I have upgraded to Lion and all the latest software upgrades and suddenly my text and icons are way too small. I'd like to increase the size of my widget icons and do not know how?

Like the title says, anyone know how to increase the size of the icon of the hard drive. I have a huge 24 inch monitor and would like my hard drive icon to be nice and big.
View 2 Replies View Relatedhow do you make the size of the thumbnails larger than 128x128? 128x128 is a bit too small to see my photo's easily. I know that I could use Coverflow but I prefer to use the standard thumbnail view.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 24" iMac and when I open Numbers everything just appears to be small. I was able to increase the size of the boxes with the zoom feature, but that didn't help with the icons across the top. I've been using Excel for a while so I'm trying to learn how to do some of the stuff with Numbers, but it is killing me squinting to make out the different options. Is there any way to change this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedHow do I stop this happening? In icon view, if I increase the size of the icons, I feel they should re-arrange to fit my window size as they do in iPhoto, but they don't and I end up with a window that's 4 times as wide as my screen.

I would like to increase my icon size, I know you can go to View tab under Finder and change it, but it only change that specific folder, it doesn't change all the other icon elsewhere, does anyone know how to do that.
View 1 Replies View Relatedits really annoying whenever happen to use two fingers on my multi-touch mouse-y thing and all of my icons spiral into outrageously large or ridiculously small sizes. is there a way I can lock the icon size so this doesn't happen?

I've managed to get most of my apps text sizes ok for me to see (though FF skews things up a bit), but I find my toolbar icons and text size to be a bit small for me.
Two main apps cause me grief. Mail and Office. I can't seem ti find anywhere where I can increase the size of the toolbar icons. In mail i can use Large icons, but that doesn't affect the toolbar. In Office (mainly Word/Excel) I can't seem to find anything at all.
Got a new MBP 13". Just the one problem. Every now and again, always when I am touching the mousepad, the icon sizes on the desktop change. I then have to go into Show View Options and set it back again to what I want.

Is there an option/tweak/add-on to show the size of a highlighted file in icon view? I know I can change to a different view or use 'Get Info' on the file but that defeats the purpose. Is there anyway to see this information on the information bar on the bottom of the window (instead of just number of files and space available on disk)?
Nothing major, just something to make life a little easier.
Besides the View Options, which changes all icons, is there a way to selectively change the size of only one icon on my desktop?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm relatively new to using a Mac seriously, having just acquired a lovely new MBP with Snow Leopard installed. I may be missing something obvious, but is there a way to limit the icon preview feature to just showing previews for files less than a certain size? My background is with Linux, and KDE provides a configurable file size cut off above which icon previews are not shown.
I ask because I've got a folder full of large (ie 16GB) ASCII files full of output from some scientific algorithms. Whenever I browse to that folder, the Quick Look Helper eats up all 8GB of my system memory before the OS kills it off and it moves on to the next file. This is *really* irritating.
So, is there a way to limit icon preview's behaviour to small (ie normal) files, or do I just have to turn it off completely?
How does one alter the size of the icons in the application folder on the dock? The icons are enormous, yet there are none of the usual size changing gadgets.

Terminal Split Pane: Why does split pane it merely duplicate what I type in the second pane? Why can I only type within the second pane? Is there a way to change the orientation of the split panes? I'm either missing something or this feature is totally useless/broken.
Stack Icon Sizes: In the dock, when I view a folder stack in Grid, how do I change the icon size? They're like, goofy huge too me.
My desktop icon size CONTINUALLY defaults to a very tiny size. I know where to change the size > click on desktop > show view options > adjust icon size; however, inevitably as soon as I close it out, it defaults back to a very tiny size..I mean VERY tiny. So I have to continually do the above procedure to increase the size again. Doesn't look like there is a way to LOCK that desktop icon size.

How do I shrink the size of icons in grid view on dock? (see attachment). They are massive at the moment & because im only on a macbook white 13", it takes up so much of the screen.
View 2 Replies View RelatedNot familiar with the mac at all, as this post will demonstrate On the desktop, the background is now expanded and when you move the cursor, it navigates by an annoying combination moving the cursor and moving the background until an icon is under the arrow. I screwed around with the display and some other preferences, but i cant figure out which setting I need to modify to get it back to a static background (of normal size) and a cursor that moves to an icon.
