I wanted to set up an email separate email account for myself and my wife on our new Macbook. However, while there are 2 mailboxes, all the mail is "lumped" together. Not what was intended. I must point out I'm an absolute new switcher from XP. Delighted with the Macbook Air but bewidered by the software. Really, I cannot believe it's not possible to have multiple email accounts.
The AppleID of all my accounts (iTunes, ADC, Apple Dev Center, apple store) is my mobileme email (username@mac.com)
I would like to change this (using some other appleid to separate these accounts from mobileme) so that I don't need to renew my mobileme subscription. From Apple websites, I cannot do this, AppleID cannot be changed if it is a mobileme id.
How can I do? What will happend if my mobileme subscription finished? All accounts will be finished or what else?
If I create a second user account that does not get logged into unless I manually do it, and then install a program on it. Can the files on there be seen through the administrators account? If so, how would you hide that sort of thing so that the when the admin inputs the file name into finder, nothing shows up?
I use comcast for my email/internet. I set up three separate accounts each using the same return mail server: mail.comcast.net, but with separate smtp account names, password etc.No matter what smtp setting i use to send mail, i get 3 duplicate emails when anyone replies to my message. If I get a new message from someone the same thing happens. 3 duplicate messages.hat can I do to rectify this situation.Comcast Keeps asking for my passwords, over & over again.
How do I set up a seperate email address. I only have one at the moment, and would like to add another one for a different set of people to contact me. Surely my MobileMe account allows more then one address?
I want to setup my wifes user account on my MacPro, she currently does not use this machine, and since I have 5 HD's installed on this machine, and the boot drive is SSD, with LTD space, I'd like to add this user account to another drive.
I then want to use migration assistant to bring all of her mail, and folders over. Â Info: Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.1)
I am running OS X Yosemite 10.10.1. I have two drives on my MacBook Pro 17-inch, mid 2010. One is 500 GB and one is 80 GB. The system was installed on the 80GB drive and my home folder was on the 500GB drive. Having the "Home" folder on a separate partition was causing all kinds of permission problems. So, I did a clean install of Yosemite and want to put everything on the 500GB drive. Â
When I go to restore from Time Machine, it tells me it can't restore the "Home" account because it is on a separate drive. Then, of course, I can't login to that account on the restored system – I get an error "can't log in to that account due to an error." Â
How do I restore and associate the backed up "Home" folder to the new "Home" account on the restored drive? The names of the users are exactly the same on the backup as on the "Home" account on the restored drive.Â
I am VERY new to Macs have always had PC,s. we are switching the house and personal laptops to Macs. My major problem at this time is email. Is there a way to add outlook express email to the mobile me email account?
I have an iMac 27 (end of year 2009) I5.It has 1 TB internal and I want to replace it with a 2 TB internal. I have time machine backups on an external hard drive that has been connected via Firewire. I have another iMac (my son's)Imac 24 Intel Core 2 Duo that has it's own separate Time machine backup to it's own separate firewire connected external drive. Both machines are completely up to date with the latest version of Lion and all other necessary software updates. When the internal hardrive is replaced - I want to use my latest time machine backup to create one profile on the imac and then use my son's latest time machine back up for a second profile. The end goal being to have everything from my current set up ie: apps, documents, itunes, etc existing in one profile and everything in my son's current set up existing in the other profile. We can both be administrators for the time being as well.I should note even though we both have some of the same apps, we both also have other apps that the other does not.
My profile will be using about 900 gigs of total space. My son's profile will be using about 250 gigs of total space. This is temporary until the new iMac is released. Then I will want to transfer my profile to that leaving my son's intact on the iMac 27 I5.I realize that during the temporary period that Time Machine will be making backups of this entire two profile setup, which I am now understanding as I write this will create a new issue for me when I want to transfer only my profile to the new computer as well. But one bridge to cross at a time, I guess.I need to do this because we must bring his current computer to my father - as his iMac G5 is inoperable. We have been doing this round robin hand me down in our family since IMac DV special edition :-)
My wife and I each have iPods and each have our own computers with our own iTunes libraries. We have a wireless router and want to play music from our computers to a hifi system. If I purchase an Airport Express, is it possible that my wife and I can both play music from our separate computers to the one Airport Express Base Station (obviously not at the same time)?
I have two POP email accounts that have been working quite well on my MacBook for several months. About a week ago one of them stopped receiving emails. I have deleted the account and set it up again to no avail. If I check the account information it lists all the emails on the server. I can open it on my browser and the mail is being delivered just fine there - just not on my imail account. The two email accounts that I have are set up the same and only one is receiving mail.
How can I block other people from logging into my email or information on my computer?I believe Someone has access to my email account and information on my macbook . Any safety features to keep people from logging on to my email address?
My website host says spam is being sent out from my computer over my private email account and I should scan my computer for virus or malware. Which app should I use? I checked my Macbook Air, iPad and iPhone and none show any emails being sent other than the few I have sent. Website host says they are coming from my computer and going through his server.Â
Am in the process of getting new email addresses for a new company and want to receive these emails through mac mail not my yahoo account. How do I register them to "mail" on my mac book?
For some reason each time I go into my email I am being asked the following. Enter password from Account ".mac". How do I find out my password if I have forgotten it?
I have more than one email account set up on Mail and the strangest thing happens and I can't find out how to stop it.
Here is the problem:
- I have 2 accounts, 'Account A' is for my partner & 'Account B' is for me. - Someone sends an email to 'Account A' (my partner) and CCs 'Account B' (me) into the same eMail. - If I click reply from 'Account B' it sends the eMail from 'Account A' which is my partner, when it should be from me.
I have worked out that this is because 'Account A' was originally sent the eMail in The 'To' field as opposed to the 'CC' field in composing the reply eMail. I know that I can manually change the 'From' field every time when replying to an eMail but it becomes an nuisance. I forget to do it when quickly replying as I consider Mail to reply from the account that I'm reading the email from.
I have gone to the compose section in the preferences and there is an option for changing this when composing a new email but nothing when replying.
As of last a few days ago, AOL has officially banned my account for a ludicrous reason; they said I was in breach of some sort of age restriction. Anyway, now I use g-mail, and everything's been great, besides the fact that my old AOL account was what I used to set up every online account I've ever made, including my Apple Account. How would I switch my account email address without any current access to my old one?
