OS X V10.7 Lion :: Keeps Dropping Ethernet Internet Connection?

I know this has been a wifi issue for many, but this is occurring with ethernet as well on our iMac 2.93. Only began with Lion update. All other 5 Macs (Snow Lep/Lep/Tiger) and several PC's on network have no problem. Have set iMac's internet connections to static/manual ip. Worked for a few days, then back to dropping. This is obviously an OS issue.
I have an iMac 2.7 i5, 8GB, OS X Lion 10.7.3.¬† I purchased this iMac just about 3 weeks ago and from the beginning experienced regular dropping of the internet connection. I have cleared all other networks that appeared in the Preferred Network window other than my own.¬†I have also unchecked the "Remember what other networks this computer has joined" box just in case I needed to. No luck. I am using an ATT 2Wire wireless router that's just over a year old but I haven't experienced the connection drop problem with an older Macbook (about 4 years old) that I also own.
After switching to a new provider and getting a new dsl modem (a fritz!box fon 7390) I tried to setup my homenetwork again. Now the weird thing is: my Mac Mini running OSX Lion Server doesn't seem to be able to connect to the internet over its ethernet port, only when using a WiFi connection...When it's connected with ethernet it can reach the dsl modem without any problems, but it can't ping/telnet or anything else through, only over WiFi... As long as I use the mini servers WiFi connection everything works fine, but that doesn't make any sense to me.I've checked the servers setting and the Fritz!box settings and I can't seem to find anything obvious.¬†Of course I could just go on and use the WiFi connection...
ps: all the other computers can connect fine using either wifi or regular lan connection... I even tried the exact same cable with another laptop just to make sure...
I am on a Mac Mini connected to the Net via a FON wireless router and Ethernet directly to my broadband modem.¬†I have had problems with both the modem and an Airport Extreme, which eventually died, but I am back up again with the modem via the FON router.The odd thing is that I can't get Ethernet to work over a direct connection to the modem. Diagnostics tells me that the ISP and Internet fails. I can connect to the modem over Ethernet, however, change its settings etc. in my browser.¬†There are solutions mentioned here involving changing the etc/authorization file, but wouldn't that also affect the WiFi if that was the problem?¬†
In short, Ethernet connection to modem works. WiFi connection to FON router and then to the ISP and Internet works. But the Ethernet configuration does't go that last bit, it only works locally. Using that route, I can't connect to the outside world. I have restarted the modem, the computer etc., but that should not be the problem as both works over WiFi, using the same settings for the modem.¬†How do I best troubleshoot this? I am getting an AirPort Express, perhaps it will work better with the modem that the computer itself, but I doubt it.

My iMac keeps dropping internet connection. This has only been a problem since installing Lion, it often tells me there is no connection when my iPhone and MacAir work perfectly so i know its not the broadband itself.† I also get the message that my network configuration has changed.
I have an iMac (without an Airport Base).† It is connected to a Sky router through an Ethernet cable but still with wireless capabilities. The internet connection keeps dropping out at regular intervals throughout the day to the point that my partner may just throw it out the window! The router lights still show it is connected as does the wifi signal at the top of the screen. Our iPhones still work even when the Mac drops off.
I know there are a lot of similar threads all around different forums, but nothing really helped and I was hoping some of you smart ladies/guys can help solve this issue once and for all.
Here's the deal:
My main desktop computer (Compaq windows XP computer) is set-up upstairs where the cable router and linksys wireless router are placed (which is right next to the desktop on the desk). My Macbook (running Tiger and is 3 years old) and iMac (running Leopard and is not even 1 year old yet) are set-up downstairs in my new office. This room is in the basement, however the room is almost directly above the main office where the wired desktop computer resides.
Prior to setting up my office downstairs, my sister lived with my family in the basement and had her windows Vista laptop set-up without any internet connection issues. Her internet never dropped on her laptop, and neither did the connection on her wireless all-in-one printer/scanner/copier. Cell phone reception/internet connection in the basement is also great.
When I set up my iMac and Macbook however a few weeks ago, the internet keeps dropping connection! I do not understand this when my sister had no problems at all with her laptop getting internet connection, when she was living with us. The internet connection will stay good for either 10-30 minutes and then drop, or it could be good for up to an hour and then drop.
Since last week my iMac (Early 2009, OS 10.7.3) has been dropping its connection to the Internet. I'm using a router connected to an Airport Extreme and connect to it via WiFi. I tried connecting via Ethernet cable from modem to iMac but it would drop the connection entirely, which is why I had been connecting via WiFi. I have no problem with my other devices (iPad, iPhone and MacBook, this one with 10.7.2 installed), they connect immediately to the Internet and all, even the iMac, are able to connect to each other.¬†
I already tried restaring the Airport Extreme, zapped the PRAM, reset the SMC, repaired permissions, disconnected the router and Airport from the power source and it still won't connect. Last time this happened, my iMac went to sleep and dropped the Internet connection after waking. I put it back to sleep and woke it using the power button as someone had suggested in another post, that helped and the connection was reestablished. This morning the iMac it was working fine, did not go to sleep at any time and suddenly dropped the connection, which I haven't been able to restore since.¬†

I am connected to the office network via a router (WiFi). My internet connection has been working fine for the past 8 months and now all of a sudden, I can't stay connected for more than 3 minutes. I have tried deleted the network name and re-connecting it but still no joy.
I'm having a problem maintaining my internet connection. Every so often (~15mins) my computer loses its connection without warning. I have an old MacBook running OS X 10.6.8.¬†
The problem started yesterday when I lost connection. Going into network diagnostics everything was green as far as ISP - Internet and Server were the only ones failing. Restarting the router/laptop did nothing, and no-one else using the router had any connection problems. Eventually, the problem was "solved" by renewing the DHCP Lease, except that now the connection drops. It can be restored by going through the Diagnostics and is usually fixed when I reselect my network, whereupon it works fine for a while before being lost, which I usually discover when trying to load a page.¬†
I have tried restarting the router and laptop, I have tried renewing the DHCP Lease again. Once again I'm the only one on the router experiencing connection issues.¬†
I have just recently started having this problem. It seems when the computer sits idle, the connection drops. I don't see my network in the dropdown menu. I open airport utility, and the extreme base station does not show up. I find I have to unplug it, or do an actual reset on it to get it to show up.
I try resetting the cable modem as well, but I have never had issue with the internet connection itself here before. I try restarting the computer. When it does come back online/show up in AIrport Utility, it seems kind of random because it will take a few attempts at all 3 methods mentioned before it just suddenly appears in Airport Utility. So I really have no idea what is helping. The process is a pain in the butt though.
I have searched around, but I can't find many current articles on the problem.
The only other info I can offer is that I never had any problems until I installed the last Airport Utility update. I am running 10.5.6. The problem doesn't seem to happen while I am working, and online frequently.
I don't even know where to start trouble shooting.
My time capsule drops its internet connection on a regular basis. Some times it will reconnect on its own. Sometimes I have to reboot the time capsule and the computer. Sometime I have to reconfirm the tc settings and once I had to delete the time capsule setting and reinstall.
The internet is high speed pppoe and the time capsule firmware is the latest version.
I have a 3 month old Airport Extreme Base Station(dual band) running a secured 2.4 and 5GHz network.
It is dropping it's wireless internet(not signal, just internet) on my 13" Unibody MBP at least 2 or 3 times per day. Not at a certain time, or under certain circumstances, and I can't replicate it. My computer will continue to see the networks(named airFORBUSH and airFORBUSH(5GHz)), but there will be no internet, and it won't stay connected to them. If I connect to the network named "FORBUSH", which is our Linksys network, it connects and is up and running again, so I know it's not our ISP.
Here's my setup in my house(I'm the only one having this issue, since I'm the only one running wireless on the AEBS
I seriously need your help with an ongoing issue that's been affecting my time capsule for a few weeks now. First of all, my Xbox360 is connected with a wire to my time capsule and now, it's pretty much impossible to play any games online. In Modern Warfare 2, I get horrible lag and after a game or two, the disconnected from xbox live appears and the only way for me to get back the connection is by unpluging the Time Capsule and restarting the Xbox. This gets me a good connection for 30-45 min and after that, same problem. I don't really know what could be causing this since I also lose connection while playing a single player game that doesn't require any incoming data. Sometimes, I just turn on the console, I see the xbox icon searching for an internet connection and then nothing.
I really need your input on this because everything else connected to my Time Capsule works perfectly (PS3 and Wii wireless and a Powerbook wired). The Powerbook never loses the connection.
I am sure this may have been asked before , but I am having a problem finding an answer. I have an iMac (2008) and my wife has a ACER E500 PC (No WiFi connection), running Windows XP Media Edition. The only internet connection we have is to my iMac, so as both my iMac and my wifes PC both have Ethernet connections , I am trying to share my iMac internet connection to my wifes PC via an Ethernet cable, I am having no luck in getting it working.
I have an ibook with Leopard installed and its connected to the internet through airport. What I'm trying to do is share the internet connection to my xbox via an internet cable but i cant find any settings in system preferences to do that.
How to connect my powermac g4 to the internet. I was told that it has the "built-in ethernet" and that all I need to do is config it so it will pick up the wireless signal from the router on the main family computer. But whenever I go to config the network connection, and check the status, it tells me that the built-in Ethernet is not plugged in. Do I not have the built in ethernet? I just want to connect to the internet, but I don't want to spend over $120 to have geeksquad come and do it if I can just do it myself.
I currently have MacBook 13" and iMac both running on Snow Leopard. I have no problem connecting to the internet via Airport Express wifi but if I have to connect directly to internet from Ethernet port using Ethernet connection I can't connect to it. The Internet and Server lights are showing "amber" in the network diagnostic tool.
The modem is the DLink DSL 302G. I have used http://10.1.1.1/ to ensure the username and password of the ISP are correct. What I don't get is if it works via Apple's Airport Express router why wouldn't it work with straight Ethernet connection from the modem?
I connect to the internet mainly through an ethernet cable, connected to my own base for ethernet connections (Might be a router, but doesn't connect directly to the internet) which is connected to the main Linksys router on the other side of my house, which even has a wireless connection.
Regardless, this setup has worked without issue for a long time now, but all of a sudden now, I cannot connect to the internet (On my Mac).
I have tried unplugging the routers, for extended periods of time, plugging them back in, but I cannot connect to the internet. Whats awkward, is that when I check the Network settings in the System Preferences, it says clearly is that the Ethernet Cable is connected (Which it is), and as a backup, I have even connected to my Wireless Network through AirPort (Which says it is connected), but I cannot connect to the internet through Firefox, or any instant messaging service.
On the main computer, with the main router, the internet works fine. When I try to load Firefox on my Mac, it sometimes takes a long time loading (On a blank screen), and never loads usually (With occasional loads, but usually does not connect).
The last few days I've had a problem where the Internet network connection speed on my Power Mac slows to a crawl (about 1Mbps) and can only be fixed by re-starting the Mac which restores normal connexction performance for a while.¬†The Internet connection runs at around 35-37Mbps and is routed via a BT HomeHub 3. The laptops which connect via WiFi don't show any slowdown in speed tests, only the Mac Pro, which is connected to the Hub via Ethernet. I've tried swapping between the two Ethernet ports on the Mac but it doesn't make any difference. The HomeHub has been in for about 5 months but this problem has only just started in the last week or so and the period for which the restart restores the network performance seems to be decreasing.¬†Is there any way to reset network software, or some prefs I could delete?¬†It's an early 2008 eight-core Xeon MacPro running 10.6.8, 8GB RAM.¬†
I just got a new MacBook Pro, but my wife uses my old 1.25GHz Alum. PowerBook. My MB pro flies, but unfortunately, the wireless ethernet on my old PB is slow as hell. I've got 11+GB of free space left on my hard drive and Safari or Firefox are the only applications I have open. I also have a cable internet connection with wireless through my 1st Gen Airport Express, yet it's still slow.
I was wondering if it is possible to connect a desktop and laptop computer using apple share or bluetooth to share an internet connection that is connected through an ethernet port on the desktop. My internet company is crap so I need to find a way to cut out the router, which I have to reset all the time to get a normal internet speed.
Desktop is a Mac Pro bought last April, and the laptop is a 12" Powerbook G4. Both have bluetooth, airport, and the newest operating system.
i share a house with my brother, lucky me He got a PC with Vista in his room. I got a lovely imac in my room. He gets the broadband cable direct into his room. It averages 40 mbps download , 1.67 upload. We use a wireless Netgear router one thats suppose to handle N wireless and i pick the wireless up on the airport extreme in my imac. Unfortunately i only get about 12 mbps download , 1.20 upload, even though i'm only in the next room. We both play WOW online. It works so much better on his PC cos of the internet speed. Could I use a gigabit ethernet connection between the PC and imac, to share the internet and still play WOW independently?
I have recently had to stop using my wireless router and connect directly from my modem to the WAN port on my computer. However, I can only achieve an internet connection when I direct connect into my PowerBook G4. When I try to connect into my iMac, I get nothing.
