View 3 RepliesOK, so my email has been changed to a new account. Told to keep old account and settings on computer as to not lose old emails on mac. Â
Set up new account with same email (some password security errors side) but now cannot change to new account to sent emails as mail only lets me select the email address to send from and not the mail account.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy dad needed an Apple ID account, so we did the usual (registering and such). There was a confusion with the email address and I by mistake put the wrong email address down. The email account I wrote down is perhaps in use or perhaps not, but most importantly the billing information is on the account. How do I change the address to something else? Will the email be sent to a person who will take advantage of the bank credentials?

I have just signed up for a MobileMe email address. I want to change my existing iTunes account registered email address to this new @me.com address. However, when I try to do so in my account details page, it says that my me.com email address already has an iTunes account attached to it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedDid the 10.7.4 update yesterday and now I have a duplicate mail account with all the same email. I had my incoming mail server set to 535box.bluehost. Now I also have one set to mail.mywebhost. I tried deleting the duplicate yesterday but it screwed up all the mail in the other account. How to eliminate one without messing with the other?

I've had this email account with AT&T for a few years and it has worked with Mac Mail with no difficulty for a few years. Recently the account has been able to receive messages. Every time I hit Get Mail it asks for a password. I have installed all the latest updates through Software Update. I have a Mac Mini with OS Lion. After struggling for awhile, my inbox eventually comes in. I have reset all the incoming and outgoing POP Server accounts, as well as used the Web-mail version through [URL] and it all works fine.

change my 'From' email address in Mail.app in Lion. I have my own SMTP credentails to use my own domain email address in gmail. I would love to use this same 'from' address in Mail.app, but I cannot work out how this works. Is this possible? I want to stop having my Gmail address being shown when I use Mail.app. Â
Ideally, this would also work in the Mail app in iOS. Â
I know that I cannot use my own domain email in iCloud, so for now I must continue to use Gmail.Â

I've a user who has been given a company shared MacBook Air. The account name was previously our company name, but I've sucessfully followed the guide [URL] to change this. Thus, the username is now now his firstname & lastname. The home folder is firstnamelastname. However, the old username (our company name) is still showing up as the username for some email recipients and airdrop.I'm guessing the email name might be saved localy on a few of the users contacts since he's been sending a few emails before the user name was updated. Can this be confirmed in any way?

View 7 Replies View RelatedWe had a HDD fail on one of our office Mac laptops (a power pc G4). Apple repaired it and I restored all files etc from a backup. I was the administrator during the restore. Before I could get back, the user changed that account to a standard account and changed the name. Now there is no way to change the account back, because there is no admin to authenticate the change. Anything I can do? I am not an advanced computer/Mac person.

I've been changing the permissions on some of my folders and files in my normal user account so they can be accessed and changed by another account. Problem is, I have a program that saves new files into a particular folder. When it saves the new file, the permissions are the default, meaning I have to change them myself in order to make them writeable by the new account. So my first question is - is there a way to make my first user account always save files with a set of permissions that I specify?
My next question is - what should these permissions be? Both of the accounts are admin accounts. Should I therefore set group to be 'admin' and give rwx permissions to the group? Or is it possible to set owner to 'admin'? Can a file be owned by a group? Looking forward to your answers! This UNIX stuff is fun!
I've got really odd behavior in my Mail application running on a MacBook Pro 2.7GHz Intel Core i7 4GB RAM OS X 10.7.3. I have several email accounts. In one of them, "X," some emails don't show up in the account Inbox even though they are present in the overall Inbox marked as "Inbox - X"! Also, when I set up a Smart Mailbox with as criterion that the sender is "Y," the sender of one of these "missing" emails, those emails don't show in the Smart Mailbox. What's going on here? It screws up my email management as I can't be sure my Smart Mailboxes and folders contain all that they're supposed to.
