so before my uncle from china buys a macbook. I just want to make sure for him that during the new mac registration process we can choose chinese language right? And if we do choose it all of the osx will be displayed in chinese? What about the software we install like office or something?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a mac pro 2x2.66 intel I'm running os x 10.4.11 (i know i'm going to wipe and install soon) I have a 27" apple led connected with the atlong dp400 first, the issue doesn't seem to be hardware related and is user specific.
I have two user accounts. I have been using the monitor and converter for a few months now and it's fine.
A couple of days ago, i logged into user1 (screen res is set to 2560) then I logged into user2 (the res was set to 1920) and user2 was fine as usual. I decided to change the resolution to 2560 and the screen flashed but instead of taking me back to the desktop, it logged me out and when i tried to log back in, it hangs while loading the finder. actually, it logs me out once and then the second time, just hangs. it opens a few finder windows that I had open but doesn't load any desktop icons and then, just hangs.
I can log into my user1 account and even another that I made for guests but never use... I just can't log into user2 now. I have been googling and couldn't find the exact problem but i tried some solutions to things that sound similar. Because it seems to be user specific... By logging in with Terminal, i was able to move some preferences out of the users preferences folder and try to restart. plists like; [URL]
but it hasn't worked... I'm hoping I'll be able to get into this account, as i have some info I need to export before i wipe this machine and reinstall. and getting access would be the least troublesome way...
I am on a Mac G4 and just installed 10.5.8. I the System Preferences I selected Display and changed the display from 60 hz to 24. Now I get no display. Is there a way to revert back, or access the terminal to change the monitor back so it displays? I know I could reload but that takes a couple of hours.

I was plugging along on the internet when I decided to try the spoken commands for the first time. When I opened System Preferences and clicked on the microphone, at that instant my screen flickered and changed in both quality and what appears to be contrast and tint. I tried in vain to correct this by way of the controls for the Display in Sys. Prefs. but to no avail. I would like to know if I have a video problem or a memory problem.

I have added a language under the first tab, Language, only to find that there is no correspondingly supported input option under the fourth tab, Input Sources.
I would now like to remove the entry I added under the first tab, Langauge, but cannot figure out how to do this. I have tried highlighting and pressing delete, dragging it out of the window, etc., but so far nothing works.
I have a lot of greek songs on itunes, but the characters that are shown or not greek at all. It kind of makes searching for songs and such hards so i was just wondering if there's a way to solve this problem.

(There may be other keys replaced with foreign characters but these are the most problematic). I tried resetting using preferences, international, input but this did not work. How can I restore the keyboard to it's original character set?

It won't eject because it doesn't recognise it. I've tried putting a DVD in to see if it would eject with that put it just ejects the DVD.

I can change the country to the UK but as I start the registration process iTunes ask for the banking details, at this point it asks If the billing address of your credit card is not in the UK click here once you select Spain as your banking address all the content reverts back to Spanish. View 3 Replies View RelatedVery infrequently a loud foreign voice will be heard on my iMac speaker system. I havent been able to really document it properly as it doesnt last that long and as indicated very infrequent--I believe I have only heard it twice, maybe 3 times in the last month.
It would appear to be within the computer system and not from any local transmissions. It seems to only last 5 or 10 seconds if I recall correctly.
I am concerned that it may be some type of hacking or something that has been put on/in the iMac. I believe it occurred while using Firefox.

I just switched to Mac from Windows. I'm using a current-model Mac Mini purchased in the US along with a bilingual Apple Bluetooth Hebrew/English keyboard purchased in Israel. The bilingual functions work perfectly for text; the only problem is that the Mac seems to think that I am using an English keyboard and the OS menus give me keyboard shortcuts for an English keyboard. Since the symbols on a USA keyboard don't exactly correspond to the symbols on my foreign keyboard, the keyboard shortcuts given in the mac menu are useless.

I imported a few Russian Music CDs to iTunes and sadly a couple of them have garbled text while the others display fine. I know that garbled text happens when the computer doesn't have the language installed.
