my computer can only be made to work by shutting down and restarting.
As a grad student who uses my computer for research (usually involving multiple web pages, datasets in Excel, Word notes, and sometimes statistical software packages like Stata all running at the same time) this is very very frustrating.I'm tech-capable to a point, but I am not well-versed enough to know how to fix this on my own (or if there even IS a fix). I was a loyal Mac enthusiast until recently, but this has got me at my wit's end.

The screensaver countdown does not seem to work correctly: if I set it to, say, 5 minutes, then after 5 minutes (irrespective of whether I'm using an attached mouse or keyboard, or the laptop keyboard/ trackpad), then the screensaver will start. Even when actually typing, the screensaver will still cut in for a brief moment before cancelling itself.Â
The only workaround is to turn the screensaver off.Â
This doesn't seem to be a Lion-specific issue - the problem started with Snow Leopard, and has continued now that I've upgraded to Lion.Â

I got a message to update some software, so I pushed the right keys to download. A few minutes later I got an error key and the screen went gray. I shut it down. Then I got a message that says, "You need to restart your computer. Hold down the Power button until it turns off, then press the Power button again." I've done this countless times. The message in the left corner says panic, which I am doing.

The sound no longer works on my computer, however when I check in system preferences it says everthing is fime, also the microphone still works. All I did was un plug my headphones from the computer. I did go to system preferences and changed it back to internal speakers, but that did nothing.
