Loose Internet connection every time IMac goes to sleep or restarts. It started when I upgraded to Lion and now is worse in Mountain Lion

Each and everytime I put my Macbook Air 11 to sleep, it loses internet connection and I have to go into the Wi-Fi panel to rejoin my home network. Â It's quite annoying because I like to close my MacBook and hide it in the television cabinet when it's not in use. The first time I encountered this problem was when I left the MBA for an hour to download some big files, only to open it back up and find the download had not moved at all since I closed it. Â

Often my MPA and/or my friends MBP drop Internet connection! The only way to get it connected again is to restart it over and over again.

every time i open my macbook pro from sleep mode there is no internet connection, even though my wifi bars are full and black and my home router is found and ticked. after a 1-2 minute delay my mac then connects to the internet. this happens every time i open my laptop from sleep mode. i have to wait 1-2 mins. this has only started to happen in the last few days and is driving me mad as it shows it is connected to the internet.

When I try to get email or go on the internet in general after being away for a short while, the internet is not connected and has trouble connecting. I have DSL and should always be connected. I also have a laptop (non Apple running Ubuntu) and there is no problem there.

Ever since I upgraded to Lion, my imac loses its wifi connection when it sleeps.When i wake it up i have to always go up to the wifi icon on top right of screen and wait till it sees my network and then say connect.This never happened in snow leopard, seemed to stay connected.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a MacPro Early 2009, 2 ethernet ports.Ethernet 1 is connected to the LAN and Ethernet 2 is connected directly to a SSL Matrix console (an audio mixer), whom driver needs the used ethernet port to be first of the list in the Network connections list in System Preferences.So when I browse internet I can't use the Matrix's software, and vice versa.I had to create 2 different network positions to browse internet and to work with SSL Matrix, one with Eth 1 first place, another one with Eth 2 first place, and I always have to swap positions.Is there a way to force OSX to use by default the 2nd connection of the list for internet access?Â

I installed my Pioneer Bluray drive in the second optical bay on my Mac Pro 2010. It works fine but when computer has been on for a little while it has lost connection with the drive entirely. I'm not sure when exactly. I mostly notice it when I try to open the tray and get no response. When i check in Toast, the app freezes due to the faulty connection and when checking for it on the computer info it's not there anymore. Anyone know why this is? One possibility I can imagine is a sleep/wake issue where this connection is somehow lost, but I never put the computer to sleep so this can't be it. I would hate to remove the Bluray drive entirely, but maybe I can switch places?

I'll try to explain as much as possible.
#1 ISP: Telia
#2 I have a Netgear "box" which is basically for extra internet cords to be plugged into.
#3 This box, is plugged into another Netgear box (for internet cords as well) which is connected to our Modem, which is Zyxel. (Sorry, I don't have the exact models off the top of my head. If they are needed, yell at me and I'll find out the exact models.)
Quick Information about the problem: It's only the wireless that doesn't work. Well, some times. At first it worked, then it didn't (for just a few hours) then it did for a day. Then it didn't for and you get it. But it hasn't worked for months now. The actual problem: Connection Time Out. I enter the password and it 'loads' for a bit, and then gives me this error. [URL]
I recently got a new time capsule but I have difficulties setting up the internet connection. The time capsule is connected to our WAN using a cable in my office. The computers in our organization are authenticated using their MAC address. So, I have to add the MAC address of the time capsule to make it connected to the internet. I want to connect the TC to our WAN using a cable, then I want to connect my MacBook using a wireless connection to the TC.
When I config the TC using the NAT mode (Share a public IP address), I can use the internet but I get a double NAT error and TC's LED is yellow. When I config the TC using the Bridge Mode, the led goes green. Anyway, if I connect my MacBook using wireless I cannot reach the internet. I get no error in this case so I don't know what is happening inside the TC. Interestingly, if I connect the MacBook to the TC using an ethernet cable, it works perfectly! I have added all the MAC addresses of the wired and wireless interfaces to the list of my computers.
My time capsule drops its internet connection on a regular basis. Some times it will reconnect on its own. Sometimes I have to reboot the time capsule and the computer. Sometime I have to reconfirm the tc settings and once I had to delete the time capsule setting and reinstall.
The internet is high speed pppoe and the time capsule firmware is the latest version.
All the other time capsule setting are default.
As it's a always a good idea to have an 'off site' backup. I thought of buying an external HD, setting it up at a family members house and backing up to it through time machine and an internet connection. I would prefer not to pay for a costly 'remote backup' subscription. Could someone guide me through the steps necessary to make this happen. Or suggest an alternative approach to automatically backing up offsite? One problem I can foresee is the large volumes of data involved, pictures, video etc. (even though I could do the initial backup through a 'hard-wired' connection.)
View 2 Replies View RelatedEver since I updated from 10.5.6 to 10.5.7, I'm now loosing my Apple wireless keyboard and mighty mouse bluetooth connection with my MacBook Pro. At least once a day, my keyboard and mouse both loose connection. There is no lag going on before it happens, it just happens suddenly. I can get connection back to both my mouse and keyboard by simply using the trackpad to turn bluetooth off then on again from the menu bar. Up until last week this was happening on my 17"/2.6GHz/4GB previous gen MacBook Pro. I have now sold that and as I'm sitting here setting up my new 17" uMBP, I just lost keyboard and mouse connection. Grrr. Obviously it's not my machine and obviously it's not my keyboard or mouse as they both loose connection at the same time - it's 10.5.7 I'm using airport wireless 'n' 5GHz only. I also have bluetooth enabled on my iPhone, but always have - and never had issues when running 10.5.6 (or earlier). I have searched here but haven't found anyone else mention this exact problem. Strange. I would have thought that it would be common now that I've experienced it with two MacBook Pro's running 10.5.7. Can I go back to 10.5.6 somehow without having to rebuild?
View 24 Replies View RelatedI seriously need your help with an ongoing issue that's been affecting my time capsule for a few weeks now. First of all, my Xbox360 is connected with a wire to my time capsule and now, it's pretty much impossible to play any games online. In Modern Warfare 2, I get horrible lag and after a game or two, the disconnected from xbox live appears and the only way for me to get back the connection is by unpluging the Time Capsule and restarting the Xbox. This gets me a good connection for 30-45 min and after that, same problem. I don't really know what could be causing this since I also lose connection while playing a single player game that doesn't require any incoming data. Sometimes, I just turn on the console, I see the xbox icon searching for an internet connection and then nothing.
I really need your input on this because everything else connected to my Time Capsule works perfectly (PS3 and Wii wireless and a Powerbook wired). The Powerbook never loses the connection.
I searched the forum and couldn't really find anybody with this same situation. But anyways, me and my roommate both own Time Capsules, and both want to be able to connect to our own capsules, but we are obviously sharing the same internet connection. Is it possible to just plug the modem into one of the capsules, and then just plug the other capsule into that capsule? This way would there be two seperate networks that we could individually connect to and sync with?

I recently bought a 27'' iMac (3.2 GHz Intel Core i3, OSX10.6.4) and all was fine and dandy until yesterday when my internet connection suddenly got very slow. It takes forever to load pages, if they load at all. The rest of the iMac is fine as before, which leads me to conclude this is an internet issue. I cleared the cache and browsing history in Google Chrome and no improvement. I tried using Safari and Firefox and they were slow too.
I also have a MacBookPro (2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, OSX10.6.4), so I checked the internet speed on that and it was normal. Both MBP and iMac are connected via an Airport Express. I searched various forums and threads for a solution, but I know very little when it come to these things so I quickly got stuck in technical jargon. I've tried to change the DNS server settings (first to 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2, then to 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220) but this has not helped.
I have an iMac 2.7 i5, 8GB, OS X Lion 10.7.3. I purchased this iMac just about 3 weeks ago and from the beginning experienced regular dropping of the internet connection. I have cleared all other networks that appeared in the Preferred Network window other than my own. I have also unchecked the "Remember what other networks this computer has joined" box just in case I needed to. No luck. I am using an ATT 2Wire wireless router that's just over a year old but I haven't experienced the connection drop problem with an older Macbook (about 4 years old) that I also own.

I know this has been a wifi issue for many, but this is occurring with ethernet as well on our iMac 2.93. Only began with Lion update. All other 5 Macs (Snow Lep/Lep/Tiger) and several PC's on network have no problem. Have set iMac's internet connections to static/manual ip. Worked for a few days, then back to dropping. This is obviously an OS issue.
