I have a texture pack patcher for minecraft, and it is in the form of a .jar file.
Previously, with my computer, Ihave never been able to open .jar files, but I had no need, so I put it off. As of now, I really want to use this patcher as it has a specific function in the map I am playing. My computer and java are all up to date, and I re-installed java.

Is there a good app launcher that stays entirely in the top right system bar area, and does not need to be open in the dock to work? I'm very finicky about what's in my dock, and don't like having background utilities showing up in it.

View 6 Replies View RelatedA couple weeks ago, I decided to download a stand-alone jar file for my personal use. The jar file, dependent on nothing, ran in Jar Laucher by default and worked fine. Earlier this week, however, I decided my Mac was cluttered and so I went through it and cleared out everything I wasn't ever going to use again. I also have an app called "The Unarchiver" from the Mac App store (I've had this for about two months). Since the uncluttering, three bad things have happened. 1) Any .jar files open in The Unarchiver instead of Jar launcher
2) When I search around my Mac for Jar Launcher, nothing appears.
3) The .jar file icons changed to this:
Also, I tried uninstalling The Unarchiver, and it still didn't work. Either Jar Launcher is gone, or it went dormant. What should I do, and if needed, where can I reinstall Jar Launcher? (Mac Late 2009 Model 10.7.3)

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded Diablo III, and tryed to install it, it didn't work and i constantly got this Blizzard Launcher can't connect to the internet error. I tryed redowloading the game 2 times, i tryed closing all unnerserssary programs but it wouldnt work. So i went on Skype and called some friends and chatted for around an hour. Then i open Minecraft, and when i join a server, My iMac's screen just freezes. i can still hear my friends over skype and i can still use all the keyboard commands to lower or raise the volume. But other than my mouse and the lighting nothing moves on my screen. I tryed restarting. Didn't work. I can still hear the background programs like Skype and spotify opens but the screen is just all white with some small grey boxes here and there. I tryed taking the wire out and hold the on/off button in for 10 seconds, didn't work either.Does anyone know what to in my situation? Should i go to the applestore and get it fixed? (The nearest Applestore is 2 hours of driving away)

1. Lion's (10.7.3) user interface becomes nonresponsive/'freezes': trackpad cursor moves, keyboard can be used for typing, BUT gestures stop working and "Dock" is not responding (it is hidden automatically).
2. Tere are frequent "nfs server localhost:/5pBJvp-jULTJrbfF3Hpvc5: not responding nfs server localhost:/5pBJvp-jULTJrbfF3Hpvc5: is alive again" error messages in Terminal while I am running 'find' command.
These error messages seem to be correlated witth the user interface 'freezes'.

Anybody have the 12WX working correctly with lion with no previous wacom installed? hooked it up right away with no problems on a leopard mac pro. had working windows xp on virtual machine no problems.with imac lion, would not run the install drivers from disk (PPC). so installed the latest 6.2 driver and a bamboo intuos 3 driver as recomended by wacom. installed driver for pen. the bamboo driver worked for a day or so ( with no option keys working), but had 4 point calibration unlike the two point from leopard install.now, neither are recognizing a tablet connection, only works as monitor. uninstalled. tried an older driver 6.15. ran fix disk permissions, reset pram. restarted(+++). dis and re connected. reinstalled again and again. still no luck getting it running on a new mid 2011 imac with lion.

First my apologies, not really a mac guy. My spouse installed Lion on her PacBook machine.
1: Itunes wont work, error refers to the fact that a new version was already loaded. I tried to pull from trash the old version buty it still wont work. I also re-installed Lion and it still gives the same error message.
2- Seems to lose "airport connection, thus forcing me to rest the wifi connection often
3- Browser in Safari looks different
4- Wiped out all of her contacts when she connected her iphone to system.

Hp scanner 4000 series not working since downloading Lion. I downloaded the driver, but it does not work. Received instruction to uninstall scanner, but cannnot do that since it is "grayed" out. HP support did not help.

I Have a new imac i5, I have been unable to play cds on it. DVDs do work. the cd's are CD-R and do work on windows 7 and some are form a imac, most of the cd's have Photo's on them. here is what i get when putting in a Cd......... There was a problem opening the media. The media type is not supported. when I Restart the imac i get a message that the disk is unreadable even when it has no disk in it.

Since few days I'm no more able to play videos in iTunes (movies or video podcasts just get me a black square, audio working fine !). I've gone through some of the threads on here about this issue. I have tried adding my volume to privacy tab in spotlights preferences and removing it, but it wont even let me add it due to an error.
So I then tried command line indexing using sudo mdutil -E /, this just brings up the message in terminal no index.

I just upgraded from on old iMac. Dealing with unhappy kids because the minecraft game they loved won't work on the new one.I've installed Java for Lion. I have tried everything to fix Spotlight search with no luck. I have deleted the index file in the root directory with out success. and tried several other ways of tring to re index my machine. As you can see from my screen shots. There is a file called Apps on the desktop. Yest when I search the desktop it cant find it.

Using Lion, latest and fully updated. At some point in the past week or so the volume control stopped having an effect. Using either the keyboard function keys or the item in the task bar, the graphics look good and the blocks/slider move around just fine, but there is no effect whatsoever on sound output. I can control the volume in whatever app I'm using, whether it's a Web app or local app with its own volume control. But the system volume controls no longer have an effect. This is true whether or not I'm using the display output or headphones.

I am using the latest Safari 5.1.5 on my MBP with OSX Lion 10.7.3.I noted that when I click on Reader in the URL line, sometimes I can't get the function to work. That is, I don't get the uncluttered view with the print option.I can manage without the function as there are other print commands and I use Evernote as well. I just wondered if the Reader function gets disable sometimes.To be clear, I am not referring to the Reading List function.
