Did the 10.7.4 update yesterday and now I have a duplicate mail account with all the same email. I had my incoming mail server set to 535box.bluehost. Now I also have one set to mail.mywebhost. I tried deleting the duplicate yesterday but it screwed up all the mail in the other account. How to eliminate one without messing with the other?

I've had this email account with AT&T for a few years and it has worked with Mac Mail with no difficulty for a few years. Recently the account has been able to receive messages. Every time I hit Get Mail it asks for a password. I have installed all the latest updates through Software Update. I have a Mac Mini with OS Lion. After struggling for awhile, my inbox eventually comes in. I have reset all the incoming and outgoing POP Server accounts, as well as used the Web-mail version through [URL] and it all works fine.

OK, so my email has been changed to a new account. Told to keep old account and settings on computer as to not lose old emails on mac. Â
Set up new account with same email (some password security errors side) but now cannot change to new account to sent emails as mail only lets me select the email address to send from and not the mail account.
I have several email accounts with different SMTP settings. So I may want to use the account from time to time but I don't need to be checking mail and downloading all the accounts. How can I set up a mail group to check mail from several accounts - but exclude one of the accounts (its duplicated you see). I am using outlook 2010.

Software update downloaded and installed a system update. Opened Mail to find that it had duplicated one of my accounts. I now have two accounts with the same email address.Â
I'd like to delete one of them (no big deal), except that Mail tells me it will delete all messages associated with this address. That would be a lot of messages and messages that I need.Â

I set up three separate accounts each using the same return mail server: mail.comcast.net, but with separate smtp account names, password etc.No matter what smtp setting i use to send mail, i get 3 duplicate emails when anyone replies to my message. I tried trashing the prefs and that helped for a few days, but it keeps coming back. I also setup and tested my mail account on another machine and that machine never gets doubles.

After updating to System 10.7.4, I can't access my iCloud email account on any of my devices (computer and iPhone 4S). The servers are not recognizing my email password, which is the same as my Apple ID password. I can log in to iCloud using Safari and access all of my other information (contacts, etc.), but not email. I tried going to Keychain Access and found that my old MobileMe password was correct (now my iCloud and Apple ID password), but the "application password" associated with my email account (which is now my iCloud email account) had been switched to a long string of nonsense. I tried changing that string to my actual apple ID password, but the system changed it back to the nonsense string.

Just used migration assistant to switch from an older iMac to a new iMac and now I have two admin accounts under Users & Groups. My name is slightly different on the two admin accounts. When I switch to the other admin account it appears the files are from ~2010. This admin account is greyed out, so I cannot seem to remove it. Is it taking up space? Will it create a problem?

I've been having problems with Logic Pro ever since the 10.5.2 update (and other updates that appeared at the same time). Some folks on the Apple discussion forums thought that font issues may be to blame. Most, however, still have problems after resolving their font problems. I went into Font Book anyway to see if there was anything I could clean up. I've already done the "resolve duplicates" thing with fonts that had the dot by their name. This time, I selected all fonts and validated them. I ended up with 42 'minor problems'.
After going through each one to see what the problem is, they all said it was a duplicate font issue. Now, I'm not the type to go deleting fonts willie-nillie. When I went back into Font Book, each of the problem fonts did indeed have duplicates when I folded down the little triangle guy. All of the duplicates were grayed out with the word OFF next to them. Should I delete these guys that are already off and disabled? Would that actually have any benefit, or is the fact that Font Book turn them OFF the proper solution?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got really odd behavior in my Mail application running on a MacBook Pro 2.7GHz Intel Core i7 4GB RAM OS X 10.7.3. I have several email accounts. In one of them, "X," some emails don't show up in the account Inbox even though they are present in the overall Inbox marked as "Inbox - X"! Also, when I set up a Smart Mailbox with as criterion that the sender is "Y," the sender of one of these "missing" emails, those emails don't show in the Smart Mailbox. What's going on here? It screws up my email management as I can't be sure my Smart Mailboxes and folders contain all that they're supposed to.

I have more than one email account set up on Mail and the strangest thing happens and I can't find out how to stop it.
Here is the problem:
- I have 2 accounts, 'Account A' is for my partner & 'Account B' is for me.
- Someone sends an email to 'Account A' (my partner) and CCs 'Account B' (me) into the same eMail.
- If I click reply from 'Account B' it sends the eMail from 'Account A' which is my partner, when it should be from me.
I have worked out that this is because 'Account A' was originally sent the eMail in The 'To' field as opposed to the 'CC' field in composing the reply eMail. I know that I can manually change the 'From' field every time when replying to an eMail but it becomes an nuisance. I forget to do it when quickly replying as I consider Mail to reply from the account that I'm reading the email from.
I have gone to the compose section in the preferences and there is an option for changing this when composing a new email but nothing when replying.
I bought this new MacBook Pro a month ago. When I try logging into my guest account, it froze. I had no other alternative but to get out of it by pressing the power button. Then I tried open a new user account to see if it also has the same problem. Unfortunately it did have the same problem - froze after I logged in. I had done a harddisk check, there seemed to be no problem.

I am getting the error: CANNOT GET MAIL.the user name or password for icloud is incorrect on both of my ipads, my iphone and my Macbook air. The username and password are the same that I have been using for years.
