Oct 8, 2009so before my uncle from china buys a macbook. I just want to make sure for him that during the new mac registration process we can choose chinese language right? And if we do choose it all of the osx will be displayed in chinese? What about the software we install like office or something?

Oct 28, 2010There is no "copies & pages" and "quartz filter" on my print menu. I've have tried my darndest to print in black and white to no avail. I also can only print one page at a time. The options are just not there. Why? And how do I correct this?

Sep 30, 2010I added a network printer (HP Laserjet 2300) to my MB (OS 10.5.8) printer list and I can print single sided just fine. BUT there is no option anywhere in my print menu to print double sided. My two labmates can print double sided on this printer (one using MBP with OS 10.6, one a Windows PC). The menu on the MBP looks different and where I have the "reverse pages" option, they have a "double-sided" check box.
I have already:
-Checked the Duplex Unit box on the printer info menu in System preferences
-Looked at ALL the sub menus in the printer menu
-tried to reinstall the drivers (current driver v. 4.3.5.153 - I suspect this may be the issue because the MBP that can print double sided has driver v. 16.something). Actually the HP site was extraordinarily unhelpful in telling me even what version of drivers I should have or getting me to a place where i could download.
-Restarted my computer with various iterations of the above.
This printer can and does print double sided -just not from my computer because I don't have the check box.

Mar 27, 2012I get a little annoyed when doing CMD+SPACE and seeing the list of lanaguages being switched between.So I did the normal thing I did on SNow Leopard/ Leopaard/ etc, and disabled the switch in Keyboard preferences.Even though they are both switched off, the langauges still come up when I choose cmd+space.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: System Uses Non-default Language After Log In
May 22, 2012I am bilingual, and use two languages on my Mac - English as default, and Russian as secondary. After the update to 10.7.4. every time I log back in (have a password on my Mac Pro), all the programs have Russian language. For example, I open a Chrome window to start typing in the web address, and it writes in Russian language. I cannot remove Russian language, as I use it as much as English language. But I would like to have English as default like I am used to. I have checked in the Preferences, everything is as it used to be, primary English, and secondary Russian. But the problem persists even after the reboot, changes in the Preferences.
It is not hard to switch between the languages, it is just annoying to expect the machine run in English, and then see the other language, and switch.
P.S. Besides, the English language icon is became more dull after the update. Not that I complain, just want to know if it is normal or there IS the problem with languages on my Mac.Â

Jun 28, 2014I have recently upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mavericks and am now having problem with my hp 4500 office jet printer. The print icon tends to stay on the dock after the print job is done and then mess up the print queue. Even worse if I forget to cancel it manually then when I put the computer on 'sleep' the printer starts up again and the whole job is rerun unless I get to cancel it quickly on the printer! Â
It does not always do this (the print icon disappearing as it should do), but for 90% of the time it does.Â

Apr 5, 2012I have an iMac and added LION to it. I have Fluenz software that I was using ok on Snow Leopard. I downloaded a fix for the Fluenz from there website that was supposed to fix everything. Now Fluenz does not work at all. When I take it off the iMac and try to reinstall the Fluenz I get the following message "You can't open the application Fluenz setup.osx because PowerPC applications are no longer supported".what I can do to fix this and get the Fluenz to run?

I have added a language under the first tab, Language, only to find that there is no correspondingly supported input option under the fourth tab, Input Sources.
I would now like to remove the entry I added under the first tab, Langauge, but cannot figure out how to do this. I have tried highlighting and pressing delete, dragging it out of the window, etc., but so far nothing works.

I came here to live with my mom for a while in mexico due to personal resons and while I was here I decided to buy the newer hard drive for my mac which is the 10.7.4Â But when they installed it all the default programs they installed such as "word"Is all in spanish And I want to know how I can change the lanuage to english?
