I am new to the Forum as of today. I am looking for business software or software sites where I might find business applications for my MAC and MACBook Pro. Specifically, right now, I am looking for an application that I can use to take and keep up with Business Meeting Minutes. I have Fusion and XP in a partition so I can use windows based software, but I am trying more and more to get away from the PC stuff and would really like something that works on my MAC's (Snow Leopard).

LInks within webpages don't work. Currently I am running OSX 10.7.4 and Safari 5.1.7. Have cleared the cache in the attempt to click on Download. The one site that has been a issue is MS Skydrive.live.com. On the right side they have a Download link...it does not work correctly (no download).Looking for idea why it does not work.

I've sent a meeting request from my Mac's iCalendar to a friends Outlook 2007. They have received the email, but when opening it up, it says click the link below to accept the meeting but there is no link. Instead there is an iCal file attached to the email, with buttons to accept or reject the meeting, however they are grayed out and cannot be selected.

• The answer is "no", Unsanity haxies are unusable with 10.7.xÂ
• Unsanity isn't showing signs of life and, even if they revive, it may be impossible for a third party to implement haxies in 10.7+Â
• Apple is showing no signs of providing these functions built-in.Â
• Some people --including me-- are very frustrated by the lack of some functions formerly provided by these haxies.Â
I'm going to concentrate on the most significant issue for me and for at least some of the people on the above-referenced thread: Windowshading. How can we live without windowshading in 10.7 and beyond?  Windowshading, long ago, was built in to the Mac OS.  I liked having many, sometimes dozens of files open, easily identifiable, easily restored to full size, arranged on the desktop, generally approximating my workflow, without taking up more than a thin horizontal strip of the desktop for each.  I liked being able to arrange these on the desktop as required by my workflow, especially when things are evolving.Â
Since Apple does continue to support windowshading in one 10.7 app --Stickies-- it is clear that this function still has some validity.  Should this give us windowshading-wanters hope?Â
Probably not. I'm guessing that Apple Human Interface designers made a special exception for Stickies, as this app has doesn't save any visible files.  My guess is that the HI folks feel strongly (VERY strongly) that any kind of desktop workflow-representation should be done with the file icons themselves, on the desktop or in folders. I'm guessing they see the windowshaded representations as bad compromises. I've also seen some evidence that Apple is going in the direction of reducing the distinction between "open" files and prospectively open ones. (D'oh! I wish I'd recorded some links to the articles describing this.) Â
Well, all in all, it seems we're not going to get windowshading. Juggling lots of open files all at once? Organizing according to workflow? What are the current options?  To start: we can shove open windows partly off to the side. That's good for at most 2 or three files per screen edge, left, right, and bottom (with some interference from the Dock) and isn't necessarily so helpful as left and right-shoved files are likely difficult to identify as their titles fall off-screen. Â
Shrinking to the dock? Yeah, that works -- but in my view only for a very limited number of files.    What about using the solution the HI folks seem to be pushing for, organizing the file icons on the desktop or inside folders?  Credit where credit is due: for image files in folders, in cases in which the file icon is a representation of the image, with Finder View-->Show View Options-->Show icon preview enabled, the HI folks have provided a brilliant solution: just use the icon size slider at lower right as necessary. For most images I've worked with, the icon preview can easily be made big enough to recognize and sort each image. None of the image files need be open. Cool. Â
For me this applies less well to non-image files.  Text: I'm imagining sorting hundreds of short files each with a brief bit of text inside (e.g. quotes) all formatted at 9 point. I don't think this will work so well: for me, such text isn't readable even at maximum icon magnification.  I simply don't have enough experience with miscellaneous files that don't fit in these categories. Do "minor" 3rd party apps provide icon preview images? (Full disclosure: just now is the first time I've even tried this with non-image files. D'oh!) Another approach that works for me is to use Mission Control and multiple Desktops/Workspaces. In general, this gives me access to many more open files in workflow-related groups.  In my opinion, Mission Control still needs some improvements, and I understand it doesn't work for everyone. Trying to view a YourTube video on a new current iMac running 10.7.4.Video is embedded in site that I administer, so I need to check the link when I update. Get the dreaded " This video is currently unavailable" tag.The video played fine before the Safari 5.1.7 update, and plays fine on my Air and on my iPod.No other updates or software changes - only the Safari update. So the Safari upgrade broke the part where the browser identifies itself to YouTube so I get the HTML feed instead of Flash? No Flash loaded on this iMac, ever.

I've having trouble getting the "webcam" option on "live messenger" on my MAC. There is no option for starting a conversation with a cam and when people request a cam conversation it suggests that i get "window live v7" I've already got this. Do I need a separate webcam instead of the built-in one i have on my laptop?

I have a new iMac and iPhone 4.0. All software is up to date and I have installed the free beta version of Mountain Lion which let me use iChat on my computer. Safari intermittently stops working. Mail won't access my mailboxes if Safari is running. Now iTunes won't find my iPhone when it's locked and in a dock charging. If I restart I can do 1 thing at a time, but I can't have Safari running and use Mail. I've emptied my cache, checked my passwords. It's none of that. By process of elimination, there is some kind of conflict between using multiple applications on the Internet at the same time. Sometimes after I've gone to several Internet sites Safari will stop working properly even though all other applications have been "quit".

I've got a Mac Pro1,1 (Mid 2006) with a 7300GT installed. I want to upgrade the card as cheaply as possible. I've looked on Apple Store and according to reviews/comments the ATI HD 5770 will be compatible, but its 199!? The PC version is only 100.
I know you can flash the ATI 4870, but even this is out dated now? And most of the links on the guides here are dead/the stores don't stock them anymore.
Is it possible to buy a PC version ATI HD 5770 and flash it to work with my Mac Pro?

I was looking at the requirements for Spore and saw this Dual 2.0GHz CPUs, or 1.7GHz Core 2 Duo, or equivalent My concern is that I pre-ordered this for my wife so that she could take it on her deployment with her and enjoy playing it, but now I am worried that it might be for naught. I've never really played any games on the MBA yet and am wondering if any of you have played games with similar requirements but still had decent results.

My Ti Power Book finally died after 13 yrs service. I bought a new MacBook Pro 15" last month, running 10.5.8.
I have a full backup of the old computer on an external drive and I connected it to recover some of my data. When I tried to open the old Address Book (V 4.0) it told me this version will not work on the new PB. Is there any way to open this or print it out??
