MacBook Pro :: 13" Graphics (blue Bar Flickers White And Blue Very Quickly And Almost Unnoticeable)?
Aug 7, 2009After a few minutes of rebooting the machine i will use spotlight and it will be very flickery. Like when updating results, the blue bar flickers white and blue very quickly and almost unnoticeable. Also, related, when scrolling a list in the dock through a stack shown in list mode, it flickers a lot there as well. Is this normal behaviour for these machines/leopard in general? I'm used to using a crappy old iBook so i dont know if im just being pedantic.

OS X :: White Macbook Plays Faint Music In The Background?
Aug 7, 2009I've been a mac user for about 5 years and have worked with them pretty extensively so i'm not a newbie, but I have been having the craziest issue i've ever come across on a mac start about a week ago with my very own and here it is:
Like it says above I'm using a 2.4GHz macbook with 2Gb of RAM bought in 2007. Starting about 2 weeks ago, I find that when i'm using speakers or headphones (ie: NOT the in-built speakers) that there is faint techno music playing the background. I do like techno music but it's no song that I recognize from my library, and it seems to be about a 10 second loop. It was first one song, then i restarted my computer and it was ok for about a week and now it's back with a DIFFERENT loop (still electronic?) Has anyone ever come across anything like this before? It has nothing to do with the volume of the speakers/headphones. They still go loud and I can still hear what i'm actually watching/listening to just fine, but then there's this techno off in the distance. OR if i'm not listening/watching anything and turn the volume up all the way on either the speakers or headphones i'm able to hear the music relatively clearly but it still sounds muddled and far off. Any advice would be awesome.

Mac Pro :: Blue And White Case Modding Possible?
Mar 13, 2008In my ongoing project, my next goal is to see if I can't alter the blue plastic outer case (the stuff on the front, top, and back), the foggyish white panels on the side, and the apples in the middle of them. I already have everything separated and I have no intention of putting it back together until it looks different somehow. Maybe if I could change some of it from foggy to glossy or (ideally) clear (blue seethru would be very spiffy).

Nov 14, 2010I noticed I have one small pixel that seems extremely bright, particularly when viewing a web page with a white background. I do not see any problems with the pixel when on a dark background. I think I can live with one weird pixel problem, but in case I wanted to exchange my Air for one that does not have a pixel issue, will the Apple store allow it? Also, what's the likelihood that the Apple store would have the "ultimate" version of the 11.6"? If they do not and I have to order a new one, do they allow me to continue using my current one until the new one arrives (similar to what Dell does for their customers)?

Feb 13, 2012So my problem with my Macbook Pro's pixels is many of them look blurry and are multiple colors almost like a rainbow. They also only show up on white backgrounds, not black. Some of them are in clusters and others are spread out. One of the clusters is very annoying and looks like a big blurry dot on my screen. I am hoping to take it in to the apple store and see what they can do about it because it seems like it is getting worse. I am assuming these are all dead pixels but I am not certain.

Jun 24, 2012I have normal vision and have found the ical update on OS Lion to be very difficult to read. As a photographer using a mac monitor for pre-corrected color, brightness, and contrast, changing the appearance of monitor is not an option for me. I am hopeful Apple will solve this design problem immediately and embed it in their OS update. It's not the size of the font that matters, it's the fact that light gray is on a white background and that makes reading it a nearly self-defeating process.

Mar 26, 2008Long Story Short never owned a Mac computer just the computers I used to use in school when I was like 10 yrs old. I bought a Mac G3 Blue and White upgraded to G4 500mhz and 1gb ram. Now it currently has OS 9.1 running on it I got a copy of Tiger I wanted to throw on it cause. I Heard it would run according to lowendmacs site so what the hell I'll give it a try so pop cd in turn computer off restart and nothing just starts up like normal in chinese. I just want Tiger english or hell even english at this point would be awesome I know like 4 symbols in kanji that is no where near enough to get by. HDD space is 40gig.

Mac Pro :: Front Row Screen Is Just White / Video Picture Is Pure White
Jun 12, 2010When I go to front row, all my video content plays sound, but the picture is just a pure white screen (shows the slider to move chapters, etc., but the screen is just white).
Any ideas for solutions? I did google searches, etc., to no avail. I have a MP (not early 08), which I upgraded the graphics card to a 2600XT, and it's running Leopard.

May 12, 2010I just bought an old G3 at a thrift store and figure it would be fun to try to restore it to working order. Unfortunately it's missing the hard drive. Upon researching the issue, it looks like the old "smurfs" used one of the following:
?6GB Ultra ATA hard disk
?12GB Ultra ATA hard disk
?9GB Ultra2 LVD SCSI hard disk with Ultra2 LVD SCSI PCI card
I need your help in recommending a suitable hard drive replacement. It looks like the "big drives" - those with over 128GB of storage space - need 48-bit addressing. Macs built before 2002 don't have built-in support for it. I assume I'm only going to see 128GB. So presumably, I'm looking for a drive with at least 128GB... but really any recommendation is welcome.

May 22, 2012Cloned unformatted HD in power mac g4 with macbook HD, on start up grey window with apple logo then "you must restart window" with white text " CPU 0 caller.... we are hanging....appears behind, tried command options P R but wnt let me type, tried using macbook disk but just loads up with the restart window and text and also tried removing the ram and starting up with one an a time but all start up with same "restart" screen.

Windows On Mac :: Fatal Error When Installing Drives With Bootcamp CD / Blue Screen With White Letter
Jan 3, 2011I keep getting the following error 3 quarters of the way:
STOP: C000021A "Fatal system error. The windows subsystem process terminated un expectedly w/ a status of OX C000005. System shut down. It's a blue screen with white letter.
I'm using Office XP Service Pack 2 with imac OSX Install DVD version 10.6.3.
The steps I'm taking are:
Log onto my mac and use pre installed bootcamp to partition the drive. I'm using 32GB of space. Then I use my xp Prof w/ service pack 2 cd to install xp. At this time everything is working fine except for the missing drives. Then I put the bootcamp cd that came with my imac into the iMac and run bootcamp. It looks like everything is working perfectly. The imac is finding wireless internet and all the drives look like they are working fine until out of no where a blue screen pops up and states what I wrote below. There is nothing else on the screen. I'm using a 27 inch imac that i bought about 5 weeks ago new.

Dec 10, 2008Has anyone experienced this? After doing a thread search I could only find people talking about cracks in the palmrest, which I have thankfully -not- experienced.
Basically the way I'd naturally rest my palms while I type is making for a really annoying experience. Say I'm typing anything (a URL, an IM, etc) and my palms will make a silent "click" happen and before I know it I've accidentally deleted everything I just typed or I've changed windows and made something happen unintended. I'm holding my palms in the air right now as I type.

I did not find a solution for certain documents, to change a background without breaking the style. I'm using the lowest brightness but I found its easier to read when I make the background gray, for example in textEdit.

Jan 25, 2010The sleeve I keep my laptop in got wet tonight and now the bottom of my macbook is a weird grey/green/yellow colour. The sleeve is by logiix. I can't find the product online but the inside of the sleeve is micro-fibre-ish kind of material... I took some pictures but the quality is really bad, i took it from my cellphone.... I'm wondering if there's anyway to clean it up or do i have to live with it forever... Why does this happen? Might Apple cover it?
