May 11, 2012Did the 10.7.4 update yesterday and now I have a duplicate mail account with all the same email. I had my incoming mail server set to 535box.bluehost. Now I also have one set to mail.mywebhost. I tried deleting the duplicate yesterday but it screwed up all the mail in the other account. How to eliminate one without messing with the other?

Mar 26, 2012I've had this email account with AT&T for a few years and it has worked with Mac Mail with no difficulty for a few years. Recently the account has been able to receive messages. Every time I hit Get Mail it asks for a password. I have installed all the latest updates through Software Update. I have a Mac Mini with OS Lion. After struggling for awhile, my inbox eventually comes in. I have reset all the incoming and outgoing POP Server accounts, as well as used the Web-mail version through [URL] and it all works fine.

Set up new account with same email (some password security errors side) but now cannot change to new account to sent emails as mail only lets me select the email address to send from and not the mail account.

Apr 22, 2012I've got really odd behavior in my Mail application running on a MacBook Pro 2.7GHz Intel Core i7 4GB RAM OS X 10.7.3. I have several email accounts. In one of them, "X," some emails don't show up in the account Inbox even though they are present in the overall Inbox marked as "Inbox - X"! Also, when I set up a Smart Mailbox with as criterion that the sender is "Y," the sender of one of these "missing" emails, those emails don't show in the Smart Mailbox. What's going on here? It screws up my email management as I can't be sure my Smart Mailboxes and folders contain all that they're supposed to.

I have more than one email account set up on Mail and the strangest thing happens and I can't find out how to stop it.
Here is the problem:
- I have 2 accounts, 'Account A' is for my partner & 'Account B' is for me.
- Someone sends an email to 'Account A' (my partner) and CCs 'Account B' (me) into the same eMail.
- If I click reply from 'Account B' it sends the eMail from 'Account A' which is my partner, when it should be from me.
I have worked out that this is because 'Account A' was originally sent the eMail in The 'To' field as opposed to the 'CC' field in composing the reply eMail. I know that I can manually change the 'From' field every time when replying to an eMail but it becomes an nuisance. I forget to do it when quickly replying as I consider Mail to reply from the account that I'm reading the email from.
I have gone to the compose section in the preferences and there is an option for changing this when composing a new email but nothing when replying.

I want to avoid any conflicts with my old settings for my wireless network with my MBP. Should I uninstall the last version of Airport Utility?Is there anything else anyone would recommend before i install or connect the new hardware/software?

May 24, 2012I bought this new MacBook Pro a month ago. When I try logging into my guest account, it froze. I had no other alternative but to get out of it by pressing the power button. Then I tried open a new user account to see if it also has the same problem. Unfortunately it did have the same problem - froze after I logged in. I had done a harddisk check, there seemed to be no problem.

I am a former .me user that was migrated to the cloud. Unitl now, no issues with email. I cann actually sign on to mobile me but still cannot get to the email.

May 27, 2012A freshly created account under 10.7.4. is a Admin account by default. The checkbox "Allow user to administer this computer" is grayed out. I end up with an Admin account and there is no way to convert this account into a Standard account. Facts: 10.7.4 - clean install on a current iMac i5 Freshly created account uses name of a deleted older account (my name)Repaired permissions several times (disk utility and "resetpassword utility" via terminal and safe boot)The older account had been relocated to a external disc for security reasons. There the access rights got corrupted so that I wanted to freshly create a new account and copy all files from a backup. how to create a new account for me?Â

Not what was intended. I must point out I'm an absolute new switcher from XP. Delighted with the Macbook Air but bewidered by the software.
